Ant-Man vs. Iron Man is one your most impressive shorts yet. Especially the opening shot with all the characters fighting. 0:33 was my favorite part though. I wasn't expecting that at all.
Absolutely love your bts videos. Gives me a lot of good ideas and things to try. Never really wanted to spend the money on after effects but it looks like the way to for removing wires and string.
I can sympathize. I hate spending money, even when I know it will be worth it. But I assure you, if you plan on doing videos like this, AE is SO worth it.
thanks for the advice. A buddy of mine has been trying to get me to use Adobe's stuff for a long time and seeing your work with it just convinces me even more its the way to go.
Good job with the practical effects! I prefer watching your videos with more practical effects than the ones with a lot of special effects and greenscreens. Keep up the awesome work!!!
Those tips about using the base background image to cover wires and clay was really useful. I've used a base image when masking something so it can be put back on the same background so I could avoid wire being seen but I'd never have thought of using the background itself!
Your stop motion talent is our of this world, I have been inactive on your channel and when I was gonna check on you I said. " He is gonna have like 1 mil subs. " but no, it is so weird. You aren't getting the credit you deserve.
theLEGObros. Stopmotion I don’t post my animations... I only have a channel to comment. All of my stuff is on my Instagram. @bricksbyhan. But yes. I will sub.
I just wanted to say great work on the writing of the first part of the Star Wars Go Rogue mini series. Hilarious and an original take on the Star Wars universe.
Even as a BTS vid, aspiring animators can learn a lot from watching these. Hell, I'm still learning tricks on After Effects just by experimenting lol. Kudos mate
That's amazing man i love how u just put so much effort into your work that really inspires me bro your are on my best brickfilmers bro and you just inspire me and a lot of other people to keep at it can't wait for more of your videos man
I think it's awesome how you make BTS videos for most of your animations because they help the smaller animators like me see how we can better ourselves by seeing the techniques! Great job Though Kevin it was a great video!
Hello Brotherhood Workshop. I have a very cool technique when making the scene where every one was fighting. Make a scene where iron man and captain America are fighting. The camera does not move. Now animate two other characters like Winter Soldier and Black Panther in front of a green screen and edit them into a position. If you do it correctly, you wouldn't to animate every single minifigure for one frame then another
Amazing! Love your creativity when it comes to editing and green screen! I have just recently found out how to do green screen and masking, and it's so fun! The problem is is that when I do masking, the 2nd layer has a different shade of light, since I'm having problems with light flickr. I wish to be good like you some day! Keep up the great work!
Great BTS video! I loved the use of forced perspective for the size changing, it's great to see animation that takes advantage of all of the interesting things possible with stop motion. And it ended up looking super smooth and seamless in the end too! I also thought the printed backdrop ended up looking great, did you find that somewhere or did you print it out yourself? I'd like to do something like that for my next animation so I don't have to worry about using reflective/transparent surfaces or a shallow depth of field for keying.
Kevin, I am an aspiring animator and really enjoy the behind the scenes videos. They're what actually taught me how to do stop motion, so thank you very much for making this video as awesome as it was! I have a few questions to ask of you. If you'd be willing to answer these, that would be unbelievable! 1: What version of after effects do you use? I have 6. 5 and it doesn't even have chroma key.😕 2: How do you come up with your ideas for your videos? I always seem to be in a real pickle when it comes to getting ideas, which is why I've never made a video that is ever longer than 1 minute. That's all. Thank you so much if you actually read this comment. Many UA-camrs don't respond which drives me away from asking any questions.
1. I use CC 2015. I'm surprised your version doesn't have chroma key as that is a basic tool. Have you tried looking for "color key" or "keylight"? 2. I come up with my ideas by watching movies and imagining how things might have played out differently. This video was inspired by the line "anyone else have any shocking abilities they want to reveal right now" from Iron Man. My first thought was "yeah, you do! Bring in Veronica!"
+BrotherhoodWorkshop awesome you have been my most influential stop motion UA-cam, however I can never go to far with editing because I use an iPad. I hope you carry on with the behind the scenes videos they are really helpful. :)
Hey could you make a video about how you do different types of water in your videos like in you Hobbit trailer, the Hobbit Halloween, and Bard the Bowman. I think they all look good but my favorite is the one where it looks like you use something like plastic wrap. A video showing how you set it up and animate would be awesome!
Could you make a video on how to mask? I don't have a good knowledge of it! Do you know if you could mask of Premiere Pro CC? That's the editing software I use.
hey man, big fan since long ago, had that green screen problem too quite some time ago, it solves easy if you put a stick light between the green screen and the characters to overcast the other lightsources, i bet you knew this since you have a lot of experience, but why didn't you do it? makes me wonder! by the way i keep loving the stuff you do
Then you loose all the animation. Some cameras are only powered by batteries (some you can buy power adapters to plug into the wall) and so you end up shaking the camera while changing the batterie which doesn't make for smooth animation.
Hey Kevin! I enjoy these behind the scenes videos because it gives me ideas for my own videos. I am learning Adobe After Effects and i have learned to green screen and edit a stop motion as well as some other tools. I have a video request for you, now i know you normally dont do those but i was just wondering, could you do an in-depth tutorial on how to mask in AE frame by frame? Thank you :)
Hi Brotherhood Workshop! I would really, really, really appreciate it if you answer this! Could you please make a tutorial for masking? I have After Effects, but I don't know how to make the Lego jump. Thanks so much! This video is amazing just like you! You're the BEST!!!
Ant-Man vs. Iron Man is one your most impressive shorts yet. Especially the opening shot with all the characters fighting. 0:33 was my favorite part though. I wasn't expecting that at all.

Pirate it
Try hit film 4 express. Good masking tools and it's free.
Do what suits you
I enjoy the Behind the Scenes videos even more than the actual productions. Thanks for taking the extra time to post these.
Awesome. I love these videos dude.
Good job with the practical effects! I prefer watching your videos with more practical effects than the ones with a lot of special effects and greenscreens. Keep up the awesome work!!!
You're great with effects and composite shots, but it's always nice to see cool uses of forced perspective and in camera effects. Great work!
Those tips about using the base background image to cover wires and clay was really useful. I've used a base image when masking something so it can be put back on the same background so I could avoid wire being seen but I'd never have thought of using the background itself!
I love these behind the scenes and i really like your videos
The video was brilliant, loved the BTS :)
me 2
BTS? i still dont know... Not the Korean one right?
You did an awesome job dude!! Hope we can see more like that soon!!
Great tips and tricks as usual! Actually using some of these tricks for the stop motion film, I'm currently working on. Keep up the good work!
Wow, your stop motions are so professionally made!
Your stop motion talent is our of this world, I have been inactive on your channel and when I was gonna check on you I said. " He is gonna have like 1 mil subs. " but no, it is so weird. You aren't getting the credit you deserve.
This is true talent. Being able to make great videos with this animation style. Congrats m8. Login what you got so far
It's always cool to see how you do your effects, I may like the behind the scenes better than the video itself
Really like your content. Every animation that comes from this channel is top of the line.
Edbound is better
You are so talented, and you have been the inspiration to all of my films!! I really love your animations!!
Orange Juice30 I subbed you. Could you please sub back?
theLEGObros. Stopmotion I don’t post my animations... I only have a channel to comment. All of my stuff is on my Instagram. @bricksbyhan. But yes. I will sub.
I just wanted to say great work on the writing of the first part of the Star Wars Go Rogue mini series. Hilarious and an original take on the Star Wars universe.
where do you get the printed backdrops? and do you take each individual photo into after effects or just the whole timeline?
My favourite animation so far
Keep up the good work :)
Even as a BTS vid, aspiring animators can learn a lot from watching these. Hell, I'm still learning tricks on After Effects just by experimenting lol. Kudos mate
Thanks for posting this BTS! :D I really enjoyed it
Excellent work as always!!

I think it's awesome how you make BTS videos for most of your animations because they help the smaller animators like me see how we can better ourselves by seeing the techniques! Great job Though Kevin it was a great video!
Very good man, you are so good at this.
Thank you so much for posting this. It was really helpful. Love your videos!
Amazing as always!
That was so cool! awesome BTS! :)

He printed the backdrop at Costco.
Nice! Just sees how hard you work to entertain us!

+BrotherhoodWorkshop Wow! Thanks a bunch for responding! Keep up the great work!
very great work man keep it up
I like your stopmotion video's, and its intresting to see how you've made it
I'm glad you're going back to less green screening. I never minded it too much, but I find stuff looks better in camera.
I agree!
This stop motion was amazing. Your bts vids are really cool too, but it'd be good if they were a little longer :)
How do you make shadow on a character in after efdect
I usually duplicate the layer, darken it, make it transparent, add some bur, and position it on the ground.
+BrotherhoodWorkshop thank you so much
I talk about that in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/nmm0A6TjEQA/v-deo.htmlm14s
+BrotherhoodWorkshop do you render in mp4
+BrotherhoodWorkshop awesome you have been my most influential stop motion UA-cam, however I can never go to far with editing because I use an iPad. I hope you carry on with the behind the scenes videos they are really helpful. :)
congratulation to 100 videos
I love your behind the scenes!!! You're so inspiring.
I love you vids man!
i would love to watch an unedited version of theese stopmotions

He used this film gel that goes over light to change the color.
Another great video

At 1:58 sponded
New word for the dictionary
he said funded
You should've made the wires and clay green to effect better.

I have that set too, tour video is the best
1:13 was he fighting ant-man or spider man
MLG SWAG TOXIC PEA PLUSH REALLY!!!!!!!!!????!!!!
you're a genius!! Pirates Of The Caribean can be a great idea.
Great work... a lot goes into a small video 👍😯
BrotherhoodWorkshop a suggestion you should make a Batman and Robin animation video. Keep up the good work :-)
What do you do when your camera battery is dead in the middle of animating , and you have to move the camera to change it
I bought a power adaptor that allows me to plug directly into the wall. In the past I had two batteries I would swap out, and that was a real pain.
will this is a silly question u charge it
+Jordan Wheeler you clearly don't understand my question
SohilProductions I do but u said a silly question " what u do when your camera battery is dead in the middle of animating" CHARGE THE CAMERA
Then you loose all the animation. Some cameras are only powered by batteries (some you can buy power adapters to plug into the wall) and so you end up shaking the camera while changing the batterie which doesn't make for smooth animation.
Que programa usa para editar sus vídeos de stop motion
Please make a tutorial about how to make special effect and make thing fly in dragonframe. Thank you.
Brotherhood workshop could you please do your life in Lego from when you were a boy and started animating and now
wow i just setup my new animation area and i was looking for behind the scenes of other peoples, and this pooped up in my subscriptions :D
BRILLIANT
did you use live action for the wookie gunship?
that big guy looks like a mag unit
Fantastic!
what wire did u use? this is awesome! id love to use that technique
Man that's insane
Will you ever animate more Tobuscus Adventures soon?
That Hishe shirt!
What type of wires?
No specific brand. I got them at a craft store. Something stiff enough to keep things upright, but not too difficult to move and not to sharp.
+BrotherhoodWorkshop ok, thanks bud!
You do do good work😍😍😍
Thank you :)
can you show us how to do stop motion for beginners because some stuff look hard thanks appreciate if you do!
Amazing as always! What is the tool you use to suspend the hulk buster in the air? I mean the bar that the wire is on?
It's called a C-Stand
cool! thanks!
+BrotherhoodWorkshop You could really make a lego show on your channel. 6 to 11 minutes, but that would take way too much time.
Can you do the Lego rouge one trailer 2?
Wow...that is a LOT of work...:o
Totally worth it my friend :)
I can't disagree with that! x3
Hi Brotherhood Workshop! I would really, really, really appreciate it if you answer this! Could you please make a tutorial for masking? I have After Effects, but I don't know how to make the Lego jump. Thanks so much! This video is amazing just like you! You're the BEST!!!
If you just look up Adobe After Effects masking tutorial you should find one.
THE X-TREME TEAM I did but it never showed the one I wanted
RivanRoyFilms Sorry then :( I'll try to look for something. I remember this really good and helpful one, but I can't seem to find it.
Awesome!
Do you use bricklink at all?
You make amazing videos. What app do you use to edit and take away the wires?
I really need to get back into animating stuff. Forgot how much I loved doing it.
Great video
that is amazing, i could never do something like that. ps i just realised he was wearing a hishe shirt
A HISHE shirt. Nice
Can you pleaae edit a video of I email it to you?
I already have Crunchyroll, its a great app!
So do you usually shoot every shot in 4:3 and then afterwards put the clips to the aspect ratio that you want?
yup
Neato Burrito
+BrotherhoodWorkshop hey could you check out my channel I'm trying to do stop motion just tell me what I need to improve
I have one question could you do a stopmotions with this app called stopmotions studios
where do you get your sets
stores
Hi, BrotherhoodWorkshop. For your close up shots, do you use a simple macro close-up lens attachment? Thanks
He only owns an average 18-55 mm lens. To get the close-ups he just zooms it in in post.
Thank you.
Can you give me any tips on how to make the walking more smooth
There's no real trick. You make the movements smaller and take more frames.
what did you do to remove the shadow of the stand I mean like you mask it and then what
Usually use the clean frame to paint out shadows when need be.
You r really lucky for having the big ant man
