i'm not an adult dancer, but I started kind of late to be a professional (started jazz at 12 and ballet at 16). From the beggining, it wasn't my goal for even a second, I just felt that my soul needs dancing to proper function in the world. I feel so good dancing, like all my stress suddenly disapears and I can breathe for a second. The point isn't to make money, the point of dancing is to do something that makes sense in a way that is so deep that you can't describe, you can only feel it.
Really interesting hearing other people's motivation to dance ballet. For me, I love the beauty and elegance of ballet which pushes me to get as good as possible. Sure, ballet will never replace my day job, but I find satisfaction in attempting to become the best dancer that I can be.
PLEASE INTERVIEW MORE older people 40s, 50s, and 60s + who have re-started ballet! The questions I’m interested are: what was it like in their body to begin again? How did they acclimate to the movements of ballet at an older age? Did they have trouble with anything in particular? How did they overcome it? And what has dancing done for them now, emotionally and physically? (I’ve only seen you do this one time on one video:… as interesting as her life stories was, it’s hard to find time to listen to all of that. Hearing about their Ballet journey is more important!) Thank you, Julie!
What a lovely video ☺️ I’m also an adult dancer, I came back to ballet after a very long break from dancing during the pandemic (which was no coincidence). I found your channel looking for help to improve my technique, it’s very helpful, thanks and you got a new subscriber. Why do I dance? I dance because it makes me feel more alive than anything ☺️🩰💕💖✨
@@BrocheBallet I just love what you are doing so much Julie! I have been searching for something like this for a while now (there is nothing close to where I live in Australia) so came online and found you! I can't wait to start taking your classes xx
I use dance as my way to disconnect my brain. I’m a science major whose brain automatically runs 1000 miles per minute. Dancing, ballet specifically allows me to not go that fast mentally. I have to slow down to be able to control my body. There’s no space left to worry about anything else. I’m a horrible dancer to watch, but I love it.
The fact that we enjoy it is all that matters!! That's the most important part, that it feeds our soul. We can pass that joy onto others, even if it's not through showing them our dancing. It can be through sharing our passion, drive, and inspiration with the world. Happy dancing! :)
Since my injury I haven't been able to dance yet. I realize how much dance gives meaning to my life. When I dance all the stress goes away. I feel happy and alive.
@@helenedumonteil1770 Ouch! That is such a painful injury :( I hope you can continue healing and finding ways to move without aggravating it. Also I apologize, we have a couple of different team members helping out with our UA-cam channel, so I apologize I didn't put it together. Happy dancing! :) - Julie

Wonderful, welcome to the channel! Keep going, keep dancing, and savor those magical feelings that ballet brings us!!
It is an escape from reality when the piano starts playing. I never felt such a freedom expression aside from flying airplanes!
Oh I loved this video so much! I just found your site and joined! So excited!
Wonderful, Paula, I'm so glad that you enjoyed this video!! Ballet as an adult is awesome and can be an incredibly meaningful experience!
