    It's sister is the one on Church Avenue, Rathmines D6, and had a similar story attached except, it wasn't believable as it was in continuous use throughout it's existence, even more so today. I grew up close to it and one day in the 60's when we kids were out playing on the road - yes, you could do that then, one of us decided that 3 times round the church would make us see the devil. We went round, and, on the third trip he shouted he'd seen the devil - in the plots behind the church, which, back then was used for growing veg' etc., now built over by housing. We all laughed at his tall story, much to his chagrin. Such stories abounded in a country awash with story telling, a strictly Gaelic trait.
