@BMason3604 You always want to sand when trying to get something to adhere to something else. How smooth it is depends on the grit of sandpaper. And smoothness is relative, sanding creates millions of tiny scratches in the surface.
when you broke the handle of and said there was some of the cup on it and said it wasn't very durable that was kinda unfair because the puddy din't break it was the cup
Im guessing if you scuff both mating surfaces with sandpaper 100-130 grit, and clean with denatured alcohol or perhaps laquer thinner, let dry then use mighty puddy you will get the best possible bond, just as you would with JB Weld.
i like the other revues but this one pissed me off i mean if i applyed pressure in the way he dose to a normal cup handle i would probly brake it lol ur not ment to twist handels also as you said it took more of the cup with it implying that the handle was not the problem the cup was
this stuff has been around for years as a vehicle gas tank repair where u dont want to weld. and i cant be sure but i dont think they made the handle of the mug from putty, but just attached it back. just throw away the mug and get a new one. r u following me camera guy.
@polarotter That is exactly what I was thinking! I could see gluing the old handle back in place, but to use 20 dollars worth of puddy to make a new handle that doesn't even match is a total waste of time and money.
the cup: you should have put it on where the handle broke off. it pulled off the finish of the cup; it didnt break. the door: you didnt let it set for more than 15 minutes? you didnt show how it came off the car? wtf? the cup/pipe: you didnt try it on a pipe, and half assed it on the cup. "i dont have the guts to try that since it didnt hold the trim onto a door" well if you had actually followed the instructions, it likely would have. you ripped it off before it was set and didnt show it.
Actually, if you watched the infomercial, he makes a handle for just a regular ol' cup. How do I know? Well. Unless the cup's handle was the same colour as the Mighty Putty by some arbitrary coincidence, it's a brand new handle. Perhaps you should do research before running your mouth.
So many things wrong with this. As people said you broke the first 2 things. And you even said that you only waited 15 mins for the car. And with the cup you try to fix a crack which is larger that a hole billy mays had. So you fail
don't believe the hype...any infomercials they 're gonna exaggerate ....like any form of advertisement....use your common sense and judgement....if it's too good to be true...its not.
Here let me start all over, your Audio is messed up, to much Bass! But that's not nothing my Text is pretty messed up to Thanks for posting! WOW i did it. lol
Hey so looks like you fail to mention that #1 they say to allow up to 24 hours to cure. #2 the directions state that you should make both surfaces rough. Do you understand a car paint job with clear top coat is NOT rough? #3 the mug failed, not your mighty putty handle. The mug itself broke ceramic. You said yourself that it took the mug itself apart. Fail fail fail. Your video, not the product.
dude, the mighy putty clearly worked on the mug. It bonded to the mug so strong that it broke the ceramic when you broke it off. the ceramic was weak, not the mighty putty.
Obviously it won't work like the infomercial, cause Billy Mays isn't using it. =)
Mighty Putty.
It can fix ANYTHING,
but a broken heart.
We'll miss you Billy. ;_
Your words are full of hope.
For the door trim, just use super glue
The fact that It took some of the mug with it when you ripped it off shows the mug's weakness not the puddy's
good point
FUCKING OPTIMUS PRIME CANT TEAR THAT SHIT APART!
or you could buy Oatey Epoxy at any Lowes store, it is the same exact thing and you get about the same amount for 5 buck, not 20
Yeah, I noticed that it only came from my left speaker.
i point wasnt to make a new handle but to put the old one back on
@BMason3604

it actually takes 24hours for it to 100% ready
I did, it worked pretty well.
that guy is jacked! he applied 80,000 pounds of pressure or more!
2019
when you broke the handle of and said there was some of the cup on it and said it wasn't very durable that was kinda unfair because the puddy din't break it was the cup
R.i.p billy mays
it can pull the 80k lb semi cause thats not the rolling weight that it take to pull the truck
wouldn't it just be cheaper to buy a new mug than use an entire stick of mighty putty?
Review Mighty Putty Wood and Mighty Putty Steel.
Also, you should review Mighty Tape.
Im guessing if you scuff both mating surfaces with sandpaper 100-130 grit, and clean with denatured alcohol or perhaps laquer thinner, let dry then use mighty puddy you will get the best possible bond, just as you would with JB Weld.
DONT QUESTION THE MAYS!!!
RIP billy mays
No, in the commercial, they use the mighty putty as the actual handle.
@z33z11 are you talking about silly putty or mighty putty?
rip billy mays!.....and did they make a whole handel or just put 1 back on?????
...cool!
Sound should be balanced
just put a small piece on each side of the broken mug and attach its original handle lol
i like the other revues but this one pissed me off i mean if i applyed pressure in the way he dose to a normal cup handle i would probly brake it lol ur not ment to twist handels also as you said it took more of the cup with it implying that the handle was not the problem the cup was
Audio that is!

nothing will stick thats you have to let its dry first
@polarotter that mug had sentimental values...:))
Is mighty putty dishwasher safe?
heyyy i have red cups just like that!!!!!
@polarotter That is exactly what I was thinking! I could see gluing the old handle back in place, but to use 20 dollars worth of puddy to make a new handle that doesn't even match is a total waste of time and money.
No shit. We didn't need to see a youtube video to know how fast news travel with the media we have today.
the cup: you should have put it on where the handle broke off. it pulled off the finish of the cup; it didnt break.

Thats not how they fixed the mug
i miss billy mays T_T
you should clean the surfece before using the putty
But will it blend? That is the question.
No... re-watch the commercial.
Billy Mays died today at Age 50, so sad
just use good 'ol duct tape and superglue.
3:13 thats what she said
UGH as a potter his handle craftsmanship makes me want to pull my hair out XD
you broke the ceramic on the mug not the putty
id give it 2/6
Why a plastic cup?
Actually, if you watched the infomercial, he makes a handle for just a regular ol' cup.
How do I know? Well. Unless the cup's handle was the same colour as the Mighty Putty by some arbitrary coincidence, it's a brand new handle.
Perhaps you should do research before running your mouth.
Would you trust mighty putty for fixing a fish tank?
how did you come up with 3 stars? no way does it deserve that
To much Bas or something! thanks for posting!
hmm i thought it has my speakers
some glue and reattach the handle...
That's why I love these reviews.
To knead it, just use a rolling pin
Can you use mighty putty to make you some hair?
Couldnt he just stick the old handle on using that stuff?
Yea that would be the intelligent thing to do....not try to sculpt a whole new handle from all putty....absurd
u dont put it on a pastic cup lmfao..
Sanding the paint with 60 to 80 grit will give you much better adhesion
@Bind1967 Very good points. Maybe someone made a more educated review. Attempt to find a good review #4 now...
just go and buy "jb weld" and use that instead lol
how much is a mug about a dollar, I would not buy this to fix a mug or the car. but that is just me.
3 stars is way to much it deserves 2 if not 1
I think you're supposed to use the putty to glue the original handle on...
he died saturday
i lol`d so hard when i saw your comment
what if it gets wet?
wtf u made a handle? y not just use 2 little pieces of that and paste it on the broken handle
So many things wrong with this. As people said you broke the first 2 things. And you even said that you only waited 15 mins for the car. And with the cup you try to fix a crack which is larger that a hole billy mays had. So you fail
3:12-3:17 thats what she said
Thank you for this review, this was on my list to get. I will not be getting this.
this feels weird
@nuttyguy123 just paint it
mah left ear!

10 ton school bus my ass
you only let it sit for 15 min you said for an hour to get hard
this is stupid, this is stuff any regular apoxy can do
@metallica1426 i know what can fix a broken heart, duck tape
Lol. You amuse me. I'll keep you in a cage and show you to all my friends, they love to laugh. I shall call you... Bob.
@MegaLordCharles all epoxy smells like that lol
YOUR AUDOI IS RELLY MESSED UP!
AND rotten eggs
omg just buy any other stupid mug for like a merely 2 buck...than wasting ur money for stupid "might putty"...more like "crappy putty"
yah it sucks ._.
Mighty Putty is mighty awful.
dude, the mighy putty clearly worked on the mug.
It bonded to the mug so strong that it broke the ceramic when you broke it off. the ceramic was weak, not the mighty putty.
pretty crappy review
Fuckin thing sucks!
3:12-3:20 thats what she said
