Just 2 things: lots of practice and a knowledge of memory techniques (mainly method of loci). I promise it's that simple!

I agree it really works. I'm a complete beginner in MBLD and remember struggling to get 2/2 but after using the method of loci, I did 3/3 and 4/4 in my first try. Edit: my pb is now 16/16 as of June 2020

Man. The amount of techniques needed to memorize in order to find the perfect one. Which I assume is how he did it blind folded, 6 each, which gives him a layout on which will be which, while also remembering the colors, so he can focus on the ones with the same technique, and still know what group and place they were in. Techniques is what this is, though it took awhile, still extremely brilliant.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this. I mean i can't do it but is it something that i even want to do...very thought provoking video.

    Hi Mark,
I'm not sure if you are going to read this or not. If you do, I just wanted to say you are amazing and have an unbelievable gift buddy. Very good job. I do not care if you are memorizing, mapping, whatever. All still lead to the fact you are very special. I pray you can read and understand that many of us in the world appreciate people gifted as you. It enables us all to have a glimpse of what we are possibly capable of. So much bad and evil in the world we all get caught up in and it really dumbs us down. You have touched my heart, as well Im sure many. You have motivated me to take action in ways to appreciate and recognize those with abilities such as yours. If you ever need or would like anything, please let me know. May all you dreams and wishes come true buddy.
    God Bless You...
