It's pretty impossible to prepare for a pandemic which hasn't yet developed. What form will it take? How deadly will it be? We do know that bird flu is spreading to mammals and humans are mammals. Two people have caught bird flu from cows, So we see it spreading from mammals to other mammals. Does that mean it will become a pandemic. Not necessarily but perhaps! But the time to sound the alarm is when we know it's becoming a pandemic not before!
Joe biden said there will be another pandemic and he should know because he works for the system that created covid 19.
Bird flu is mostly deadly to birds, it doesn't affect mammals too seriously. Exceptions to infants, elderly and immuno compromised patients.
But, We can't say for sure that this variant hasn't been genetically altered, making it affect mammals in a worse way. This is highly probable, imho. This can be devastating to avian populations, especially since it's migration season.
