@4:00 also if you pour a quart or so of hydrogen peroxide in with the water and citric acid it helps eat away the junk and clean up the copper. 551 solution.
Great idea for a big still like that. I have a 1/4 keg with a 4" opening on the top and my arm is just too big to get all the way down into it. I found that a soak in the citric acid solution and a BRAND NEW toilet brush works really well. Emphasis on BRAND NEW !!! ha ha ha. good to have you back brother ! -- den
I start with 25 gallon of mash, counting high shots for the thumper, midlands. Sweet water and tails, I have 5ish gallon out the worm. Would you put the remaining 20ish gallon back in your next mash, or part of it??
How I've been doing it is, I haven't used backset, I add new water and sugar to my corn each time. And I take half the grain off the top after 4th or 5th generation and mash half new to add back in. What's your thoughts about how I do it?? Good, bad, plain out strange??
Good to hear from ya so quick John! Got my coffee out here in the 505 state and getting ready to have 17 yards of concrete poured this morning! I appreciate the tip on citric acid cleaning I’m about to do my first run in a stainless steel 15 gallon beer keg and was trying to come up with a way to get in and scrub it through the two inch opening could sure use some advise on that! Was gonna use vinegar to do the cleaning????? Also after doing a cleaning run on a never used system is it necessary to do a alcohol cleaning run???? Thanks for the vids

Top of the morning to you brother 🇺🇸
I need to find me one of them scrubbers.
I'm going to give the citrus acid a try.
Works wonders if you let it set and you can get the scrubber at Walmart just make sure it has plastic bristle onit
