Part of the "Recovered & Remastered" CD series. "Re-imagining 'Chill Out' 25 years further down that shit and shining path" Rework of The KLF classic ambient album "Chill Out"
I've been a fan since 1992. Your music changed my life. I'm surprised it took so long for me to find this wonderful rework of one of the best pieces of ear candy ever made.
This is amazing ....I found this in the middle of the night I couldn't find my head phones so I had to wait to crank it up this morning .....I love it ! I can't describe this feeling ...my favourite album of all time just got so much better ......I feel like I'm cheating on my old girlfriend saying that 😂😂
That loop that comes in at 49:58 is incredible. Like hearing a train going round in a circle with an orchestra onboard and a variety of things flying around it. Low-key in comparison to the anthem of what is before it, but true hypnotic genius.
I'm just going to echo the sentiments of gratitude to the uploader already expressed. I have never heard this before and well I love it.. Thank you so much.. And of course Bill, Jimmy and Alex.
So, was this like a demo version or take of what became "Chillout"? Brilliant, new to me, as much as I love the original, it's good to hear a different take on it, thanks for sharing ✌🏻
you might already know but there is a couple of other versions, DJ Yogurt & Koyas Chill Out, Portals The KLF's Chill Out (A New Dimension), ODC1 Chill Out Remixed. Been working my way through them, Nice to have the choice. I was thinking about putting them all together with the original as one four hour track.
@@lorraineferguson5493 That's the fun and wacky part of KLF. Don't like one of their songs? That's fine. They've probably remixed it about a dozen times or more Edit: Nevermind. I've now found out this isn't from some part of their back catalog but all these new mixes in the last several years are by different artists.
Listening to this while going through a parallel revisiting/discovery of David Lynch's back catalogue, the seeming references are jumpin' out left right and centre (rational brain tells me this is probably just recency bias and not having lived directly through their ubiquity in the early 1990s, but hey). Twin Peaks theme @23:18 on Build a Fire. Elvis @19:18, although it's not the exact song, is throwing me back to Wild at Heart and Nico Cage's cover of 'Love Me'. Roy Orbison's "In Dreams" @29:44 off Blue Velvet. References aside, such a great rework, kick out the jams mf...
I don't know how to explain this version but I'll try ( Ying & Yang ) or Polar opposites As in " THE KLF CHILL OUT ) NORMAL VERSION ,it's like a "Alternate World Version"of something very Original in the 1st place , not like Pink Floyd or Brian Eno not a mention here really , it's "something Different"& "Still remains" different & this version is beyond on "all things In Sound" bumps Blurry Beats Muffled sound bleeps Samples" ,not A" remix " it sounds off ,but it's not ,is it "the same " or "Stand Alone" "individually" "Unique" to the" Original , Re-boot ReMix Rethink Remake or is it 🤔 ? & Lastly ( WHERE DID THIS COME FROM ) THIS ALBUM WE DON'T REALLY KNOW DO WE ? In to the 90s & Beyond ( we r in the beyond ) 😲
The surreal haze called the late 80s and early 90s packaged in an easily digestible one hour long trip. There's even a little Benny Hinn in it, right after the NY street preacher who's name has eluded me so far. Does anyone know the good man's name ? Also: ua-cam.com/video/25exJfidX7w/v-deo.html
When I listen to the original, the fact that they locked themselves away for two days until they made a one take 44 minute version, adds a certain amount of magic that will never be recreated. Nice try though.
Yes... On the run from Dark side of the moon is used, This is what that part of the KLF song always reminded me of and probably what Jimmy Cauty was going for when he did the original mix... Very Pink Floydish concept from start to finish.
adding a drum track is kind of shit imho...then pink floyd ....i dunno....maybe it improves...I probably will listen to the original again - this reminds me of that Baker Street cover which added a snare drum...kind of pointless...sorry
Open message from THE KLF: please stop ripping our music off and claiming it as your own. Yes especially THE FLK and your fake Time Lord car and blatant use of our imagery. We get you guys might have musical talent. Please create NEW music instead. Over and out. Bill. Jimi. Gimpo.
Open message to D. Oliver: please stop writing messages in our name. We are fully capable of doing this ourselves, truth is we don't give a shit who uses our imagery, in fact we find it kinda flattering that we still influence so many people 30 years down the line. Please carry on doing this. Over and out. Bill. Jimmy. (PS Gimpo had fuck all to do with the creative process).
I can't pm you with more details about who I am/know. But trust me: Bill and Jimi hate people f*** with their music and image. The FLK Got served for it.
Please come back KLF we need you !!!
They are back
With new material?
@@davebrown5957 ???? What do you mean?
They never went anywhere 😂

Fell asleep listening to this, woke up a new man. Masterpiece of an album. Takes you to a place life can't ❤
So awesome, I happened to fall asleep to it every day for the past week, also waking up as a new man!

Musical genius!

I'd also recommend Goodbye Desolate Railyard by Silver Mt Zion.
Exactly!🫶

Just sublime.
Omg I love the overtone in this one ❤ It brings me right back to Mongolia🐴
A few references to Pink Floyd On the run but all throughout the original recording is a Floyd sample taken from Echoes off the album Meddle.
31:00 - cue full on flashback... goose bumps... blissfully, eternally yours.
I know the feeling
First one love
Sounds of heaven mate ♥️♥️

Love what they did with Magruda Eterna ...
Anybody know the sample coming in around 32:08? I swear it's Zeppelin but can't find the song to match it.

How's about a burial mix ???
I'm always massively suspicious of anything that claims to be The KLF.
This might just be the real deal...
ΚΛΦ THE FOREST PIONEER
What it's all about I would think
Pink Floyd plus that it's too good to be True
Love this so much, Any chance of a download link?
KLF!
bring back real music like this for gods sake not the cack sacks about now
It is out there, just gotta keep away from the mainstream

Yes. You are right.
Agree. This version is a little too noisy!
Yeah. Interesting though.
