I really like the 2022 Williams! Again a great review! The livery looks so good! I also noticed that you got much more confident in your reviews compared to your esrly videos!
Wow! Thank you! Making videos was a rando thing for me to start doing so I really appreciate the feedback. I started then stopped and now back to it. I am enjoying it more and the positive feedback is always an encouraging motivator to share my collection with fellow collectors. So again I really appreciate that comment. I do like the 2022 early season Williams as well. The late season morphs a bit into the typical 2022 design. So the unique side pod treatment and the livery make it a winner for me. I also like Albon's helmet scheme for this race as it works well with the rest of the car also.
No....so from what I can tell the typical clue is the box. If it comes in the "big" windowless box usually with the minichamps checkered flag or in team colors that is resin. If it is a CK Model Cars edition that so far has been resin. If it is in the "old school" window box that is diecast. I just got the Mercedes from CK Model edition so I expect that to be resin...Minichamps just released what looks like a "window" box version from a different race that on one site suggest it is diecast and another it is resin. I suspect it is diecast. To me it seems that Minichamps will mostly make resin for most but for Mercedes and Red Bull they make enough versions that they will make both diecast and resin varriants. As a collector I would love insider info on how they decided to produce what they do and in what materials. In alternative life I think it would have been fun to work for Minichamps!
For larger side gill openings, not sure why Minichamps didn't open them up on this model seeing it is resin and would use a completely different mold than the diecast version. 🤔 With the amount of cars you collect, have you considered buying one of 1/18 scale Amalgam F1 cars?
@Keyaan25 Yeah, I know! 😂 I suspect he can afford one though. Four or five 1/18 scale Spark F1 cars is about the same price as one Amalgam in 1/18 scale.
I do wish on the resins they would do something about the radiator and air intakes. Maybe it is too much to ask at this price point but a decal might be sufficient. Honestly in real life they are just openings so not sure there any mesh coverings as I suggested in my video. The old days had that more so maybe they are correct in just trying to portray an opening...just make in deeper in the future? As for Amalgam I have not thought about their 1/18th. I collect a lot so while I clearly spend a lot on model cars I have my limits on individual models. Amalgam in 1/18th for me are too expensive. I have seen a few in shops and they are very very nice but Exoto made opening part models that Amalgam do not. If I bought one car from a season okay maybe I would do it but for me I want to buy the entire grid so Spark and Minichamps and BBR work for me. To add to that I do have 2x 1/12th Amalgam F1's (2012/2013 Ferrari's) that are very nice and I would be more apt to buy that scale from them if they made them in the future.

Are all 2022 and 2023 minichamps 1/18 f1 cars resin?
