Mike - I owned horses back in the 60's through the 70's and used this to stop horses from bucking and getting out of hand with rearing. It does an excellent job of getting the horse to do what you want without hurting the horse. Thank you for your excellent video's, they are far better than some that I've seen with other people. Your calm approach to handling the horses goes a long way in training and you don't have a heavy hand on the too. This says lots to me. If I wanted to find a trainer, I would certainly come to you for help. I enjoyed watching your video's, keep up the good work and although I can no longer get on a horse, I do still enjoy watching people work their horses in a proper manner. I've experienced a horseman who beat a horse with a whip till the mare gave up and laid down. She was my mare in fact. His wife and I put a stop to it when we saw him doing this. He was amazed that I could work her without a long line because she obeyed my verbal commands. That was back in the early 70's. Don't know if he's still around or not, but he and a lot of other horsemen can certainly take lesson's from you. Thank you for treating the horses humanely. Best Regards, Sharon Hughes

Mike, do you do any exercises to keep your back in shape so that you can handle 30 minutes on a bucking horse? I have a lesson horse I ride that likes to ocassionally kick out (not quite a buck but pretty close) when I transition to the canter. The horses is winning out on this behavior because the muscles in my mid-back tighten up (I'm in my late 40's but am in good physical shape with no back problems) and I have get off before finishing my lesson. Until I get the stamina to keep the muscles in my back from freezing up, I'll never get past this problem on this horse.
+Mark Langowski There are a lot of back exercises you can do to help get your back stronger, When horses start bucking, rearing, etc. I stay relaxed and go with the horse until I can do the one rein stop or move the hips to get the control back, talk to a gym I am sure they know exercises for you :)

Even the thought of a buck you flex him to the left or right and move that hip over like I did in the video then you go back to what ever you were doing before that

what do you mean by softening their nose and moving their hip ????
Where you are able to flex your horse on a soft rein and disengage the hips
My horse just swings his legs up when I gallop but I think that he is threatening to buck what should I do
+Kaci lee Do the exercises I do in these video's, do them in an arena until you can canter him off and he does not try to kick out
+Mike Hughes what if I don't have an arena ( I really don't have an arena) :( I only have 1 horse
Even the thought of a buck you flex him to the left or right and move that hip over like I did in the video then you go back to what ever you were doing before that
