I would do a bigger canvas and let them walk across it.Put more colours in so when they are squished by feet the colours run together. You will have to tape a large piece of plastic to the canvas so they dont lift it up.Be creative in how you set it up and the cats will be creative.

Beautiful cats!! Nice using Churu instead of Temptations on the painting - it makes cats slow down to really see them! Maybe put the bag in a spot where the cats have to walk on it to reach the treat rather than have treat on the bag.
My boys have an 8 inch Alexa device . I say Alexa play You Tube entertaining cat videos. They like their Bamboozler Wand long string type. They can jump 5 ft when we play .

If it's water based paint, you might take a big house painting brush and get it good and wet then flick it onto the paint and canvass then put it into the bag - spray with a stay bottle in a corner or two of the canvas. That might make for some interesting effects.
