- 1984.. एक ऐसा साल जिसे ना कभी इंडियन पॉलिटिक्स भूली.. ना भूला इंडिया, ना कभी पंजाब. इस साल दिल्ली, कानपुर, फिरोज़ाबाद, अमृतसर में सिखों का जो खून बहा उसकी कहानी इन 40 सालों में कई बार कही गई.. मगर फिर भी जिनकी कहानी रह गई वो हैं सिख महिलाएं. कितनी ही ऐसी औरतें थीं जिन्होंने अपनों को हत्यारों के हाथों मरते देखा. खुद पर बलात्कार सहे. जान बचने के बाद ताने सुने... मगर फिर भी वो इंसाफ के लिए लड़ती रहीं.. इन कहानियों को पहली बार सामने लाए हैं एडवोकेट सनम सुतीरथ वज़ीर,उनकी किताब है The Kaurs of 1984. इस किताब को लिखने के लिए सनम दंगापीड़ितों के घर गए. उनसे मिले. उनकी कहानियां कई सालों तक सुनी जिसे सनम से पढ़ाकू नितिन में पूछेंगे...

मेरे प्यारे भाई, मुझे भी 1984 के सिख विरोधी दंगों को लेकर बहुत दुःख है और इस बात का लेकर बहुत रोष भी है कि दोषियों को उनके अपराध के लिए दण्डित नहीं किया गया लेकिन मुझे इस बात का भी बहुत दुःख है कि अधिकतर सिखों ने इन दंगों को न केवल भुला दिया बल्कि जिन लोगों ने दंगों को अंजाम दिया और दंगा करने की छूट दी, दोषियों को बचाया आज वो लोग सिखों की आँखों के तारे बने हुए हैं।

स्वर्ण मंदिर में हुई कार्यवाही के लिए जितनी इंदिरागांधी जिम्मेदार थी उससे ज्यादा वो लोग जिम्मेदार थे जो इस पवित्र स्थान को ढाल के रूप में इस्तेमाल कर रहे थे ,भिंडरावाला और उसके साथियों की माँगे चाहे जायज थीं या नाजायज, उनको अगर सशस्त्र संघर्ष करना ही था तो धर्म स्थलों को ढाल की तरह इस्तेमाल नहीं करना चाहिए था, आप ही बताएँ कि यदि मैं हथियारबंद होकर किसी मन्दिर में अपना ठिकाना बना लूँगा और सरकार को चुनौती दूँगा तो क्या सरकार हाथ पर हाथ रखकर बैठी रहेगी।

ज़ब 84 के दंगे हुये थे तब मैं 10 साल का था मैं अपने पापा के साथ उनकी फैक्ट्री गया था जो क़ी बैग बनाने क़ी थी वो नबी करीम में स्तिथ थी अभी कारीगर आए थे क़ी ख़बर आयी इंद्रा गाँधी नहीं रही तभी पापा ने कहा फैक्टरी बंद करो ये एक लडके को कहा और मैरा हाथ पकड़ कर जल्दी चलने लगे नबी करीम से पहाड़ गंज थाने का रास्ता पैदल 10 मिनट का था वहाँ से हमें बस मिलती थी हम पश्चिम पूरी रहते थे रास्ते में लोग तेजी से इधर उधर हो रहें थे सड़क पर पहुंचते ही हमें बस मिल गई जिसका no. 952 था, पश्चिम पूरी से अजमेरी गेट तक जाती थी, बस पर चढ़ते ही पापा ने टिकट ली तो मुझें कुछ अजीब लगा उनकी बोली बदली हुई थी वो पंजाबी नहीं बोल रहें थे इक अद्धि ते इक पूरी क़ी जगह आधी और पूरी टिकट बोला बस आदी से ज़्यदा खाली थी जो बस में थे उन सबके चेहरों पर बेचैनी दिख रही थी बस बाड़ा हिंदूराव पहुंची तो देखा वहां आगजनी और लूट पाट चल रही थी और मुझें याद हैँ वो लोग कौन थे ज़ब हमारी बस पर एक सरदार जी चढ़ने लगे तो उन्हें ना चढ़ने देने वाला कौन था ये भी मैंने देखा था ज़ब पश्चिम पूरी चौक पर बस रूकी तो देखा बहुत से लोग हाथों में समान लेकर भाग रहें हैँ और टहके लगा रहे हैँ वो कौन थे और कहा से आए थे कहा जा रहें थे ये भी मैंने देखा था तब तो मैं उन्हें नहीं जानता था पर तब से जानने लग गया था
तब से जानने लग गया?? घटना दुःखद जो हुआ बोहोत बुरा पर एक पछ ये भी हैं.. पंजाब में बस में पहचान करके लोग उतारे गए और गोलियों से भून दिया गया ये भी जानो भाई.. ये भी जानना जरूरी उसमें भी मारने वाले कोई थे मरने वाले कोई ..

I can't even imagine the pains people went in 84. But I disagree on his views on Bhindrawale, I doubt if he was a 'sant' as many would allege. He was no fool and tried being oversmart.
