Deconi Elite Velour made my DT-1990 sound pretty descent (attenuated the infamous BD treble) and theyr now superdupercomfy to wear,, 💖🥰💖
Deconi Elite Velour also made my AKG 371 feel like wearing a million dollar,, 😎🤘‍‍
    Cheers from Sweden,, 🍻🌟👍‍‍

Good video and change of pace. Have actually tried an abundance of pads on the Sennheiser 650’s and Beyerdynamic DT990’s. The original pads probably sound closest to how they are meant to sound, and they seem comfortable enough, until you try some big plush pads that often drastically change the tuning (somehow palpating returned?) but if you can live with a different (not necessarily better or worse) tuning, then you can achieve much greater comfort. Dekoni pads are good quality but you can also get much cheaper ones to try first for around 8 to 10 bucks on Amazon and elsewhere.

Yes I found the same issues as you. Soundstage treble and air was definately downgraded. Beyer knew what they were doing when they designed the pads. Ive found that those perforations on the under side increase the sound stage some how.

My tip, just get the OEM pads direct from a Beyer seller. Changed many pads on the Beyers and Senny's and nothing beats the stock original in terms of sound quality.

I would tend agree about the sound, have pad swapped countless times on hd650 and 990, but they do seem tuned for that particular pad distance you get from the stock originals. The other pads change the sound quite dramatically, but then on the other hand, the comfort can be significantly improved with other pads, and that’s the other half of the battle.

So even the leather Dekoni pads (if I understood your conclusion correctly) reduce the original sound quality of the DT 990 pro and are muddy. It is very disappointing that there is no company of high-quality pads that which do not impoverish the sound imaging of headphones of this level. Too bad.

Yes, you understood correctly! Maybe I'll try the Meze 99 Classics or Sundara later.

Hello Sir I need a suggestion I'm currently using Moondrop SSR(my first IEM) which I love though I've heard some find it to be shouty or on the brighter side. Which means I'm not sensitive to peaky treble or mids. Now I'm planning to get a new IEM which is good at detail retrieval and is transparent sounding. I won't mind if it's bright or warm sounding as long as I get great details for the price alongside being transparent sounding. I've read reviews of Etymotic ER2SE is somewhat similar to what I'm looking for but it's way over my budget. I want to get a set at the minimum price possible. The max I can stretch my budget is 70-90$. I have two options in my mind considering detail retrieval in that price range, first the Simgot EA500lm but I've heard these are coloured and not transparent at all(which is why I'm hesitant to go for it) second is the Truthear Hexa which is relatively transparent and warm relaxed sounding but has good detail retrieval for its price. There's another IEM that I have my eye on is the Tanchjim 4u which isn't available in my country(India) through a retailer as of now. I'm not sure if I should wait for it yo arrive or go for any other alternative. I could even go for anything between the Truthear GATE or Tangzu Wan'er Studio Edition if they're somewhat transparent sounding with good detail retrieval and offer excellent value 'cause all I want is a natural sounding transparent IEM with great detail retrieval for its price (be it brightly tuned or on the warmer side). and I'm not an audiophile I just listen to classical genre and qawwali sometimes.
Please suggest me an IEM considering everything I've described above. Thanks in advance.
P.s. - I don't mind if there's not enough base to make it sound balanced.
