@@renegadepyro726 I think it's human blood of someone close to him. I slowed down the video and noticed there was no noodles and the soup itself was dark. Him crying could have been pressure or it could have been sadness combined with fear.
The taste of human should have caused him to gag. Which leaves me to believe that the kidnappers took their time getting him mentally prepared for the video. Most likely mental torture because he had no visible wounds on his upper body, although it could have been focused on his lower body it's purely guessing at this point because his body isn't found and without any leads this is a cold case. I would start by looking for the masks though, check to see where the masks are being selled and look at the past buyers.
Looking at the mans facial features he's mostly Asian, his crying "at least to me" sounds like he was born in one of the Asian countries, the masks were probably bought there too because of the uniqueness of them. The masks look like a cartoon of China or Korea start their then go to other Asian countries.
The person is most likely dead and solving the case would be hard if it was in a communist country, the reason of the video is to ether send a message to a country or to show off, the language the original video is will be what the target the video is pointing at.
Point is the case is cold will stay cold because the clues are almost impossible to get without political problems.

Elisa Lam's death is considered explained. She had manic depressive disorder and didn't take her medication, so her odd behavior was the result of that. Also the video was editted so it looks weirder than it truly is. There's a lot of videos that dive deep into that case. It's an interesting one, but is ultimately just a normal albeit unsatisfying explanation.
