I think it would be really cool if you did a series where you took a look at every star card in a class and then gave them a brief analysis and rated them out of 10 for usefulness or something like that.
I think the recharge card on officer is underrated. I not only get a ton of points, I recharge my own abilities as well as my teammates and we last much longer at defending.
Here's my opinion: The acid launcher is great. It's a staple for me whenever I play extraction because it either kills whoever doesn't move from the payload, or it lets my team take control. I love it in Capital Supremacy and Galactic Assault too where I can just clear out the enemy from the objective. Now I actually think the SIG is overrated. I don't find turrets hard to avoid and it's a really situational ability. It's not bad, but I prefer the Acid Launcher and the Thermal Detonator. Circling back to the Smart Ion Grenade, I also think that the Heavy's Ion torpedo is a much better vehicle killer. It deals so much damage and is one of my favorite setups as the separatists on Geonosis Galactic Assault against the AT-TE. The Mobile Sentry is more situational to your sentry playstyle. I prefer the normal sentry as it keeps decent damage and movement, but for someone who moves around a lot, I'd highly recommend the card. I'm not going to give an opinion on the Defuser since I've never used it, but I do like my Flash Grenade so keep that in mind.
The Smart Ion Grenade can still act somewhat as the Assault's version of the Impact Grenade as deals decent damage, and Turrets aren't really situational, they be placed virtually anywhere where there are enemies which further increases the abilities use.
rockmycd13 yeah but I just prefer to do more damage with the TD or clear out the area with the acid launcher. I also normally don’t find it hard to avoid turrets. What I meant by situational was the vehicle portion of its effectiveness. There’s not always a vehicle near by. You’re entitled to your own opinion though so if you want to use it go ahead.
@@absol4785 Obviously not, but when there are, a SIG can help take it down quickly (especially with vehicals with high health like the AT-ST) and can also one shot speeders.
Blast Command is also underated in my oppinion, everyone always go for the Improved Battle Command or Recharge Command. This starcard cancels any Discharge officers, gives 10sec of unlimited fire power to any ranged weapons, including the NT 242 sniper and some vehicules. Also it grants 100 BP for any kills done by allies during the buff, which is great.
5. THANK YOU. I love using the acid launcher not just because of being crowd control over time, bu because aiming grenades isn't really my strong point. It saddens me to see so few people disregard it as just a weaker dioxis grenade. 4-1 Huh, I never knew that about (insert respective Star Card here)
I agree with pretty much all those. I was tinkering with diffuser and recharge command a few days ago in the capital ships and I think it has some potential but I need to work with it a little more to see if it really helps crack through some of those strong holds in the final phase.
Defuser has always been one of my favorite star cards. Unfortunately I’ve dealt with it not working properly plenty of times, despite the grenade being well within the radius. This usually when the grenade in question is a Thermal Imploder, so I pretty much get evaporated.
Ion torpedo and turret with mobile sentry is awesome on Hoth as imp to take out Rebels starfighters, as Droid on Naboo for turrets and starfighters, and as Imp on Crait to get ski speeders to clean up battle points to get AT-ST which then helps capture 2nd checkpoint and racks up battle points to get a Hero for last checkpoint.
BlakKlaa2 What I like to do as the First Order on Crait. I use the Specialist with the burst fire A280 with “ion shot” because it does quite a lot of damage and a lot of points. Or the NT242 with “disruptor shot” if I want more range
I actually do use the mobile sentry! Another thing I think you forgot to add is that health regeneration will persist while the mobile sentry is active!
I use the mobile sentry card religiously, and figured lots of other people did too, so I’m surprised that it’s on this list! I can’t stand how slow you move with the other sentries. It feels almost as if you’re “glued” to the spot you activate them, and I like the ability to duck behind some cover or move slightly out of the range of an enemy grenade. The lack of a timer when you’re not using it is a very nice bonus too 👌🏻
Defuser recharge command and disruption star card load up is great too. If your good at aiming you can be really unstoppable when played right. Grenades won’t kill you and the enemy can’t shoot you for a few secs and when it runs out and another groups comes just hit recharge and you repeat it again. Disrupting someone twice is so satisfying and guaranteed you’ll win the gun fight especially against inforcers
I've fought them before. I was up against a party that was controlling the hangar with 4 or 5 active ion turrets and torpedoes, about 3 snipers, and a large number of officers. There were a few assaults as well. The Ion turrets were spread along the edges by the far walls so you couldn't hide from them easily. They had the tunnel exits pretty well locked down with turrets and infantry and I was unable to push with an AT-ST because of all the ion fire. Needless to say, we lost pretty spectacularly.
Don't know if anyone knows about this but the AT-TEs have a sweet spot that you can melt them with. One heavy soldier can put the vehicle to half health if they use the normal sentry gun, and that's if they're lucky not to be noticed by the galactic republic.
I use ion grenade, ion launcher, and defuser on my main builds for all of those classes, so I'm glad they made the list! At far as mobile sentry, it's my favorite of the three upgrades as well. However, rather than that, I usually run with the Improved Combat Shield and what I personally consider to be the most underrated star card for the Heavy class, which is Expert Weapon Handling. That's the card that increases the duration of your unlimited cooling after a perfect reload. When coupled with the Heavy's main weapons, it allows you to fire for an INSANE amount of time before your next overheat, which allows you to maintain near-constant fire on a position. It can really screw with other players' heads if they're expecting or waiting for you to let up for a moment, only to jump out of cover and end up with a faceful of blaster bolts. Combined with the Improved Combat Shield, it really does feel like it turns you into a walking tank.
1 : You won a sub 2 : There is also the personal shield for the specialist. Nobody use it but I win lot of infiltration or escort scenarios with this. Combined with the infiltration ability who make you run more fast it's super useful !
I think Recharge Command is legit the best, if not one of the best star cards in the game. Not only is the recharge boost actually incredible, but the recharge also recharges your recharge command ability, so you can just keep spamming the ability every 15-20 seconds or so, and enjoy super fast flash nades and turrets or whatever else you're running. I often throw a nade, use the recharge, throw another nade immediately after, and I'll have another one in like 12 seconds (or whatever super fast recharge it has). Plus it works on teammates too. No better starcard for defending capital ships in CS.
assault is too much of a killstreak god with health on kill, toughen up, & health regen card, the stock vanguard is good enough with a good range blaster like the A280 or EL-16
Do more ! I like being an Imperial sniper with laser trigger mines in Extraction on Jabba's Palace between first and 2nd checkpoint with Stinger Pistol on the 2nd level with Stealth card shooting all oblivious Rebels as they scurry up the staircase especially Wookie warriors. I place a trip mine on each stairway to protect my position and then multi-hit pick off all Rebels as they try to finish 2nd or even 3rd checkpoint , LOL.
Great vid, would love to see another one :) I personally think I've gotten more kills with the specialist's trip mine than with the thermal detonator. I love placing one just inside a doorway where it's hard to see. Definately useful in tight maps, and particularly in game modes like Extraction and Blast. A placed mine is active for some time after you've been killed, and I've often seen my killer run straight into it after having taken me out. Holy cow is that satisfying. It's also a great way to cover your six if you wanna do some sniping or whatever from a certain spot and don't wanna constantly check behind you.
I always have used the ion grenade, so useful in a lot of situations. The defuser is interesting, I didn’t know much about it. I also use officer presence, regen command, and increased BP
Kristoffer S B One time on Extraction on Kessel when the mode just came out I activated defuser and then 2 lots of barrages came through and about another 2 or 3 grenades, which happened within half a second which no doubt saved my team. So satisfying to hear the defusing sound
Yes, another 5 would be great! I've used the acid launcher for a while after seeing it in one of your vids, but some of those others I've never used and now I have no idea why not
Assault Flash Pistol is quite good and useful as a mid range weapon between either rifle and the shotgun. There are so many good assault cards that it's not usually worth using but try it out to mix it up sometime.
Honestly, all these cards I use besides the Ion Torpedo. I’ve never used the Ion Torpedo but it will definitely help on virtually every map that has to do with a vehicle objective. You gave me an idea 😏 Awesome video! Now onto pt. 2!!!!!
The problem with the Mobile Sentry is that it overheats too quickly and you take a significant damage nerf for mobility. Honestly, they should remove it altogether and replace it with an Ion Sentry, just like the regular sentry but does double damage to vehicles and turrets but less damage to infantry and heroes.
I think people need to change up their star cards during games for different stages. Which is why I wish they would bring load outs. For example once a battle enters corridors I'll switch to my boarding action build for a heavy. Explosive blaster. Shield. Bodyguard.
1. Explosive sentry versus super heavy vehicles such as at-at and mtt. You'll get 1200-1500 points per usage 2. Defender card+bounty hunter. Everytime you die you get usually 340 points, you get shot etc. I always run it. so lets assume someone Ion turrents the At at you start unleashing the explosive sentry then like normal you get shot. You are going to get 1500-1800 points. 3. For snipers, stealth/personal shield, bounty hunter. Use the Aim with shield glitch up then dropfire shield. You will be a god sniper. 4. Officer, that's easy. bounty, presence, recharge or superbuff. 5. If you are on offense on large maps, bounty hunter, defender and ion missile. that's for aircraft. Officer use the 50, heavy use the fwbk. Blurrg is now a trash gun, all the other heavy guns are trash have no accuracy, and if you use the SR2 as an assault you are just trash lol. That's the worst gun in the game. the tl50 is good for upclose levels but nothing more. The s5 is good on large levels but you shouldn't be using officer on large levels UNLESS, YOU HAVE A HERO ON YOUR SQUAD THEN USE RECHARGE COMMAND.
Acid launcher underused? DAMN! been using it often when knowing Kamino, Naboo, Hoth and kashyyk at least when small choke hold point or capture point and just lob it in to damage or dispersing away to get shot at.
When someone uses that on a small game mode, thats when I equip the flash pistol as an Assault and kill them with that. I say it is humiliating to kill someone like that with the flash pistol and because they expect an easy kill, just whipping that thing out always surprises them. But I only do that in small game modes because its better to use something else in GA or CS
Nice video. I would say the recharge command is vastly underrated. It has a quicker recharge time than the other cards, allowing for you to get more points. I love using it.
I started using the Ion grenade after I watched Sammyboii’s assault class guide. I like it because it can deal with BOTH vehicles AND infantry. Although when against infantry it takes a while to detonate
I find myself using the basic classes alot since heroes are constantly picked and this video was definitely very useful it'll try the acid launcher / defuser / ion grenade / mobile centry to have some kind of diversity in the setups that I always use. Thank you !
I always use the Ion grenade. Those turrets gets annoying and an easy way to get rid of them. I don't rely on grenade kills anyways so might as well have something useful. It can also be used as a sort of a less effective trip mine since it usually only explodes when near players, turrets, or vehicles.
Always good to hear some opinion on making things fresh, or to try something unexpectedly good. Maybe these are harder to make, but I hope you make more map guides! Those are the best!
I think the detonation charge on the heavy you know that thing that Han solo has, is underused to when I role into a crowd of enemy's place it and then roll out I get 2 or more kills at once and I never see anybody using it :C
I love the ion torpedoe I always play vehicle modes as I love them especially on my favorite map Geonosis in GA and the ion grenade is so helpful And I just came across the defuser on my own and I love it
I use the disruptor myself. I find it's fairly uncommon, yet extremely helpful for pushing into crowded rooms. I've gotten some shocking multi-kills using it during a flank. I have a clip of me taking on about 5 guys and winning because of it and a well executed flank.
Massive fan of the acid, SIG, defuser and Ion torpedo. Might have to give the mobile sentry another go! Honourable mentions: Thermal Binoculars, improved scan dart and disruptor
Time to try out the mobile sentry jobby! I used to use diffuser when I first started playing, perhaps time for a revisit! Acid launcher, ion grenade, ion torpedo are all currently staples for me. Great video Sammy, personally I need to change it up a bit for some variety 😊
About PC version: yeah, defuser is VERY handy when trying to survive, because everyone just spam grenades. Talking about mobile sentry - it's useless. It runs out very fast and usually you become the target for the entire server. All other sentry modes can actually provide you enough damage to kill at least 1 enemy and survive, but the mobile version - it's just NAH. tbh, PC and console gameplays are VERY different, really, they are
I haven’t played for more than a week Because I feel like the game isn’t bringing any joy. I’ll be playing tommarow and I hope that I get back that joy to say
Personaly i dont see many heavys use the barrage starcard and its honestly gr8 especialy if you are holding a choke point... if you combine barrage with resorcefull you can just rain thoes granades on the enemies, it just turns you into a granade spammer hahaha... Also i dont see many ppl use stinger pistol on specialist and its actualy pretty decent
Thanks Sammy, yes please to a follow up. Thinking the improved shock grenade is under rated for the specialist, been using it recently and it’s really good
Prince Charming the improved shock grenade has a higher radius and I think it does a little more damage as well. Great for holding enemies up to get some shots in.
I think it would be really cool if you did a series where you took a look at every star card in a class and then gave them a brief analysis and rated them out of 10 for usefulness or something like that.
Yes please do this
Yes, I haven't changed my star cards for Assault since last year
I think the recharge card on officer is underrated. I not only get a ton of points, I recharge my own abilities as well as my teammates and we last much longer at defending.

Brawler, survivor, personal shield. The Punchalist is hilariously overpowered
The bubble brawler strategy
I love playing as a specialist, but haven't tried this loadout yet. Maybe I should :)
I do that all the time in strike
Defuser has always been one of my favorite star cards. Unfortunately I’ve dealt with it not working properly plenty of times, despite the grenade being well within the radius. This usually when the grenade in question is a Thermal Imploder, so I pretty much get evaporated.

Dude these gameplay representations in the video are spot on!
Imagine a whole team with ion abilities on endor or crait.
malcolm what have you done
I've fought them before. I was up against a party that was controlling the hangar with 4 or 5 active ion turrets and torpedoes, about 3 snipers, and a large number of officers. Geonosois is classic for that on the CIS side because of the at walkers. Everyone on crait just use snipers until the 2nd phase. No fun

Please do a part 2 of this video and it would be cool if you made an overrated/overused star cards video
Acid launcher also doubles as a warning. Whenever someone is in contact with acid you get notified.
I think Recharge Command is legit the best, if not one of the best star cards in the game. YES! Trip mines are great in Extraction :)
I totally forgot about defuser. Used to use it all the time when I was leveling up my infantry in extraction. Very good as antinade spam

I reckon officer’s presence and battle command are both so underused and underrated
The Ion Rocket Launcher has three shots? I palyed so long and never knew D:
I use the mobile sentry all the time! I love that it makes me move better when I use it!
The homing shot for officer must be a godly one for CS, I'm gonna try it
the ion grenade is a great tool to finish enemies or to attack a group of them at half hp in a second.
I always have used the ion grenade, so useful in a lot of situations. The defuser is interesting, I didn’t know much about it. I also use officer presence, regen command, and increased BP
I used defuser yesterday on capital supremacy 2nd phase and got over 1000 points with one use. Crazy

Awesome video! Now onto pt. 2!!!!!
I use the assault and heavy just for their gas and torpedo abilities!
Smart Ion Grenade bonus tip: It one shots speeder nerf herders
The problem with the Mobile Sentry is that it overheats too quickly and you take a significant damage nerf for mobility. Honestly, they should remove it altogether and replace it with an Ion Sentry, just like the regular sentry but does double damage to vehicles and turrets but less damage to infantry and heroes.
The mobile sentry and supercharged sentry actually have the same movement speed. Unless DICE stealth-changed it in some update.
You'll get 1200-1500 points per usage
The s5 is good on large levels but you shouldn't be using officer on large levels UNLESS, YOU HAVE A HERO ON YOUR SQUAD THEN USE RECHARGE COMMAND.
regular grenades are a waste of a star card. if you need a projectile, use smart ion grenade is the best
The ion torpedo is also excellent for taking out pesky speeders as well.
I’ve used the gas grenade as I preferred it to the thermal detonator. I’ve got loads of kills with them.
Finally i found a starwars channel worth my time
You have my support
The Ion torpedo May be good, but I don’t know if I can give up barrage
You can use both, Barrage takes the spot of the Shield while Ion Torpedo replaces your Impact Grenade.
I use them all depending on the map and objectives. Love every single one of them. Very helpful. Thanks for the vid.
Acid launcher underused? DAMN! been using it often when knowing Kamino, Naboo, Hoth and kashyyk at least when small choke hold point or capture point and just lob it in to damage or dispersing away to get shot at.
you should make a video of the most annoying cards, I HATE the disruption card Such a CHEAP ability overheats ur weapon
Often when what someone does in a game like this annoys you, it simply means that they're good at playing the game, making the most of the abilities.
When someone uses that on a small game mode, thats when I equip the flash pistol as an Assault and kill them with that. I say it is humiliating to kill someone like that with the flash pistol and because they expect an easy kill, just whipping that thing out always surprises them. But I only do that in small game modes because its better to use something else in GA or CS
berganssekk so not being able to shoot back makes them good, ok
I don't know which class you play, but the Blast Command counters disruption if you use it when your weapon is overheated.
Disruptor shot for specialist is a bad ass vehicle killee
Nice video. I would say the recharge command is vastly underrated. It has a quicker recharge time than the other cards, allowing for you to get more points. I love using it.

I think the detonation charge on the heavy you know that thing that Han solo has, is underused to when I role into a crowd of enemy's place it and then roll out I get 2 or more kills at once and I never see anybody using it :C
The infantry turret MKII is underused. When placed correctly that thing is a nightmare.
Underused..? There are like 10 people using them per game man hahah
I love the ion torpedoe
I always play vehicle modes as I love them especially on my favorite map Geonosis in GA and the ion grenade is so helpful
And I just came across the defuser on my own and I love it

what i use that i see barely anyone use is acid launcher prob one of the best for pushing
Can we get an Iden guide?
The mobile sentry does go down slowly it's hard to notice but does go down
Massive fan of the acid, SIG, defuser and Ion torpedo. Might have to give the mobile sentry another go!
Honourable mentions: Thermal Binoculars, improved scan dart and disruptor
I knew you'd love all of these!
Great video, a lot I knew but a lot I didn't and new advice is always appreciated.
I always use the acid launcher
Time to try out the mobile sentry jobby! I used to use diffuser when I first started playing, perhaps time for a revisit! Acid launcher, ion grenade, ion torpedo are all currently staples for me. Great video Sammy, personally I need to change it up a bit for some variety 😊
Glad I could help Carly! 😊
I use all of these cards and a few mentioned in the comments, pretty regularly
I’m loving the acid launcher 👍🏻👍🏻 I laughed when it was the first card you did in the vid. Yes please on the specialist 👍🏻👍🏻
Great vid sammy!
I see a lot of officers using diffuser, although I never use it
As someone who uses defuser, it’s very inconsistent
About PC version: yeah, defuser is VERY handy when trying to survive, because everyone just spam grenades. Talking about mobile sentry - it's useless. It runs out very fast and usually you become the target for the entire server. All other sentry modes can actually provide you enough damage to kill at least 1 enemy and survive, but the mobile version - it's just NAH.
tbh, PC and console gameplays are VERY different, really, they are
I haven’t played for more than a week Because I feel like the game isn’t bringing any joy. I’ll be playing tommarow and I hope that I get back that joy to say
The fact that you didn't include Scamble Infiltration is Heresy
I use the Ion torpedo all the time for the Heavy.
Easy points.
You should make a video similar to this but for hero cards. Great vid
Fun fact: the ion grenade can actually kill infantry if they’re near a turret or if they have a shield
You can see it in the video
Yeah I did mention that man haha 👍
The E-22 should be added for the assault, change my mind.
We need more weapons for all classes
Can you test if Obi Wan's mind trick disables the commando droid vibosword from melee?
I used to use the sig a lot and it is really good
What about shield + target rocket + officers presence with the officer? O.o
could u do a hero guide on palpatine, i feel like u play him like a blaster hero
I didn’t even know that last one existed lol and I play almost everyday 🤗
Are u going to be doing more hero guides? They r very helpful
I watch a lot of anarchyxninja and he uses the ion grenade a lot
Thanks Sammy, yes please to a follow up. Thinking the improved shock grenade is under rated for the specialist, been using it recently and it’s really good
Thomas Masters could you explain to me what is different between the regular and improved shock grenade? I haven’t played in a while
Prince Charming the improved shock grenade has a higher radius and I think it does a little more damage as well. Great for holding enemies up to get some shots in.
Thank you! I finally updated the game today and just realized how many clone skins there are lol 😅
I use the acid launcher
Among the first, yeah!!
The flash pistol is underated but I like using it
Why is ion torpedo on this list? I hardly see heavys not using that
How about review stinger pistol and flash pistol?
Been using the acid launcher since day 1😤😤I’ve been trying get ppl on the way👀
GsquadGamer Acid Launcher and the Improved Scan Dart for a lot of assist points
Flash Pistol should take the SIG's spot.
I’m definitely trying the defuser
Do you think you could do best weapons for each class on different maps/game modes?
