    I am for the Nuclear Reactor as a source of alternative energy, we just need to have the right knowledgeable personnel to operate the site.

    I agree to nuclear energy in the Philippines and the best place to have this is Ilocos Norte or Davao City.

    The Admin should pursue this ASAP, we are in a looming power crisis, Malampaya gas field will be depleting in several years. The goal, 1 nuclear powerplant per region. This will immediately solve our energy crisis. Of course, while mixing renewable energy sources such as geothermal, solar and wind.

    For national security reason, this may be the viable option. Better than relying on imported energy sources like oil and coal.

    Anc is deleting comments, Reactors, which rely on technologies developed over 40 years ago. They are expensive to build and even more so to maintain across their lifecycle. Costs do not just concern the initial construction, but also the ongoing price of fuels, operational costs, and engineering fees. And then there’s the problem of the nuclear waste.
    Nuclear energy ‘does not reduce the price of electricity’
    Nuclear power plants can be attractive for their owners but not necessarily for consumers as they hardly ever determine the price of electricity on the energy exchange.
    If you replace the capacity of a nuclear power plant for example by the capacity of a coal power plant, the price will not change because it is still the natural gas power plant being the most expensive one and deciding about the price.
    This is a question of who gains and who pays. When somebody says that the nuclear power plant is cheap, it is for the owner but not necessarily for the consumer.

    Nuclear is much cheaper than dirty carbon, that we need the most in the Philippines for now, hopefully we can build a nuclear power plant to lessen the electricity expenses

    yeah carbon free, hello radioactive nuclear wastes. if you think plastic is bad, radioactive nuclear wastes are way2x worst. currently, there's a lot of censorship & misdirection about the true nature of radioactive nuclear wastes. that censorship & misdirection weren't so pervasive way back when journalists had integrity & seriously did their job. here's an example of journalism getting to the bottom of the nuclear wastes topic. >>> ua-cam.com/video/McrytYdId5M/v-deo.html

    Why build A power plants that are expensive and with waste problems? Waste that must be stored for many thousands of years.
    The Philippines has so much geothermal heat that it is free energy and requires little security and maintenance. Look at Iceland which has similar geosubsoil to the Philippines. They have free heating of houses as well as hot water and electricity.
    Why is the Philippines not looking at the long term solution?

    • @danadurnfordkevinblanchdebunk

      @AndersGetherSoerensen 2 дні тому

      @@danadurnfordkevinblanchdebunk It is your own choice. I just think that the advocates of A-power plants ignore the problems associated with their operation. Especially the trash. And there is no waste with geothermal heat that produces electricity. And it can be produced on virtually all the major islands in the Philippines and with cables to the smaller islands. A-power plants are more expensive and take at least 10 years to build. At that time, many geothermal plants could be built for less money and without waste.

    • @ungas024
      @ungas024 2 дні тому

      @@AndersGetherSoerensen Because it is hard to locate those Geothermal hot spots. In addition, it will only be available in some places but not the entire country especially in big Cities. Take note, that those plants are also expensive and most of the time the electricity rate is twice that of Coal.
