When you said, " I still have to clean and wax it...that doesn't take much time....", it made me want to ask a question. I tried to find Super Duty on Amazon. There was only a gallon size for sale and it said about one month for shipping. I found another product that had the words, "Super Duty" trademarked. I ended up getting 3M Tan rubbing compound " for highly oxidized gelcoat. Q:1 Is that basically the same as "Super Duty"? Anyhow, i tried some 3M Marine cleaner and wax (combined) and it seemed to do pretty well on lightly oxidized gellcoat. Q:2 Do I need to strip it and wax again or will it be good for at least part of the season? Thanks for your time.
Q1, Basically, yes. It's not as aggressive but it makes Heavy Cut look like butter. Q2, re-wax in about 2 months and keep that going till you buff her again. A mix has compound and wax.. There's no way to seperate them once they're mixed so your finish is mostly wax with some compound. You want all "wax" and the want to keep it clean and topped-off with more "wax" every few months. That lasts the longest. You can also try to find a marine boat wax to use every few months as an alternative which I think might be better for the overall results. What you did is OK, just not the best you can have. Lee

The Silverton right? The Australian floatie? She looks good. You even managed to keep the bottom paint clean (most don't)
Thanks!
