I watched this match live....I was studying 9th standard then....Sachin showed the world what he was capable off & created many world records......
I am 16 years old .. only DD available in those days ..i underestimated Sachin .. but rest is.. unbelievable..my father & me watched it .. but I lost my father 2 year's back.. life is a memory.

This match was the beginning of a history.. Tendulkar era began with a bang..all other batsman struggled for singles while Tendulkar was hitting sixes with ease..it was nice to see that even though this was an exhibition match, both team played to full potential and crowd looked thoroughly delighted..

I watched this match in the stadium. I remember the three consecutive sixes by Tendulkar off Qadir. This match should have been a precursor for T20 cricket.

Tendulkar was the guy who taught India to start hitting and start wining! As he said in one of his interview back then when he was 19 that he always targeted the best bowler in the opposition and take that guy out of the equation!
@@gurujojo8992 correct. This was the “Sanjay Manjrekar series” as far as India was concerned . Never before and never after did he bat with as much purpose, poise, and persistence as in this series. I would say he was the reason India came back w/o losing a test. And the pitches were fairly benign as well, thwarting the Pak pace battery.

This was also the beginning of a saga wherein, when Sachin occupies the crease and faces more deliveries , India tends to loose more often than not. The non strikers were not able to match the momentum and pace of his innings with very little strike as Sachin use to eat up most of the strike. That's the reason India use to loose most of the matches when Sachin use to play till 35 overs or more and get out while chasing a run rate of 5.50 and above.

And look when Tendulkar got two partners like Dada and Najafgarh nawab shewag IND started winning more matches. And it also jadeja, Srinath and kumble gave in a High level effort and helped to win..... this generation gave the demand of cricket to India.
I think you have had one glass too many before writing this.Its a fact that when Tendulkar batted we used to see that the other batsman is scoring 10 runs while Tendulkar already reached 50 vs Australia 96 World cup.Your assessment of match situations is less than that of a five year old kid I suppose.Tendulkar batted in a team where he knew that others were jokers and wouldn't score even the little bit of runs that are required.Go see his Sharjah innings in 1998 ,innings of 41 from 26 in the independence cup final against Pakistan where India chased down 314 successfully or even his 90 in Bombay 96 World Cup and then tell me if he was batting slow.
