Video is from approximately 1965. Dude, you must go down Bob’s rabbit hole. It’s the deepest and most important there is. Check out The Times They are a Changin’, Like a Rolling Stone, Desolation Row, Hurricane, Blowin’ in the Wind, Mr. Tambourine Man, Just Like a Woman and Boots of Spanish Leather for starters. There are literally hundreds to choose from.
Have heard that song many, many times since seeing him live in Seattle in 1966 before I went into the Air Force, ending up in Germany--and you're the first person that I ever heard try to interpret the song. Many credit Dylan with performing the first rap song with this song. If you like the song, you might want to following the below comment and react to the live performance of "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)."
Yes sir, you pretty much nailed it. He's basically just commenting on the sorry state of the world and offering his observations and advice on how to steer clear of the things that'll send you down the gutter, or blind you into boredom by what society expects of you. This was also one of the first if not the first music videos.
Thanks for your reaction! While this is fresh in your mind, I would highly recommend that you react to or at least check out Weird Al's parody of this "Bob". Weird Al's cover of this song is pure genius as he uses Palindromes (words, phrases or sequence that reads the same forward and backward) on the signs which is amazing enough but he somehow makes the Palindromes rhyme!😲
Among his many accomplishments, Bob Dylan is often credited as having created the first PowerPoint presentation.
first rapper too.
hahaha . . . that and the first rap songs - It's All Right Ma! I'm Only Bleeding. Doesn't matter what era - he fits right in! lol

The man in the back with the walking stick is the most famous beat poet Alan Ginsberg.

Mr.Dylan has hundreds..no shit m
Imagine trying to analyze a Dylan song after hearing only one line. Tough stuff!
You missed the most important line which we should all heed “don’t follow leaders”
I liked your take on the song
Not the usual long winded drivel of a analysis you would hear
noticed alan ginsberg in the background? ;-)
That was the first time I noticed him too.
Now that you have seen this video. You really should check out,
"Bob" by "Weird Al" Yankovic.
