It’s crazy cause the story just gets more and more layered and good each season. Even season 4 or 5 I think which gets a bit of hate is pretty fire story wise

Yes. The writing is brilliant and actually as epic as any action anime! And don't worry. Every season gets better!!
Of course he had to go and dump on fire force....which is just not true. Food wars has so much more fan service than fore force. Its literally not even close. Season 2 was a huge improvement and they actually gave the fan service a meaning.
He didn't say there was more in fire force, just that it wasn't done tastefully which is a sentiment ALOT of fans have for that series. I love Fire Force and even I can admit it was just overly done. Another anime example is Fairy Tail. The creativity of Food Wars makes the fan service feel like it has depth and meaning while also making it funny. Fan service will get criticized no matter who does it though, so even though this is the most creative form of it, this show got just as much hate for it
That shit annoyed me too considering the fan service in FF is literally making fun of the trope, but having a character revolve around handling meat and constant jiggle physics is _so_ much more evolved.
