I drive trucks for a living. It does happen every day. She sees many close calls. Most of the time the bad driver is usually able to stop just in time. This one didn't. She knows that there is no maneuvering that bus quickly and just went with it professionally.
Yes it happens every other day.. her composure was excellent but she possibly could have avoided that in my opinion. You must always anticipate and think the impossible before you approach any intersection and slow down a bit. You are the only wise one on the road when you drive a bigger vehicle.. permit my language but that saves you a lot of time discomforts like this. But overall, SHE DID VERY WELL WITH HER REACTION

I once spoke to a bus driver from Mexico and he told me that in Mexico to get a CDL esp a bus driver license they go through some psychological screening and have to take some psychology classes to learn to handle people and stressful situations. That's really good in my opinion.

Notice she put on emergency blinkers instantly, good number of American drivers don’t turn them on when disabled. Yes, it’s my pet peeve, it’s so easy to activate yet they don’t.
The american driver has become so lazy they can't be bother to use there turn signals (blinkers which should come on before braking) just slam brakes and turn! That is my pet peeve especially when they turning right and I'm stopped waiting on traffic and can turn if I knew they were ! Chaps my butt !!

It is all about what what I was taught a long time ago. Defensive driving! Watching others and communicating your own intentions will go a long ways in keeping you safe.

Very impressive reaction from her .. but I think she was lost a bit more in thought and didn’t anticipate ahead when she was approaching the junction. It happens all the time, sometimes we get carried away in thoughts when on the road. Most importantly, is no one on her bus got hurt and her professionalism was 1000%
