    Ant-Man vs. Iron Man is one your most impressive shorts yet. Especially the opening shot with all the characters fighting. 0:33 was my favorite part though. I wasn't expecting that at all.

    Absolutely love your bts videos. Gives me a lot of good ideas and things to try. Never really wanted to spend the money on after effects but it looks like the way to for removing wires and string.

      I can sympathize. I hate spending money, even when I know it will be worth it. But I assure you, if you plan on doing videos like this, AE is SO worth it.

    Those tips about using the base background image to cover wires and clay was really useful. I've used a base image when masking something so it can be put back on the same background so I could avoid wire being seen but I'd never have thought of using the background itself!

    Hello Brotherhood Workshop. I have a very cool technique when making the scene where every one was fighting. Make a scene where iron man and captain America are fighting. The camera does not move. Now animate two other characters like Winter Soldier and Black Panther in front of a green screen and edit them into a position. If you do it correctly, you wouldn't to animate every single minifigure for one frame then another

  • @JAStudios

    Amazing! Love your creativity when it comes to editing and green screen! I have just recently found out how to do green screen and masking, and it's so fun! The problem is is that when I do masking, the 2nd layer has a different shade of light, since I'm having problems with light flickr. I wish to be good like you some day! Keep up the great work!

  • @TheBohrokMan

    Great BTS video! I loved the use of forced perspective for the size changing, it's great to see animation that takes advantage of all of the interesting things possible with stop motion. And it ended up looking super smooth and seamless in the end too!
    I also thought the printed backdrop ended up looking great, did you find that somewhere or did you print it out yourself? I'd like to do something like that for my next animation so I don't have to worry about using reflective/transparent surfaces or a shallow depth of field for keying.

    Kevin, I am an aspiring animator and really enjoy the behind the scenes videos. They're what actually taught me how to do stop motion, so thank you very much for making this video as awesome as it was! I have a few questions to ask of you. If you'd be willing to answer these, that would be unbelievable! 1: What version of after effects do you use? I have 6. 5 and it doesn't even have chroma key.😕 2: How do you come up with your ideas for your videos? I always seem to be in a real pickle when it comes to getting ideas, which is why I've never made a video that is ever longer than 1 minute. That's all. Thank you so much if you actually read this comment. Many UA-camrs don't respond which drives me away from asking any questions.

    • @BrotherhoodWorkshop
      @BrotherhoodWorkshop  8 років тому

      1. I use CC 2015. I'm surprised your version doesn't have chroma key as that is a basic tool. Have you tried looking for "color key" or "keylight"? 2. I come up with my ideas by watching movies and imagining how things might have played out differently. This video was inspired by the line "anyone else have any shocking abilities they want to reveal right now" from Iron Man. My first thought was "yeah, you do! Bring in Veronica!"

    • @BrotherhoodWorkshop

      I bought a power adaptor that allows me to plug directly into the wall. In the past I had two batteries I would swap out, and that was a real pain.

    • @egg7212
      @egg7212 8 років тому

      Then you loose all the animation. Some cameras are only powered by batteries (some you can buy power adapters to plug into the wall) and so you end up shaking the camera while changing the batterie which doesn't make for smooth animation.
