John Mendhelson is the greatest manager ever. Every time he'd bursts into the conversation with that long drawled-out "Let me address that issue, Howard," I start laughing. But the one at 3:53 is my favorite because Jackie and Robin laughed with me.
I'm sure the initial deal wouldn't be much. They could've gotten in deeper with Stern, and negotiated for more. But, with the lack of talent it didn't matter. Signed first offer, a single or two with Epic, and done- they would've ended up in suicide anyway. It wasn't about the money, they had a rich mommy and daddy.
A Present 🎁 for a guy that asked me “Who are the Jesus Twins?”during Covid. EVEN more funny is he asked “Who is Sal The Stockbroker?” I’m going to have a great time lining up shows for this guy at least until July
I Love when one of the Jesus Twins says to the guy from epic records: "we just rejected you douche bag" that either means their so serious about their music that they won't sign with just anybody..or it means they were never serious and this was mostly a gimmick.
It means they were serious or it means they weren’t serious, huh? Great seductive reasoning there hoss. Personally I think they believed it wasn’t really the dude from Epic records.
The best part was when they called Gange out. Lmao! You film all the time and the only thing that gets on is how did the appearance go! Fucking priceless.
@@williammaurice7206 well considering Sirius is online and mostly listened to by internet maybe he is king of podcast, since his show is essentially a podcast now.
THE best example of slamming the door on opprotunity on 8:11 that I have ever seen! They took the arrogance without fame tactic to the wall, and forgot to back off when the record guy was on the line. Hilarious....what could have been.
what's fucking crazy about this whole thing is that these guys were actually for real...one of them got shot and killed by the la police during some kind of schizophrenic episode or something like that...so it wasn't just some kind of put on to try and get on the stern show
Howard saying he's a heavy metal fan and that he's "into metal," is ridiculous. Since when? That's the equivalent of someone who went to a resort in Cancun saying that they're Mexican.
If I remember correctly, the soundtrack went to No. 1 its first week like the movie did, lol. So the twins were wrong, like almost everything about them and the manager, of course.
If you really wanna know why these guys weee legends, just go to 7:44 and watch the boys insults a record executive, his label and his lineup, even tho the guy liked them enough to give them a showcase. Unreal
What scares me most about this is that their music is genuinely better than a lot of chart stuff. If they had been less stupid and not turned down contracts, they might have made it big 0.0
I really question the opinion of Harvey Leeds fro Epic. The band was adequate, and the Jesus Twins can't quite sing. You'd think that two identical twins would be able to sing the same note together... even if that note was the wrong one... I love that we got to see those two clown flush their only opportunity down the toilet.
I think what happened was, the Jesus twins used their father’s stolen money from racketeering, and paid this “manager” to buy the rented band(lol), the ad in billboard, and whatever else. I think the brother that didn’t shoot himself is still alive, he’s got some kinda recent videos on UA-cam.🤔
Imagine trying so hard to push your music and get signed and you make your way to Howard stern show and get an offer from epic records and turn it down. Nothing ever happened for that after that lol smh
mo facko What do these guys have to do with Stern? They came on his show. "Feel My Ubiquity" doesn't have to do with anything. It's just an unlistenable song which was sung really off key. And their music was dated even for the time.
mo facko So what? The music is itself pointless and doesn't have anything to do with the film. It doesn't even have any lyrical content that seems relative. The Kids of Widney High would make more sense than this.
Thats not true.. they never got paid to go on Howard from what I know of ... they got the name I think form a Snapple Delivery Guy .. and went wiht it ever since they liked it.. they are two of the most genuine honest people I know truly .. entertaining in many ways but when you sit still and just listen to the music its heart felt... F**ing lOve them...God bless
Nothing is a “ sure thing “ but a musical act trying to make it turning down epic records at that is beyond stupid .. Unfathomable actually .. Once in a lifetime opportunity flushed down the proverbial toilet . Wow
@@impactfitnessbybrett1339 I am no fan of the Jesus twins and no enemy of epic records, but turning down such an offer based on principal ( however warped that principal is) is trully admirable. Shows they are not sellouts! Even though their reasons for not selling out is completely crazy!
+Dylan Pozzy im sorry, where is the movie you made that grossed 40mil? 40 mil back in 99' so you should easily break that. good luck and god speed salty salmon
Im talking to Kurt Cobains turtle right now. Swag 420 blze it. The movie was a flop. You know it, we all know it. I've made several high grossing films, two of which made over 40mil in THE FIRST WEEK.
I shuold of said this in my above comment, I highly doubt that guys even a manager probably a life long friend of the jesus twins.A strung out junkie that has never wore a suit in his life,Just look at the guys name jonathon . Lol His Names probably nicki noodles
I thought the music was fucking terrible, listenable and a treat to watch, but still utter shit. then I considered what acts have made it through the course of history, and their music is a masterpiece by comparison. seriously.
Yep, he couldn't care less about music. He only care about radio and rating to get his dream of fame and the star treatment. He is fake about everything. Jackie said on a podcast "when I met Howard he could care less about music. That was Dee Snyder..." (source podcast had boring in the name) Then we consider he didn't start to try to play music until late in life and that didn't go anywhere and he dropped it. Early 80's he has short hair then but dye in it. He talked about that on air. At the end of "US Open Sores" he can be heard talking with Robin about wearing a wig.
I like how everytime the lawyer starts talking they immediately start laughing at him
I remember this. The manager stick is awesome
I loved this segment then, and love it still. Classic. The manager is the best.

Hahaha that voice of his....😁
Moving away from that Howard....lol
" that's superfluous"
I love his voice
Compromisable.
Fred's impression of the manager at 6:38 is hilarious. lol!
damn this brought back great memories of when stern was on cable TV. great stuff.
I love how the manager thinks that Howard is actually going to make him an offer
the only deal more shocking then this is when beetlejuice turned downed transformers and said that aint got nothing to do with me buddy
I love how even Crackhead Bob can't believe these guys.
6:35 Fred "I got a deal for them to play at a bar" XD
The Jesus Twins were great!
Think of the magic that could have happened with the Jackie Puppet involved in this.
Oh god that woulda been great.
They had it..Howard liked them and then the record company called. They had their shot and blew it.
That got them on more and more shows. Imagine if Riley Martin or Eric The Midget just kissed ass. They extended their shelf life.
They totally blew it, delusions of grandeur...and totally schizophrenic😁
@@ChannelHandle143 true, it extended their life on the show, but they were supposedly trying to be musicians, and they blew that bigtime

Chaise Taylor yeah I think so too😁
They're actually nuts.

The song was actually better then most the songs on the soundtrack
The original island boys. History repeats itself.
