I mean for example Masato from Coldarin isn't singing in Japanese, because he thinks he has an accent - he was born and raised in Japan, but his motherlanguage is English - his mom is from the US and his Dad from Japan. And English has a different pronunciation than Japanese. English isn't my mothertongue neither and I learn Japanese (Englisch C1 (Cambridge Advanced I got 182 point last November) and Japanese A2 (I've got the JLPT N4 in December)). And it is a complet different language with complete different tongue positions in your mouth. And I still don't like to talk in both language that much. I feel the accent in both languages. (My Mothertongue is German - grammaticaly closer to English than Japanese, but did you ever hear the "Swiss-English Accent"? It's horrible XD). When I was in Japan, my Japanese wasn't good at all so I tried English. First: They didn't understand me second: I didn't understand their English at all. Meanwhile I understand Jenglish well XD
I love this song , A Song For You by Donny Hathaway, very much. This song isn't easy to sing. The auditee sang beautifully but, IMO, his voice might suit different genres as well. His vocal control is superb.

Many Japanese sing a lot of English songs in karaoke. Doesn’t mean that they know what the lyrics mean, but sing for the joy
