People make some really stupid comments before learning and understanding how live sound works. Joe is not in control of Henrik's volume through the PA system, nor the camera's placement in relation to the onstage amplifiers. I've seen a video where Bonamassa is the guest with a "small amp" with Eric Johnson and still people made stupid comments about Joe being "louder" and "insecure". Most of these videos are recorded on phones or handheld cams people, the mix is far from professional!! Joe Bonamassa is one of the finest blues/rock guitarists and performers around, maybe of all time, deal with it. You are allowed to not like his music, so move on and watch someone else and stop filling up the comment sections with uninformed, uneducated assessments of Joe's character based on amateur UA-cam videos! Or just enjoy the fact that we can still enjoy a plethora of fine musicians keeping this most wonderful music genre alive. Peace
+ kj677 Thanks for the informed info. I'm a RN specializing in critical care, trauma and transplants. I know NOTHING about what you explained above. But to play devil's advocate, let me say that most people who make stupid comments are as uninformed as I am about the backstage workings of music. I would no more expect you to know how to operate an artificial heart or how to adjust an IABP than I'm able to make an intelligent comment about music. On the other hand, you are helping educate those of us who are musically challenged. Thanks for your input!!
Thank you for a thoughtful and intelligent comment. It's not cool when I have to explain my opinion but there are a few "professional and experienced" musicians who believe that my opinion shouldn't count because I just know what I like, but not why most of the time. Lol. I have little to no musical knowledge but that doesn't make my opinion invalid.
Henrik Freischlader is from my hometown Wuppertal,Germany,I remember how he started playing with schoolbands years ago.Talented & down to earth guy,who deserves all his success.Great to see him play with Joe B.
Oha ...zwei Ultra begnadete Blues Gitarristen ..
If i could get to London. Have huge hugs of hi to my friend Joe and musical family know i could be safely transported back to my sons who are looking after eachother....~Is thee only way i could venture miles away from my family. Life is not their fault and to dump mine on them is not right.
While I believe that all of you are entitled to your opinion as to which musicians' music you prefer, I also believe that it's in very poor taste as well as lacking in intelligence to attempt to judge his personality traits and determine that he is "insecure"??? HELLOOOOOO!!! The dude's a PRODIGY!! Look it up. He definitely does some amazing things with his guitars. I LOVE HIS MUSIC and he has written many, many of the songs. The guy is a genius and he gives a lot to charity such as the homeless and children' scholarships. Ya'll sound like sour grapes to me. You can judge him when you've achieved what he has. Till then, walk away and shut up.
Absolute bullshit... Jo is a professional and knows exactly what he's doing... Of course he has an influence on the volume and presence of the guests... He's a professional...! I wouldn't have performed there if I were Henrik... That doesn't mean that Jo is bad, no he certainly isn't and I'm a fan of his music... But I'm not a fan of his arrogance...! Everyone starts small, yes, everyone... But that doesn't mean that Henrik has to be shown... My opinion...!
Joe Bonamassa strikes me as a real insecure guy on one hell of an ego trip, just watched him with the great setzer , now this , and others where every time he gets these greats up to play they are so low in volume in comparison to him you cant hear them at all, it just shows a total lack of respect , its like he has to get them all up on stage just to prove himself to be better, sure he can play but to me , and by his own words when asked how would he describe himself as a player he is cited as saying put hendrix, clapton , beck, page , green , gary moore all together and you get me, what utter bollocks, what these great players all have is individuality, something he does not, he is just an overconfident copy player who has not brought anything new to the table, i dont think in fifty years time he will still be being talked about, plus how many amps does he need ? come on joe, you can behave better than this,
I agree with some of the things you have said, for example his lack of etiquette with his guests on stage. But he never said he was like all of those guys put together, he said he tries to emulate little parts of each of their playing. He wasn't saying that he was the creation of all those great players combined.
God these are so annoying, the guests on all of Bonamassa's vids are so quiet. This has to be intentional. There's a vid of Greg Kock (one of my all time favorite players) and JB just gives him a tiny amp and he has no chance. What a poser JB is -- which too bad because obviously he's a find guitar player.

Kein Zufall!l
Joe is the Star
Joe is not from These World
Henrik plays with Feeling and Heart...much more better than Joe :-)

Henrik definitely has better structured songs then Bonamassa
Blabla

Well I disagree 100% with this comment

Alles grausam abgemisch ....wird über die Dauer des Liedes immer mieser ...Schade !
I've seen them both live and to my ear Henrik is a far superior blues guitarist.
I didn't enjoy bonamassa, to much style over substance.
I don't care what you call but it sure is not Blues
