    A well choreographed and executed maneuver. It's very rewarding to do this correctly without damage or injury and this crew did it well. I just can't imagine how the hitch stayed on the ball with all the uplift created at the coupler by the frame dragging along the breakpoint between the ramp/drave way pitch change. Sorry, gawkers. Nothing to see here but skill and success. Press on!

    If you have ever been a boat owner and were familiar about boat ramps, the sound of grating metal on the pavement in my opinion qualifies as extreme. I was holding my breathe the whole time. Nice job and nice boat.

    Not sure if you guys noticed but I think you may have scraped the trailer a little bit on the ramp. There was a scraping-like noise. Sounded like scraping. Probably scraped the bottom of the trailer a little bit.

    • @paulhunter9613
      @paulhunter9613 4 роки тому +1

      Craig carter, the tongue on the trailer was extended because when the tow vehicle gets to the point of floating the boat off the trailer the tires of the truck are still on dry concrete. Once the rear tires touch the green slime that grows on the ramp, it’s all over, that truck will end up in the water. If you don’t believe me, try walking in the slime at the waters edge and you’ll end up on your butt

    Well done!

  • @GoMiGman
    @GoMiGman 10 років тому +7

    Tremendous. That trailer was bending at the rails pretty good from the weight of that boat at the bow. There was A LOT of stress on the ball clip at the hitch once it started down the ramp I thought it would raise the back end of the truck if it didn't snap out of the ball first but I guess it worked out pretty good. A boat that long you need the really submerge the trailer to get any kind of floating out of that boat. Well done.

    So for those that don't know. Quality T-Tops builds towers and t -tops, fuel tanks and other things for hundreds of boats and manufactures each year. The shop alone hold probably 50 boats at a time. If you listen in the backround you can hear shop noise. This boat was only loaded and unloaded to have work done. Located in Tarpon Springs FL.

    You are supose to prep the boat before putting it in the water, not afterwards. The boat ramp is on then off. If the hitch is adjustable for up/down he should also put it as high as it will go to help with the low slung trailer from dragging so much, or use the big boat ramp longer, more gradual decline.

    My home port is Black River Harbor, North of Bessemer (near Ironwood), MI in the U.P. on Lake Superior. A remote and beautiful port set in the Porcupine Mountains and there is a reason why boat traffic is so light there. This ramp looks flat compared to the grade we deal with at BRH and I've seen guys burning all 4 tires (sliding from side to side) trying to get out their boats out; even on dry days. The charter captains and most larger boats put in/take out at Ontonagan, MI to the East because anything over 23 feet is an adventure on BRH. I always carry a heavy duty strap with hooks, because each year I end up hooking onto a couple of guys to help them out. BRH is one of the most beautiful and remote ports on the Great Lakes. It is located in the Ottawa National Forest (one of the last stands of huge virgin timber), so there are no structures on the high cliffs for miles in either direction. It is in the Porcupine Mts and the several waterfalls on the Black River and a long suspension bridge that spans the river adds to the experience. Some of the best native lake trout fishing on Superior and lots more to do for those who don't fish. Tons of hiking/biking trails. Check out Bear Track Cabins, Powder Hound Lodge and Black River Lodge for great places to stay close to the harbor on Black River Road. A must do is climbing to the top of Copper Peak; which is the highest ski flying (not jumping) hill in the world and one of the highest free standing structures. Open during the summer. After the ride on the ski lift, an elevator takes you up and from there it is 7 stories of narrow, grated steps (you can see through them) to a wooden platform just big enough for 3 people. Definite "pucker factor" involved and the top sticks out over the end of a Mountain, which makes it look much further down. Most people don't make it to the top.

    We used to launch on a jetty me and two pals, literally slowed the boat by hand 25 footer.. used the trailer, took it into the sea and pulled up and out the water, that was double extreme

    I love boating, doesn't matter what type of boat or what the size, from launching to heading out. What a rush.

    what was extreme?

    • @pinecone5034
      @pinecone5034 8 років тому +1

      Normally you can't trailer anything over 35 feet because its too big and too hard to trailer, you would normally hire a company to put this on a tractor trailer and have it lifted out of the water by a crane, but there were doing it on their own

      +Cam Feloney and one more foot is considered extreme?

      Well..
      I didn't know that part about can't trailer any oversized boat but you hire company to do it ..
      I always thought people can buy big tractors can handle that size of a boat !

      I think the only 'extreme' was the sound of the trailer-frame squealing across concrete. I wonder if I can download it as a ring-tone? LOL

    Very impressed they did not disconnect the winch until the boat was wet. Nothing worse than having your boat slide off the trailer before it is wet.

    To some below, ever think maybe they were just trailering it from a spot in the boat yard to the water after winter storage?
