PLEASE explain I'll do it right now
Blame the game and the way it was developed. The way your matched with a player doesn't allow for a wide skill rank difference. Because the game is so technical the skill gaps between players matched are much closer (obviously except the ridiculous amount of smurfs). You really only lose easily refocused skills when switching cars and you can practice, depending how good you already are you'll get used to it fast. But you're not pro with it per say since you KNOW your default cars mechanics spot on basically. You drop down a few skill levels when you switch to a new car and theirs no wiggle room in the matchmaking to catch back up fast enough.
I've played with every single car and I'm d2 still switching through 5 non meta cars
I used the delorean for years and was stuck in silver and then i switch to the octane and suddenly i was still stuck in silver

Personally I like switching between the skyline and octane bcuz they r similar and everytime I switch back to the octane from skyline it feels really clean

@@ramkay4943 it's not a joke. Breakout is a very good car.
Breakout is good for airdribbles because of the visual cues, it's easier to see exactly where you're hitting the ball similarly with batmobile for example. I practically main the venom, but because it's from hitbox doesn't match up as well with the visuals of the car it's more difficult to airdribble with than for example the skyline, which also uses the hybrid hitbox.

takumi is probally the smallest car in car soccer, but still another car with octane hitbox , im playing this game from 2,5 years but i would like to know how is it to play with different hitbox , now there is only 5 hitbox types

Every time I ask someone, they eventually bring up a pro/YTer, they use the Octane because pros/YTers use it, pros use it because they're used to it, YTers use it because pros do or they are pro with a channel.
Basically, YT and the pro scene is to blame. Remove them from the situation and people use other cars.
grog is awesome! it and roadhog both have the exact same stats as octane but they fill the hitbox more accurately so its easier to visualize how your touch will bounce.

I use the Octane simply because there are so many decals for it. Design wise, there are so many looks you can give it, that alone is enough to keep me satisfied.
My main is the Endo. Problem is, there's just a couple of decals for it, and they aren't nearly as versatile. And BMDs lock your paint finish, so I dislike using them in general.
Try black market decals, I'm an endo main and I use heatwave, it is the best looking car in the game.
Hexed & Labyrinth both cheap BMD's that look gr8 on endo. Hexed ofc if you want that secondary colour.

Breakout is so under appreciated...
Shorter dominus with insane good turn rate. Personally I play bad with breakout.
Indeed i prefer breakout over dominus i feel its faster and has more powerful hits.Also its easier to air drag and dribbleb with it than the dominus.I might be wrong but this is how i feel about the breakout

Ehhh, no one is gonna acknowledge that the turn rate is like the exact same on all the cars?
I started out using the Octane, tried the Breakout, and now it's my car of choice. Even though it may not make a huge difference, or any difference at all, I like that it's flat and more squared off.
My favorite is the breakout bc it feels lighter and a bigger hit box

Breakout is so good for basketball mode, it's low so you get under the ball and get ez shots

@@wbh623 never really played with it, I found it bulky, I used mostly the Jager RS, dominus/gt, scarab, imperator, the fortnite bus and 4x4 from the last rocket pass 👌
Dominus makes me feel like a sniper, scarab is great for wall and ground shots, fortnite bus hits strong but is a bit bulky, the 4x4 and jager are quite polyvalent, and the imperator is nice

Zippy is my main, octane when im tryna sweat, scarab for when im just chilling, grog for when im in a losing slump, always seems to bring me back up
I'm a Zippy fan too. I got the dlc pack just to complete trophy challenges but I have gone back to it as a main. I use the Twinzer, Mudcat GXT and Octane as well.

THANK YOU! Someone else who isn't afraid to call out Octane users. It IS NOT the best vehicle in game. It's an old belief that people refuse to acknowledge as an old belief. Let's get the next batch of Grand Champs out there using a variety of cars so people can leave their ego out of the game.
David Escobar I frequently swap between the 3 depending on how I feel. Usually though when I wanna play at my best I go to the Octane again. It's just what I'm more comfortable with. I used it when I first started playing and haven't changed since the Batmobile came out and I started playing around with that, which made me wanna try another flat car, the Dominus. No car is better than another, but preference tops all.
I like it for the shape honestly
Not saying its the best, but it does feel different (and to me, better) compared to the car I ran exclusively since I started playing rocket league (the Dominus).

Dude, i use Takumi RXT and i feel more comfy than the Octane, however my second fav is the octane but Takumi it's very good as well, you should try it :3

The takumi literally the exact same car as an octane. It's just a reskin basically. Has the same hitbox the same handling the same everything

I use the Octane with ET wheels and tech painting. Isn’t too short that you cant hit the ball, but isn’t too tall that it’s painful trying to drive.
I think the variety in cars that people use has gone up quite a lot lately. I’ve seen a lot of people playing with twinzer, jaeger, venom, and a lot of other cars lately. Had a whole lobby with no octane in it. Crazy, I know.

Yeah, this is happening to me too, i myself was using the Skyline - entered a 2 v 2 competitive match and my teammate had a breakout - the other 2 opponents had a X Devil MK2 and a Maverick. No Octane... i was surprised - even the next match i didn't see an octane.

Okay let me say this. I used to love to use octanes but everytime I nearly hit a CRACKED shot I’m always short because of the length. That’s why I switched to dominus because it was a nice length and I ended up scoring some insane shot but the only reason I switched to dominus is cause I didn’t have fennec and now I’m used to the dominus so I’m not switching back to fennec or octane soooo
I’m a Switch player and I used to only rock the exclusive Samus Car and indeed reject others. The thing that made me try the others though, was the option of customization. You cannot customize the samus car. This made me have tons of playing sessions with Octane, Breakout, Takumi, Dominus and now the Fennec.

When I picked up Rocket League, I originally chose cars based on looks. I saw a video looking at how different cars performed and while the octane was rarely the best, it was always top three, so I'm sticking with it

the octane is the best because it generates the most lift. it has those little bumps on its roof which induce turbulences which reduces the pressure differential when the boundary layer seperates.
This video needs an update
in terms of goals and time every number no matter how small or how big counts. I hate the octane look but it does make goals so much easier.
I have the most time put using The Nimbus and managed to reach Diamond in solo and standard. It’s literally just about preference in design

Well I use the delorean, the hit box is smaller than other cars it’s true and you notice it in game play. But depending on how you get used to the specific car you use matters way more than the car you choose.

I use the hotshot because it makes the rick and morty stuff look cooler and because I like the way skinny cars feel when I'm controlling them. Bigger cars like the sweet tooth feel a bit clumsier.

I’m a Domininus guy, but the Octane has a far better turning radius. Especially in 1:1 situations. It turns around at nearly double the speed of most vehicles.

I like the Octane because it seems like it has the best decals. They're so good and the Octane just seems to have so much more options to make it look good.

Oh, I never knew people cared about which car they use strategically... I have like 7-8 presets each with a specific theme (rick & morty, hippie van, moon rover, mad max, etc.) and I use whichever I feel like using. Got me to diamond so I guess it worked for me
I love using the Scarab. The funny reactions of what people type when I beat them makes me laugh.
I’m a big fan of the Grog, don’t know why but I just do really well with it.
Funny story the grog and scarabs hit box is the octanes with little adjustments

The merc is actually the most superior car to choose from. Because its chunky, but it also has quick air rolls.
I didn’t think the ‘16 batmobile was *this* good, I just thought it looked sicc and it came with the cartridge I got for christmas so I use it a lot. Also I barely see any batmobiles in silver 2-3 and gold 1-2.

It's basic psychology and the fact that each car is a little bit different than the next
I use the octane alot, but tbh, I just like to use cars that look super cool.
Program an octane to have the same hit box as one of the bad cars. Then do a blind test with a pro player to see if they can tell if they have the normal or modified car.
I always use the long flat RP car.
The octane hitbox is the best. The octane and the fennec are the best because they accurately show the hitbox.
