Ep3 - 'Pyrenees, Portugal & Picos' Tour (1st - 18th Sept 2022)

- This is Episode 3 of my tour, covering Days 9 to 10 of my fantastic 18-day trip from the UK via Northern Spain to the 'Pyrenees, Portugal & Picos'.
The entire tour covered a ride into the Pyrenees, then across Spain to the highest area in Portugal, and then North into the wonderful Picos National Park at Fuente De, to spend our few last days exploring before returning via the Bilbao ferry.
The tour was organised by myself and Wayne Morris. Joining us, were 19 fellow motorcycle club members of the UK motorcycling club, www.pemc.co.uk. The PEMC club has over 300 members, mostly based in the UK, who enjoy a wide variety of well-priced events and trips based around the UK & Europe.
Day 9 ~ We rode 233 miles Westerly, from the Parador de Cuenca in the historic City of Cuenca, across the central countryside to the South of Madrid, to our wonderful evening accommodation at the Parador de Guadalupe…and not without a little last-minute drama!
Day 10 ~ We rode 202 miles Westerly, from the charming town of Guadalupe to our accommodation for the next two nights at the Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela, just West of the City of Covilha, located at 1,550m among the highest mountains in the Portugal.

Yup, they don't help. If I'd had a continuous ride into the hotel it might not have happened but think the V of the road and turn, caught me out mostly...Ho Hum!

Stayed in the Luna Hotel in June, my friend and I had come the opposite way over Torre. It was 6 degrees at the top, we did not have an al fresco beer that evening.
Just editing Ep4 riding around the top...and it was sunny but windy that day!

Always watch these videos, but looks like you're chasing the miles on straight open roads, less miles more winding roads, I'm halfway through looks like it's getting more twisty.
Hi Alan, you're right, it was a bit of a main roads day...but we had to get West in the time available. I had others to think about too and the objective was to get to Gaudalupe at a decent hour for some sightseeing before evening meal. Stick with it, because curves are what most of the contingent signed up for!
The UK registered car and the angles in the street caught me out? You just dropped your bike, we've all done it, nobody else's fault
There's usually a reason a bike is dropped Danny, as I don't drop the bike every time I ride it...normally!😂
@@YarroMoto 20:22 you’re right these things don’t always just happen did your kill switch get hit ? Watching that back you have 3-4K rpm on for the turn then a click a red light comes on right side of clocks and revs drop all at the same time and then the bike goes over. 😢
