When i applied things step by step by watching your video and at the end i click the render button i was shocked. Because i just blinked and the render was complete. Today many artists (including me) consider that irradiance map is obselete. Now with brute force+light cache combined with denoiser you can get better and faster results than irradiance map. Last video of Adan Martin showcase this point.

  • @cam0techunks

this is 80% because of the denoiser. set a low setting and adding denoiser pass doesn't always work in all scenarios. but it's a good share

The irradiance map has been deprecated in Vray 6 and it is slow and messed up my shadows when I tried to use it, I will try everything else, my problem is that I have animated grass in my scene that I used chaos scatter to spread on the lawn, which I think is the main reason for my slow render times.

i wouldn't go below max subdivs 16 for final images. especially for interior images. i don't like the look of heavy denoising.
for a final high res interior image with a resolution of 5000x5000 pixel, it's completely ok to have render times of 2 hours...doesn't matter anyways if you let it render over night.
for previews it's ok to use lower values.
