@@berg210 why do you think medium size dogs can't kill cats? it happens all the time.
Look at that tongue dodge at 0:28! Fantastic reflexes!
I watched a documentary on domestic cats in which they now think that they can use all the whiskers on their faces to detect tiny movements with them. To the point of people not knowing that their cats had gone blind, and I can verify this. I took our 19 year old Siamese to the vet and she told me he had gone blind. I didn't know! He still walked around the house like he owned it.

I just love the crazy eyes that servals all seem to have. My newest cat, whom I adopted from a shelter because of her resemblance to a savannah/serval both in looks & personality, also has the crazy eyes haha. She also has rather large ears for her head so when she gets all hyper (which is let's face it, always) her facial expressions are just ridiculous. I swear she must be low gen savannah mix/abby/ or bengal because she is wickedly intelligent and only has two settings: hyper kitty on crack or passed out sleeping & dead to the world.
Aww, I'd love to see video of her, she sounds awesome!
I like that description. on Crack, or passed out completely.
At the very least a serval in spirit. Sounds like such a nice cat ^-^

The cat is SO incredibly fast. Reaction time and reflexes are off the chart. Brilliant tactic of placing that extended foot enables the cat to not only feel the dog tense before moving but to slow any actual move by the dog to close the distance between them.
Kudos to Jagger's calm playful demeanour. 👍❤
GS was so tense and could easily escalate to being aggressive. Yet Jagger kept it cool and even went further by laying down and exposing his belly.
The reflexes of the Serval are insane, almost instantaneous. The dog, OTH, wasn't backing down -- I don't think the cats gonna park itself in a hallway and have the dog be afraid to walk by it.
The cat’s speed is unbelievable. Amazing.
This is so cool. The serval did play bows for the doggo to show it was okay, and doggo licked his nose to show he didn't want to fight. they could be good friends

@@themonsterunderyourbed9408 a serval is a slightly larger version of a house cat and would have very little chance in a do or die match. Smart Serval. I am always amazed at how fast cats are.
That has got to be the most awesome dog in his behaviors while the cat interacted with him. I seen in my two boys now 11 months old. How learning to play is a skill that is learned, while some pleasant and nice, others hostile and mean.

Second fastest cat in the World -- if it was as big as a Cheetah it would run 120 mph

They're playing, fool.
The dog is thinking-ok, a cat, I should chase it up a tree, however it looks like it could kick my ass!
I’m also from Sask, curious about your cat. Are we allowed to get them anymore? How big is yours?
The cat is saying: "you are not a German shepherd, I am not a sheep"
He was feeling the neck for the jugular. The dog was dead seconds after the filming stopped...
You clearly see at the end of the film the cat went down submissive bowed his head first before the dog and stopped making eye contact. Those are signs of submission or just wants to play. Plus if that cat wanted the dog dead he would be have to be quick about it. Once the German shepherd gets a hold of the cat its over for the cat. All the 400 lbs of force is going to break those bones that cat has.
Břęňđąñ MçĆæřţhý Servals lie down to show confidence. They have one of the fastest reflexes
Beautiful serval. Very clever and smart as well!
That German Shepard is really smart. It knows that servals like other wild cats always attacks their prey by the neck and goes for the kill
As do canines as well.
That's no German Shepherd
Sure, they hunt small prey in the wild. German shepards can get up to 65KG dude... And they were bred for over 100 years to rip out humans jugulars on a battlefield. No offence but trying to compare the serval to a german shepard is like comparing a Tank to a Nuclear missile and saying the tank can cause as much destruction.
i'm glad someone here isn't completely ignorant. i've seen Shepherds get attacked by much larger rottweilers and dobermans. before you know it the shepherd has the other dog by the neck and the fight is over. there is usually no beating their intelligence when the shepherd is on his guard.
Thats not a German Shepherd...
Cat: Play.. Play with me friendo.
Dog: Who are you..?
hehe like how he holds the dog back =D nice video, very dangerous Kitty LOL =P
That cat is trying to figure out how to attack and eat his super meal, it's bigger than what he's used to, "No more talk"
Jagger assumed the submissive position.
I believe you are reading cats wrong, dogs submit on their back or low head, for cats its the other way around, they fight low & back allows them to attack with their hind legs, she is inviting him to attack.
Christian King actually when a cat exposes their stomach like that it means they aren't in a attacking mode. Because their stomach is an extremely vulnerable spot.
Chel X This is incorrect, this is a playful attack position. It invites an attack which my Bengal always does all the time during play. And if you ever own a cat they behave similar to cats in the wild, they show submission by lowering their body to the ground with head down. There is also no 100% submission with cats, because their instinct is fight or flight. Lions are a great example because after they encounter their foes the submission pose is what I explained. Here is an example of a cat submission watch till the end. ua-cam.com/video/g0MoTUtP1WU/v-deo.html
Chel X I think you need to do some research, watch a cat when you give it a stuffed toy their front paws are to grab the object towards them for a bite, meanwhile they use their hind legs to kick and scratch. You can also watch big cats or regular cats do this. Cats only assume submissive positions when they go on all four down on the ground with their bellies touching the floor. I own a bengal who play with other bengals and this is exactly what you see until you see their dominant side.
+Daniel Hunter UMMMM, no.......Cats many times launch deadly attacks from that position.
Serval: Dude, back off. BITES

"We're both beating each other up and french kissing at the same time. Mmm. 💜"

See how the Serval puts its paw on the dog. Boxers also do this tactic as well as you can feel any movement from the other object. It shows the Serval isn't dumb and we also use this tactic.
In response to many comments here, Servals can indeed be wonderful companions, but they are also wild cats that require special environments and care and should NOT be kept as pets. See bigcatrescue.org.

define pet "a domestic or tamed animal kept for companionship or pleasure".
You said they make good companions isn't that the same thing? I won't get one unless I had permit, land, walls, and basics it needs to survive. I enjoy watching though.
What a moron.
"Companion animal" is PeTAzoid for "pet". And Big Cat Rescue is shady AF. Go on FB, check out "Big Cat Rescue Watch". Servals do have specific requirements, like any other animal. Most servals who live with humans are from lineages which have been tame for multiple generations. They do not exhibit domestication syndrome (floppy ears, neoteny) but they are not dangerous unless mishandled, like most animals. Unlike a tiger, they don't outweigh their owners by hundreds of pounds and do not therefore have the problem where they can hurt you badly without meaning to do so. They also bond very intently with a particular human and suffer psychological damage if abandoned, so getting one is a lifetime commitment, but that should be true of any animal you keep.
Even if Big Cat Rescue weren't run by Carole (who is a failed exotic animal exhibitor/trader), rescues by definition exist to take care of animals that have not been properly cared for. The servals they care for have been abandoned or mistreated and were previously owned by people who did not do their homework and properly evaluate their ability to properly house, feed and raise a 40-pound cat that can jump up higher than their heads and requires space to play in and live/raw food.
But it's a 40-pound cat and if you get one here in the US it has probably been decently socialised; if you do your homework, set up the proper living space and are able to afford food and the proper vet (oh, and live in a state where animal 'rights' --not animal welfare-- advocates haven't written them into laws that were intended to keep people from keeping 600 pound tigers in apartments or suburban areas) you will probably do just fine. You just have to get in touch with Feline Conservation Federation or good serval people and learn how to take care of them. You might find out in the course of doing your homework that you'd rather have a Savannah cat or even just a regular cat, and that's good too; but if you learn how to care for a serval and want to make the commitment, go for it. I don't have a serval because I live in an apartment in California, but I sure would if I had a house with a yard and could put up an enclosure.
That cat is studying the Shepherd for weak spots.
The dog is trying to BITE while the serval is trying to play. Dogs huh
