I have two pre-loved *gtdupe* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.

What you forget is the canvas is lightweight AND durable! Some of these bags will not last the distance firstly too heavy from the leather even before you load them up with stuff, then they won't wear as well. Because leather which is stamped and has various painted colours added will wear off and how can you repair that?
Especially with those complex colour designs in this collection or even the LV stamp on colour (another eg. from women's collection the handles of the By the Pool collections with Moroccan tile effects. It's going to look shabby in no time especially white on the handles which are the most vulnerable to soiling and wear). Looks great. For now. This is the point with fast fashion.
The personalisation is both an appeal to vanity and makes it much harder for resales.
This is all designed to stimulate the senses, appeal to short attention spans and have you discarding instead of repairing (which can't be done on the complex colours especially) and buying buying buying.
This is the antithesis of luxury which was all about durability and longevity. The LV brand used to repair free of charge. What happened to those days?
It's all about gimmicks and an insatiable appetite for change. IMO
It's also about super elitism. This collection is an appeal to cashed up bogans.
I’m always surprised at how everyone says leather lasts forever etc but then are terrified to use it if there’s a chance of rain vs canvas which they will use in wet conditions.
From the packaging to the details of the bags, I think the *preluxz* shop has made reproduction an art form.
I absolutely loved his collection: it's a very elegant and hip take on classics and yet with a fresh perspective!

I am new to LV stuff (the canvas and epi leather has never interested me, so I mostly stuck with Loewe as I love their leather). However the leather of the P9s is AMAZING and totally changed my mind. It is so soft and lovely. While I haven't handled the leather of every luxury bag in the world, it is definitely a standout in quality. I really enjoy the designs for the men's collections under Pharrell more than the women's collections (the damier denim is my favorite denim bag design of any denim I have seen in luxury bags). While I agree that the cost is QUITE high, I like that they are coming out with designs in leather that are in canvas so people who like a design and look, but don't like canvas can possibly choose them.
Love the pink. My go to bag is my 25. Fits in my work locker. But I bought second hand because the girl had handles replaced with shoulder handles. So has been modified but I love her. Just finally invested in made to order insert. Pink and cream.

I don’t like anything he’s done so far as the head designer, and agree that this collection is LV becoming a caricature of itself. I have a Mon-monogram LV with my initials painted on it by LV. I think this iteration with “your name” printed on isn’t meant to indicate that you can have your name on there, it’s literally mocking the heritage LV of years ago. And this is way too expensive.

@@wiwi2555 I think she means they are mocking the My Heritage collection (with initials or name) which is now called Mon Monogram. I didn’t read it that she thinks they are mocking the heritage of the entire brand, which is a whole other topic, IMO.

Hey there, Jessie. This is not aimed at you. Hearing you read some of the criticism from others of Pharrell Williams’ latest campaign for Louis Vuitton, I am so upset by all the negativity that seems mostly personal instead of constructive in my opinion. While I think that everyone is allowed to dislike Pharrell’s designs because they’re not their personal style, I don’t think that it’s okay to be dismissive of his qualifications just because his first career is in music. He is a creative person; he is a songwriter first and he also sings. None of this disqualifies him in the fashion industry. He has always had his own personal style that has stood out over the course of his music career. I am a fine artist with a background in photography and jewelry-making. But I am also a short story writer (and a dang good one at that). My creativity doesn’t flow in one direction and apparently neither does Pharrell Williams’ creativity. We’ve had a brilliant astronaut up in International Space Station who is also a talented guitarist. We have had singers like Frank Sinatra and singer-songwriters like Nat King Cole, and Lady Gaga who were also talented award winning actors. If we looked into Pharrell’s childhood, I would bet he has always had a creative fashion sense. People are often nuanced and more than one-dimensional. Sorry for the rant, Jessie. I had to get this off my chest. Thanks for sharing.

Since I have speedy 25 and speedy 30 I would not be buying the new speedy 30 as it’s kinda too bulky and heavy when you are carrying it top handle. Also I found myself not emptying my bag as often carrying too much cause you simply can. I stopped using the speedy 30 years ago and I’m gonna sell it. I have given it a bag spa and it’s in excellent condition. I just have to stop procrastinating and sell it. I’m sure the next owner will totally love it 🥰

Hi Jess! I like both the 25 and the 30. I have to admit, I love the Speedy, and I'm all girly for those colors. Pink, purple, turquoise and the pink and green pastel. I also like the deep green. Not that I can buy them as of now, but I like them. 😊 I can see where a lot of people are over the whole Pharrel thing. I am as well. But the colors have captured me. ❤

I absolut love this collection and I think that Pharell has done the most interesting things coming from LV in years. I am saving up for a P9 speedy, the quality seems amazing and it is a new take on a classic bag. Also love his clothes, my husband is even considering buying them and he has never bought couture before. Love it!!
I love Pharrell, and loved the western designs! I also love the leather monogram, but currently you can’t justify the prices vs canvas as they look too similar! $800000 for that speedy and from a distance he looks like he bought a chain from Amazon and put it on a canvas piece🥴. I love photos of the p9s when there are multiple colors together. They are beautiful, but when I see the colors individually I don’t like them….not tempted at all. Great video!🩵
So far I got the passports from his collection because of the leather and colors are amazing! However the speedys are not moving me much. I would love to see some women’s rtw though.

LV is never going to get rid of Coated Canvas. Its what the house was built on. Pharrell coming in and tarting some vintage pieces up in Lambskin leather is hardly groundbreaking either. Lets not forget the horrible remixed multicolour bags going down the runway 🤢🤢 LV is not it anymore none of the fashion houses have got it. All they want to do is charge charge and charge you for Quality that is crapper then some fakes.
