This is the episode that made me realize why i prefer the character Xuan Ji over the character Jinmi from Ashes of Love. Although Xuan Ji can't love she isn't completely oblivious to the feelings of the people around her. She knows that she is lacking something that causes her to misunderstand things sometimes and it unsettles her enough to try to figure things out so she won't hurt her friends and family.

As a person who already recovered six senses, she was supposed to be more understandable, but she wasn’t, she couldn’t even notice that how many times Sifeng acted like the one who tried to stop the fight between lize palace and the five sects, she didn’t even try to understand that because her senior killed the young members in lize palace, that’s why Sifeng changed his mind and decided to fight back, she only complained about that he lied to her again, even if these were so obvious to see, but they just didn’t go through her mind, and that’s why I said she barely put herself in his shoes afterward. In fact, after Xuan ji realized She had misunderstood Sifeng, before she went looking for him, she said “ I didn’t even try to listen to him, I didn’t even think about what he wants”, and this is what I’m trying to say here, for a while she did see everything without trying to put herself in his shoes, she only concerned abt the fact that he lied to her and how he was gonna hurt her closed ones, so even if Sifeng’s lie about his true identity was obviously the turning point for the loss of her trust in him, but I do think the recovering of six senses led to the growth of her self-awareness, when her self-awareness had become “stronger” than before, she began to see things in her own shoes more than Sifeng’s, this is what I’m trying to say, and that’s why when I see your comment here, it made me think of this again. I still think it’s a good story, since it’s about “redemption”, I don’t really expect either of them to be perfect, it’s more about both of them growing together and become a better person for each other, and I actually think maybe because Xuanji was born with defective six sense in this life, that’s why she could give Sifeng more love in return than she was in the previous 9 reincarnations. Btw, I actually think the reason why Xuanji cannot stand the lie from the one she loves and trusts the most, even if it’s a white lie, is due to how Luoho was murdered and betrayed 1000 years ago.

He should've just told her the truth. After he pretended to be the evil star dude she really didn't believe anything he said even when he was trying to tell her the truth.

This is one of my fav ep in the show. You can see Xuanji trying so hard to understand and get better, try to care for and protect the people around her. Show love to the people that love her. I totally understand why Sifeng fell in love with her: she is honest and never malicious or petty, she is loyal and loving to those who are good to her, she treats him like he is special. That’s why he’s so hurt when he thinks that she treats everyone that way because she can’t differentiate. But we see what he can’t- from the beginning even if she was nice to everyone, she still treated him like he was special: she paid attention to what he was doing, thinking, feeling, she trusted his advice implicitly and never wanted to let anyone ever hurt him. She is a pure spirit that he wanted to protect and nurture. I think with her he could truly let down his guard and relax.
