this is 80% because of the denoiser. set a low setting and adding denoiser pass doesn't always work in all scenarios. but it's a good share

what if i'm not using nvidia but amd rx580?

  • @e.e.1520

The irradiance map has been deprecated in Vray 6 and it is slow and messed up my shadows when I tried to use it, I will try everything else, my problem is that I have animated grass in my scene that I used chaos scatter to spread on the lawn, which I think is the main reason for my slow render times.

I'm using light mix in my scene and have to choose brutal not irradiance map. my render took over 11 hours and wasn't done. (it got interrupted). when I reduce certain numbers (such as mentioned in the vid), I get noise even though I'm using vray denoiser. pls what can I do to reduce the time and still have good quality?

hi there please let me know how did you achieve those rounded ceiling defuse lights using irradiance map. i use vray mash light but its really uneven and looks bad. but if switched to brute force its looks fine like yours but the render time and noise is unbearable. thanks.

You have saved my life, thank you!! Using 2021 Max and Vray Next, however I must say there are details that were missed but these are insignificant to the output I needed, so THANK YOU!
