Going by Toyota's claim the batteries in the aqua can last at least 10yrs or more and in terms of mileage its around 150,000 to 200,000kms. Nissan on the other hand claim upto around 240,000kms or between 10 to 15yrs so both are almost at par.
You can get the service at NSA garage, they specialise on hybrid cars, as for the quotation for battery replacement they will give you the exact amount though it can cost over 150k
It doesn't share the same cvt problems with the basic note because it doesn't have a cvt transmission so reliability wise it's a bit better hoping the constant single speed will fair well in the Kenyan market. Nice to know your choice
Models from around 2011, 2012 and 2013 are more affordable going for between 650k to around 1m depending on the mileage and condition but being a hybrid its best to get one with less than 100,000 kms

I have a Aqua GR, has been running great so far, back leg room could be better but it can carry 4 adults ok (inclusive of the driver)

on these two I'd go for the Note e-power.. hoping it doesn't share the problems with the base CVT Nissan Note

Yes it is as long as you get one with low mileage
