You like the music, of course. May I recommend "Dread Zeppelin". It's the same instruments & rittums. Don't watch the videos though, it'll spoil your respect for their musical genius. Plus the recording I have on CD is crystal clear & very well produced. Acid Jazz, Funk & Brass 🔈🔉🔊
@@TimbreDynamics Well? What do you think of an Elvis impersonator in a Led Zeppelin Tribute band performing in a Reggae beat? lol....... they're awesome.
Question- Aren't the servo subs a bit close to the walls... being open baffle and all? My open baffle H frame 18" subs are 75" out from the wall (yes, I see your room really isn't big enough for that... but 3' min is kinda the norm), of course my room is vastly different, much larger, but contrary to what people say... a large room does not mean no modal issues, and all 3 axis of my room are on the same maths, so modal issues in the big room are actually quite bad, so the 75" thing, near as I can calculate, avoids back wave interference until about 22or 26 hz. It might be possible to tweak the position of the subs to fix the 50hz mode you have (not sure, but worth a think, and a try). Cheers.
@TimbreDynamics have you used software like REW to read the acoustics of your room? Right now I'm caught up in measurements and using Dirac to even out the peaks and nulls but at times I think that my system sounds better without Dirac engaged. I have played with positioning of the speakers and I'm even using 4 subs ( one on each corner),in a rectangular room. Feels like I'm chasing my tail.
@@JC.LC. yes I use Rew. Yeah, I hear that a lot from people. Dirac can suck the life out of your presentation. Room treatment is the key. Dispersion vs absorption in smaller rooms. I too have a 50hz dip in my room. It is almost impossible to get completely gone, but I have it dialed in good enough. It’s taken me 3 years to get to this point. A lot of trial and error. Mostly trying things then listening with my ears. You might want to reach out to GIK Acoustics and see if they can consult with you on some room treatment. Trust your ears!
@TimbreDynamics Thanks for the tips. I do have some room treatments (although I'm not sure if it is enough). I have a big peak at 40hz. This weekend I was experimenting with using Dirac only up to 300hz instead of doing the full frequency range, sounded better to me but then when I measure the room I see some issues in those frequencies I didn't correct. It's very confusing because we all know that a more even and linear response is better than one that has peaks and nulls but yet the one with the peaks and nulls sounds "better" than the corrected version. Anyways. You have a pretty awesome set up, I used to run tubes in my rig, but I have since moved to a solid state. I still have a Dynaco ST70 by Bob Latino that I built. Love that amp. One tip: If your tube amp has a tube rectifier, I recommend you try a solid state one. They are available, and they are a plug-in and out type just like tube. I have a video in my channel if you are interested in seeing my rig.
@@JC.LC. You'll never solve any acoustic issues with Dirac, you can only band aid it, Sub locations are never so easy as 1 in each corner, you are going to have to learn about room modes and then learn about where the modes in your room are and then work from there. It is impossible to solve room modes easily, and impossible to solve them with Dirac live. Acoustics for the beginner is a long (multi year) learning curve. First understand and master absorption, then do either the room modes or diffusion, but you are going to have to learn the physics if you really want to get after it. For reference, it took me a couple of years to get things pretty good and then the last 5 years I have changed and or refined things as my ears demand, along with developing my own open baffle speakers, so it isn't a weekend project... cheers.
The recording through the I phone definitely drops some of the highs. It tends to autocorrect volume. I have my tweeters down 6db at the moment. It measures flat in the room all the way to 20k. Listen to the music once I pan out to the wide aspect ratio. Much closer to the original there. I’ve also got the bass boosted in the room right now because I’m trying to break in those woofers.
Beautiful setup!
Thank you!
Nice work.
Votre pièce est superbe ! Quand aux équipements je ne vie que pour Focal +NAIM+Macintosh !!! Mais votre SON est pas mal du tout !!👍🇫🇷
Un grand merci !
Sounds superb! Can you please share artist/ song?

@@TriAmpMyFi - Very interesting for sure. Thanks for the recommendation.
A Galion 120 amp, nice!
This is a dodge 10 Mkii. The amp the Gallion was based on.
What are the speakers? Thanks.
@@lewispotter7369 The main speakers are my own creation, the Athena’s. I built the servo subs based on GR Research Triple Threats.
Sounds great .... for a youtube video.
Great set up.
What are the circular disks on the diffraction panels?
I call them vocal points. Something I’ve been working on four 6 months. Really pulls in the imaging to a focal point.
@@TimbreDynamicswhere can they be found or where can more information be found?
@@cameronrector178nothing yet. Video soon.

Agreed. This is the initial position. I will move them around eventually. I have to rearrange the furniture to find the optimal spot.
Sounds very good. Are you using any kind of DSP or room correction software?
No. Straight signal.

I've got quite mixed feelings about the sound... Nice bass, midrange and lacking top end - at least vs. the original file...

Yep, I currently have it turned up to break in the woofers.
