There is absolutely nothing wrong with him sleeping on a mattress on the floor in your room. Sooner or later he will probably change his mind and want to sleep in his room. You have to let him feel comfortable so he will sleep or you will be up all night. You do what you have to do to sleep yourself so you can be a good mom. No sleep is not good for you of him. When I first realized you were going to cover that window, I thought of all those reasons why I wouldn't cover it. But I quickly remembered your weather and...how awesome it will be to have that whole wall as a blank slate. And...you can always take the wood off if you ever decided you want the window back. Living in the UK our summer temperatures are a fraction of yours but my bedroom is south facing so I have my blackout blinds at half mast all summer long so I completely empathise with losing the window 👍. Wow Kim your wall is beautiful 😍 years ago I had my sons room done with wood but it was horizontal half way up the wall, I loved that room, I was happy to hear you say your leaving the wood natural as it just looks so bright and airy, I’m sure you already know this, if you use clear varnish on the wood it makes it a lot easier to remove dust, I’m so looking forward to seeing it all complete 🥰 As for Levi sleeping In your room with you, I would do the same thing as you if he was my son and slept better in the same room as mum, until you have experience with kids, young adults on the spectrum you honestly don’t understand it fully 🥰💖💖💖💖

You know on the outside over the window you could put up a section of lattes snd plant a climbing Rose on it which would not only be beautiful but also help block the light even more keeping the heat from coming through to the wood covering your wall which would make the room even cooler ! It’s just a thought I had to help keep even more heat from coming through to the wood and also add Beauty to that side of your house , maybe a yellow climbing rose would look beautiful against the.barn red of your house !! We learned quickly why her neighbors always had blinds and windows permanently shut. Even though there is a breeze, that fooled us several times. Oh, and don't leave your ice water on your wood or glass table 😂 It sweats no matter how cool you think it is inside the house. I'm about to buy some trim to put on my wardrobe doors, to make them look a little more interesting. I guess I'm enjoying the preperations as much as the work itself. Hours of online research to figure out where to get what, to save as much money as possible, as well as working on the layout on paper. I'm weird, lol.

My house is a cottage style built in 1900 and both my bedrooms only have one window so I don’t think the world is going to end because you now have one window. I live in southern Virginia and while not Texas hot here, our humidity is ridiculous.

Hi Kim! My autistic son slept in his bed for years and then all of a sudden he only wanted his mattress on the floor. He slept there for about 2 years and then one day he wanted back in his normal bed. We never did figure it out but just know that sometimes these kids go through phases and we just have to roll with it! My son is now 25 and a bit more severe than Levi. I love watching him and watching how well you parent him. You're doing a great job!

I love it! I live in southern AZ and we don’t open our windows either. The previous owners of my house covered the three westward facing windows over with sheet rock (or something like that) in the master bedroom. It keeps that room cooler, tempwise. So from the outside, the windows just look shuttered, cannot tell they are non functional. I am like you, Kim, have to have AC, floor fan and ceiling fan to be comfy at night.

An antique mirror would also be beautiful above the headboard with art on the side of it like you were saying. The light from the window would reflect off the mirror to make it brighter. Anything you do is beautiful!
First the wall looks fantastic! Second my thoughts about it was yes one less window to wash and one less blind for the cats to get into cause my cat loves nothing better than getting windows and he doesn't care if the blind is down or up. Hi Kim I love the wall it looks beautiful and fresh with the warm natural wood !! I can’t wait to see when you get the whole room finished ! You know on the outside over the window you could put up a section of lattes snd plant a climbing Rose on it which would not only be beautiful but also help block the light even more keeping the heat from coming through to the wood covering your wall which would make the room even cooler ! It’s just a thought I had to help keep even more heat from coming through to the wood and also add Beauty to that side of your house , maybe a yellow climbing rose would look beautiful against the.barn red of your house !! I think they wake up like that daily; It's their character. My daughter just moved to Conroe Texas from California. I spent 5 wks there helping her unpack. We learned quickly why her neighbors always had blinds and windows permanently shut. Even though there is a breeze, that fooled us several times. Oh, and don't leave your ice water on your wood or glass table 😂 It sweats no matter how cool you think it is inside the house. It just means you have to wash an already older comforter more often. The side lamp is harsh in the video. Is it like that to the eye? If so a shade style will diffuse it. Looks great!

I think it looks amazing so far! Can't wait to see the finished room. These DIY projects are so much fun, as exhausting as it all can be. I'm about to buy some trim to put on my wardrobe doors, to make them look a little more interesting. I guess I'm enjoying the preperations as much as the work itself. Hours of online research to figure out where to get what, to save as much money as possible, as well as working on the layout on paper. I'm weird, lol.

Kim that looks so nice and I love how the furniture and colors you have in the bedroom really set it off. My house is a cottage style built in 1900 and both my bedrooms only have one window so I don’t think the world is going to end because you now have one window. I live in southern Virginia and while not Texas hot here, our humidity is ridiculous.

Hi Kim! My autistic son slept in his bed for years and then all of a sudden he only wanted his mattress on the floor. He slept there for about 2 years and then one day he wanted back in his normal bed. We never did figure it out but just know that sometimes these kids go through phases and we just have to roll with it! My son is now 25 and a bit more severe than Levi. I love watching him and watching how well you parent him. You're doing a great job!

I love it! I live in southern AZ and we don’t open our windows either. The previous owners of my house covered the three westward facing windows over with sheet rock (or something like that) in the master bedroom. It keeps that room cooler, tempwise. So from the outside, the windows just look shuttered, cannot tell they are non functional. I am like you, Kim, have to have AC, floor fan and ceiling fan to be comfy at night.
