The IKEA dress looks fabulous, your enthusiasm when working with these vibrant fabrics shines through , I like you love playing around with colours when I design my woven beading patterns so really enjoy your podcast 😍
OMG-- your dress is FANTASTIC!!! And I agree, your pattern placement is spot on!-- perfection!!!😍
Totally agree. You could not have placed the pieces better.
You are truly an inspiration, even though making garments has never been successful for me.The first dress you wore, I love it all, design of the dress, fabric choice everything, chefs kiss.
You’re inspiring me to learn how to sew more than just a pillowcase. I wear dresses all the time and I’d love to learn how to sew my own in natural fibers.
YAY!! Love your dress!! Jen, we don’t judge you we think you are wonderful. Try the dress as a sleeveless- I think the style looked really nice! You are so worthy of praise!!
Thank you for this totally inspiring video, Jen! From the grey cashmere seed stitch re-doing, cozy Tinde sweater knitting in Bowie's air conditioned rehearsals (such a wonderful memory of where you knit it), to your fabulous sewing projects! I LOVE your Merrimekko dresses and top and how they inspired you to create your own fabulous dresses and bags from the massive print IKEA fabrics! Isn't feline assistance with sewing a fun adventure!
Sleeveless dresses and tops are great to wear with t-shirts, turtle necks, cropped sweaters or cardigans. This way, you get more than one season out of them. The Marimekko and Ikea fabric dresses are stunning!
So much fun!! Love your new dress!!! The bags will be awesome too! Re the black and white striped fabric, if you decide to make a garment out of it, you might want to arrange the stripes in a direction that does not give off “prison” vibes. Lol!
Love the dress on you. The totes should turn out amazing as well. Love seeing your creativity- so inspiring.
the tote bags will be amazing as well, you go girl!!!!!!
not a fan of the envelope dress BUT i love the flower dress it looks amazing on you you did an awesome job , very creative !!!!!!
The dress looks AMAZING on you!! I am definitely interested in making a tote bag with the Ikea fabrics!!
Great episode, Jen! I am marimekko obsessed, too. I love the dress and fabric. Thanks for sharing!
I love your dress! Fits you so well. You are really great at creating beautiful clothes. Have a good day! Elise
LOVE the printed dress! You are so beautiful and talented; you look amazing in your printed dress. Cannot wait to see what you make in the red/pink fabric. I also want to see your tote bags. Take care❤
I love the dress! It would be helpful if, when you show us your beautiful sewn or knit creations, if you could pull your hair back so we can see the full collar and front. I really enjoy your energy!
Definitely trace the dress it will be perfect I have done that with favorite tshirts plus you can place it where you want to get your favorite part of fabric
The dress looks so cool on you! Great job 👏🏻. I don’t mind at all the sewing projects. It’s true that sewing can be faster than knitting. I like to do both and I like the portability of knitting. I am a process crafter so I need something portable all the time 😂can’t wait to hear about your knitting projects in the future. Have a good week!
I’m definitely interested in your sewing exploits! No judgement ever when acquiring crafting supplies! And, btw, you ARE cool! Thanks for the inspiration.
Love the dress. Suits you so much. Well done❤
LOVE your Marimekko and IKEA fabric dresses. I also signed up for sewing classes in high school and they were always canceled. Maybe someday I’ll learn to use a sewing machine and add my sewing to my wardrobe too. You rock, Jen!
I love your ideas for the dress! Use the polka dot fabric as liner for your tote bag!!
Dinah's in the tipi!!😍
No judging here! I love your enthusiasm for this craft. I knit and sew and love both. I too have just acquired a serger and related to your fears over it but isn’t it great!
I love your orange and navy dress. The print is very cool. Looks great on you.
I love your dress! Amazing job! You've got me thinking maybe I should be adding this to my crafting toolbox . . . plus I love your new sewing machine! So chic!
You are soooo much fun
There is a dress in the Sonia Phillip book! It’s an empire waist mashup of the top and the skirt. I've made it three times. I love what you've done with extending the top though. I might try that too.
You look adorable! Love the dress.
Hi Jen, your dress is so cool! I love Sonya Phillips style and her patterns are great. I have had such good results with them. Another good source for cool fabric is the upholstery (I guess it's that category) fabric at Joanne Fabrics. I have made 2 Pants No.1 with them. They are a heavier 100% cotton and have worn really well. Really fun designs. I'm excited for sewing 😀
I love your new ikea dress! The print is so much FUN! I too love Sonya Philip patterns and you are so right about the satisfaction of finishing a sewing project at light speed as compared to knitting a garment. It make me happy to see your weekly posts 😊
so fun! love your new dress and I enjoy watching your process. I'm also guilty of obsessively checking the ikea fabric listings to see what's available for shipping.
❤it is definitely cool not ugly❤
Your dress is gorgeous and really suits you - have you thought of making a cover for the new sewing machine out of some of the leftovers? Xxx
Hey Jen, LOVE that new dress on you - and that fabric is a superfun collections of colours. What's the length of the needles in the arm of your cream/red sweater? Yes - completely agree - you should do that pattern again and again, both in patterns and plains - ooooh, how about the giant black gingham, maybe in linen? Must confess that I'm VERY into that pink and red, wearing a stripe knit sweater yesterday with black jeans and converse, so am looking forward to see what you make of that. Oh - grand idea on the sleeves of your seed stitch sweater. You should TOTALLY have a go at tracing the pattern on the a-line dress, and have you thought about doing a periwinkle cardigan to wear with your dress, with some black opaque tights and some Doc's?
Love the new dress🎉
Dinah omg what a co-host
