Yes, I agree... it is funny, the only videos I ever get negative comments is when we buy something in Thailand... the house and the bike... we didn't make a video on buying the car :) 😀

Some people will never have anything positive to say. Enjoy your new bike I'm sure you'll have lots of adventures on it. Xmax is a good fun go anywhere comfortably kind of bike.
Great looking scooter, I think the important thing here is you did a deal that your happy with and you have some trouble free ownership ahead. Well done. Shoes and gloves a must. 😊
Congrats on your purchase, nice scoot !,.. I know the feeling when your sitting on it at the end of the video with the thing fired up and people are talking to you and it’s going in one ear and out the other because all you wanna do is twist that throttle and Go !…lol , thanks for the heads up on that dealership , Do they rent bikes also ? , I’ll be in Hua Hin in December for one month,.. was wounding if you could recommend a place that rents bikes in Hua hin if this place doesn’t ,.. thanks , and have fun on your new ride !
Easy if you have a bike license in your home country. Just take passport, get proof of residency at immigration, home country license to Transport Dept. and they will give you a two year license. Have to watch a video and do a reaction test but no driving test. There are places that can sort your license for you at a price. Can do driers and bike at same time.
We have a second hand bike shop in Nakhon Sawan and yeah you paid a little too much, but the Xmax is reliable quick bike. Depending on where you live the Xmax is a bit big in tight traffic and you might want smaller 125 like the GT or Grand Filano. Those bikes you said were 250's are actually mostly 125's and 155's. 250cc are not popular here. And depending on what province and the mood of the police you are required to have a Thai licence if living here. And also same applies for the testing. I was unlucky and had to do ALL the tests plus driving. And that helmet will ONLY save you a fine and not ur life! Keep urself safe and DON'T trust anyone on the road in Thailand!
Thanks for commenting... I said 250's in the video??? My brain must have been thinking one thing and my mouth saying something else... my mistake.... I will be getting my license soon... out of country right now for a while.
Well you could have gone to Honda and got a new ADV 350 which I have far superior to any Yamaha, all for just over 200k the gov insurance is a waste of time it does not cover your bike in any accident also does not cover against theft, you need private insurance recommendation is Roojai very good and has a great App.
Suspension check. Most Farangs riding the 300's are stressing the weight limits. 😅 I would stress going for the motorcycle license first. The immigration service can be included if asked for and use Facebook market to compare prices. CC surcharge is the norm for small businesses. Happy for you.
You overpaid by at list 500$ I know this market as well as rest of east Asia’s. I would get cash and came already with it in my hands and I bet you I would’ve got it at least 17k baht cheaper
International driver license it should be, not from a certain country. Means you apply for a international driver license in your home country that you use. But usually the police accept your country driver license. I never had problems. Or one time in 15 years where the police asked for the international DL. I played stupid and got away with it-he was probably just after some bribe. The problem will be when your involved in a crash oe accident and don't have international DL or Thai DL.
Is the 300 faster in speed or/and acceleration than the 150cc? I checked before it seems there is not so much difference, at least wheb you compare their documents.
Can't disagree... bought it because there are two of us and we plan on going on some longer rides and road trips... this bike is more comfortable for longer rides for sure.
@@AlmostRetiredinThailand Just a thought from an expat in Chiang Mai: It's super easy to get a Thai driver's license that matches your US license. You'll get a separate license for a passenger car and one for a motorcycle. Save you from having to update your yearly international DL.
@AlmostRetiredinThailand Nice bike, as Dean said, a Thai licence is a better option. As a home owner it is frowned upon to keep renewing an IDP. Check your health insurance also to ensure bike riding is included in the coverage and take a good look at the included 12mths insurance that you got from the bike dealer as some offered minimal cover. Please bin the $5 helmet given for "free" a spend some of the. Cash you saved getting a used bike to go towards a couple of decent helmets that have a Euro or Western rating. Have fun, cheers Simon
At least 10.000 BHT over the going rate. You are not extremely savvy. If you live in Thailand, why would you not get a Thai Drivers License for the Car and a Bike?
10000 baht, about $300 USD... not going to worry too much about that... and the license is on my list of to do items... not a priority, should be, but not right now.
@@AlmostRetiredinThailandits pretty simple to get and you should do quickly. The insurance you got only covers for medical insurance up to 80,000 baht and nothing else.
Get rid of the helmet, it offers no protection whatsoever. Buy the most expensive helmet you can afford. It’s not a question of “if” you come off it but “when”. I was rear ended by a Thai on a bike and spent almost a year in and out of hospital. The hospital said that if it wasn’t for my helmet I would be dead. I was wearing a Shark Carbon Fibre helmet that cost 25,000 Baht. The helmet was hardly scratched. I suffered life changing damage injuries.
Sir, you certainly overpaid for that Xmax and you don't even have a Thai driver license yet..your international driver license means nothing to the police when you get pulled over. Thai Law, you MUST have a Thai Driver license.

OK... I had been pulled over in the past on Phuket... zero issues. Getting my Thai license is on my list of to do items... will be a priority some day. Probably faster, but way more comfortable and stable.
The "insurance" is mandatory and included in your registration.
It's also basically worthless.
Ok sure. Next year I pay for it myself. This year was in the price.
