I like how Molly was the one Fjord turned too in helping with his warlock pact he didn't understand, and Talisen's next character continues it and brings him from it a bit.

He keeps his Warlock powers like the invocations and Eldritch Blast because Fjord said to the Wildmother that he wanted something at least similar than what he had. His Hexblade's Curse, for example, is always described as being green rather than black, Wildmother given. Divine power. On a meta perspective, that's probably Travis might have mentioned to Matt, that he wanted to keep his Warlock powers if he multiclassed into Paladin because it synergizes amazingly, Hexblade and basically any Paladin Oath.
You know, Fjord started out as the character I had the least interest in. Now he's gotten what I consider to be one of the best, if not THE best, character arcs this entire campaign. The hard choice, the lack of power, leading up to this payoff right here was just excellent!

Aaron Vixionni well i love revenge stories and percy but caleb is plain boring to me. Don’t know why, cuz it isn’t liam since i love vax. I think i like hateful revenge more than gloomyness. Also caleb has been (for now, to me) a bit monotone.
THAT is how an arc is concluded... and begun. Really wish Caduceus's final sentence "Embrace your destiny" was heard a little louder though. This ending was frikkin' awesome!!
Truely, from 8:40 on, that ending could not have been made better if they tried, that transfer of weapon information as he said it was straight cinematic. These guys are GOOD at what they do.

well he probably got +2 from the book and +1 from the training.....but I doubt they moved any of his stats so he could be Str 13-14...doubtful he is that much higher but who knows.
@@acm4bass i think Fjord had an 11 Strength, and to multiclass into Paladin he needed a 13 so the magic book was a Tome of Strength which probably gave him what he needed. So the mild muscle increase and more toned body is fitting.
@@StarkKarstVT - The bonus to strength had nothing to do with the book. Matt confirmed it on twitter a few days ago. It was a separate gift from the Wildmother to become a paladin.

They’ve updated the intro before!! If you notice in Matt’s book the different characters have changed! Avantika, Kiri, etc are longer, but Essik and others have taken their place! So it’s a possibility :)

@@Methren1 I believe the official right now is Warlock -9, Paladin - 1. They dinged at the end of this episode and Travis took 1 level of paladin. Those 9 levels of warlock seem to be the darkness that cannot be removed.
Got some very "Craven Edge" vibes when Star Razor was handed over to Fjord... funny the similarities. A lovely blade perfect for Travis's character handed over to him by Taliesin's character... and it's just a massive piece of paper to read. Of course flipped because Star Razor is supposedly a "good" blade when compared to the evil Craven Edge... now if only the sword talked.
This was one of your better edits, and that's saying a lot as you always do an amazing job. I was strangely emotional watching this scene, and rewatching this edit brought those emotions back. Also, nice catch on Laura/Jester wiping her chin as Fjord is asking why his shirt is gone. Made me almost spittake when I saw that
I CALLED IT allllll the way back when the wild mother was helping him with Ukatoa and again when he dropped the blade in the magma. I knew he was going to multiclass as paladin. What kind? I can't say. Ancient makes sense, nature based paladin for a nature god but, hey they can do whatever they want.
I'm slightly confused. What about this makes you think he is multiclassing? He just got a new patron so his powers are back. Might get a new flavor to some of them, bit I doubt he is a paladin, yet at least.
Honestly, this was one of the best CR episodes ever. Not only did it capture the M9 in all aspects.. but it was just a great example of excellent, impactful, and moving d&d.

Only going from the PHB, might Fjord be looking into Oath of the Ancients? I know for sure he’s a paladin, but OoA fits almost perfectly with Wildmomma’s agenda.
So, update, he didn’t take the Oath of Ancients. Which admittedly sucks because it’s my favourite oath, but making a whole new oath for a sailor who spat in the face of an eldritch sea deity makes sense and still works as seas are a part of nature.

I have a two of a stone with swords from different fantasy books and films plunged into a stone on the right side of my back. I just found out about Star Razor and looked at the fan art. Looks like I am going to have to get this sword tattooed. This weapon is beautiful and so fricken powerful.
A longsword made of mithril, enchanted by an ancient white dragon and forged by a descendant of an ancient dwarven lineage who also swears some level of fealty to a forge god. I would be disappointed if that paper was smaller

I think he still has warlock powers and is multi classing with paladin. but I have a sneaking suspicion that certain spells might have consequences, considering some warlock spells are considered more "evil."
There was a video they put up of Travis levelling up and he chose to take a level of paladin. So he's multiclassing. What i'm interested in is if Fjord is staying as a hexblade or whether he might have changed into a different type of warlock.
