    I know it’s been three years since you made these videos and obviously they are still fantastic! Thank you very much for making it look simple. Definitely not a task for the fool at heart, the smallest error could be catastrophic and expensive.

    I know you did this video a few years ago but that’s the good thing about UA-cam. I saw it two years ago, kept it. Watched it several times and now I’m getting the chance to change the belts.

    BTW I had asked you 2 years ago about replacing the heat exchanger on the 360. I decided to do it myself. It’s pretty straightforward even though it’s a pain in the a.. to get it back in and tedious having to change gear box oil and coolant umteen times. It did gave me the chance to replace all parts being removed for new ones including the timing belts. Once again thank you.

      Thank you for the kind words. I really try my best to add detail. Its easy to forget & I worry I am not thorough enough when educating on video.

    Just saw your closing message and I have a question for you. Would you do a video on replacing the heat exchanger for the F1 system? Mine failed about two years ago. Nobody wanted to touch it because it is so labor-intensive and very expensive. So knowing a little bit about mechanics, my wife and I did it together. That’s what prompted me to go ahead and do the full Monty on the maintenance of the car. The most tedious part was flushing the gearbox seven times and the cooling system about eight times. One thing that helped I purchased a small endoscopy type tool to check the inside of the gearbox. No residue whatsoever as well as the cooling system. Once again, thank you for your outstanding videos!

    Thank you thank you very much for your informative videos. Have you removed the Oil water separator for a 2003 360 with an F1 gearbox?

      Hello, yes I have done a handful of them. Maybe I can do a video on the next one that comes my way.

    I think your videos are awesome. I have a Ferrari 360 spider 2002 after running for 15 to 20 minutes it seems to always overheat I’m thinking that the thermostat what do you think would cause this do you have any videos on thermostats installing. Thanks for what you do you’re a big help

    When cylinder 1 is at the top of the compression stroke both of the marks on the intake and exhaust cam should line up with the marks on the cam cover or be directly across from each other? I’m asking because the vice grip slipped while replacing the belts and I’m trying to get them back to where they should be. I can rotate the engine freely by hand any help is appreciated thank you

    I also have a Ferrari 360 spider 2002. My fob to lock the doors or unlock the doors the day I was running and started just fine now the engine turns over but won’t start I think it might be something with the alarm system do you have any advice or do you know me a thing that might be able to do to troubleshoot it thank you

    interseting...what was mileage on this car at time of service? What are the highest mileages you've seen on these cars? thx

    Do you ever change out the cam seals behind the cam gears.

    • @elitemechanics9382
      @elitemechanics9382  3 роки тому

      I do change them, conditions are a deciding factor.
      So milage, high milage 360s (60k or over) I will automatically change them along with valve cover gaskets during the major service.
      The other one is leaks. If the cam seal or valve cover gasket is leaking on a lower milage 360 & I am doing a major service I will replace them both at the same time.

    • @ferrarifxs
      @ferrarifxs 3 роки тому

      @@elitemechanics9382 when you change them do you just mark them? I did my belts a few years back and I left that alone. But now I believe they are leaking a little oil.

    • @ferrarifxs
      @ferrarifxs 3 роки тому +1

      I was planning on doing my belts again this coming winter and was going to remove them to fix the leaking seals. I know some people lock the cams but you then have to remove the value covers.

      @@ferrarifxs So If your mechanical abilities are 8/10 you can totally do this no sweat, if you feel like your less than 8/10. I would strongly recommend seeking professional help. The consequences for a mistake while doing cam seals can be devastating.
      You will need a degree wheel & a scribe or sharp pick. I use the Hill Engineering TDC tool. Be sure to mark and crack the cam gear bolts with the belts still on. Follow the work shop manual & you will be fine. I put the seals in dry and am very carful when installing them so I do not damage the seal. I find dry installation for this application gives best seal.
      Best of luck to you brother, I am sure you will knock it out no problem. It is always satisfying when your done & you look it over say "yeah I did that"
