We need unpredictable Conor not just karate strikes... Fainting punches and setting them up to where you corner your opponent into the 1 2 1 2 combo... That was Conor's game... Brilliant as hell
yes, and it worked well haha. dont unerstand your problem with that. khabib take his opponents down and maul them....brilliant as hell. wtf, conors game was much mor unpredictable as khabibs. but nobody gives a fuck about that, if you are world class in 1 element
If he would have stayed the unpredictable hungry Connor he would have reigned at the top and maybe even broken title defense records, totally hypothetically but the dude was unbeatable in his early fights. Even mixing in take downs with his top tier striking. Watching him fight is awesome man, he’s one of a kind. Fighters like him only come around once in a blue moon.
It's at least a good start to try to "relearn" his karate stance after training so long with boxing and taking the long layoffs. He had limited range, vision, and UNPREDICTABILITY, with the boxing stance. Karate stance unlocked his unpredictability. If he, for some reason, goes muay thai, he will get pieced up by volume punchers.
he might just be using a tkd stance because he’s at a tkd gym, however i would love to see him implement his old style of flashy kicks and crisp technical boxing
@@TheMaster5059 I mean sure the risk is lower down at featherweight with a height/reach advantage. More strikers in that division which is why prime Conor kicked so much. But against guys like Khabib, Charles , Gamrot is a no no.
Love him in this stance... it looks organic and natural for him.. Chandlers stance is low and wide, springy.. this will work well for Connor over the typical boxing stance. They're both explosive in R1.. should be interesting
This just confirms what I have always said, I can't count the amount of times I've argued his old stance was more like ITF Taekwondo than Karate. Although for a traditional stance I would argue his lead hand is to low here.
I'm likin that lead axe kick a lot. Lead kicks are always good, and hes learned from the Poirier fights to incorporate switching stances into his style. His movements are also looking really clean and fluid. If he gets back into his studying and understanding human movement mindset again which is how he always perfectly threw and timed all of his shots before then he may come back and get some solid wins.
For some reason his boxing looks like he is trying to take a picture of his shots by admiring his form instead of throwing the punch and bringing his hands back fast. He keeps it out there for a split second .
Y’all expect too much from the man smh. It’s been TEN years since he was that fluid style. you know how much change the body goes through in TEN years ??? It can’t retain that youthful flexibility and fluidity forever. Of course he’s going to harden and become more rigid

I wish we could get this Conor back. Back in his Tae stance or Karate stance. Fainting, setting up dead space and angles, almost like Iron Mikes peakaboo movements. The sunk in boxing style isn't it for him. He needs to get his kicks back into it, his range and distance prediction which ultimately sets up his lazor like precision with his hands.

TKD and Karate stance are almost the same anyways especially the ITF style of TKD
True karate is usually just slightly more square but it also depends on they style of karate.
You think throwing flashy kicks will help against a bjj artist/wrestler?

I think he needs to train with Sean Strickland on checking kicks. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Conor check a kick lmao.
Good to see that, 😍 he used to do this stance back while when he was training with gunner nelson 🔥
