I kinda hope more biomes are added for the biome blade, I thought it was pretty neat how it added nice-though not hugely game altering-effects reflecting the biome you were in
I feel like it's a bit too much like other mods, though I don't see a better alternative to what we have now and it should be fine if this style is unique to a few thigs.
@@ARandomSpace Starlight River mod is a mod with similar style to the new reworked weapons and yeah it can be a little too much and can get in the view betwren boss fights. But you gotta agree on that its a pretty cool addition to the mod.
A lot of the different forms have names that kinda remind me of some items in Risk of Rain 2. For example: "Grovetender" is a boss in that game, "Her biting embrace" is the aspect you can obtain from killing ice-elite enemies, "Gesture of the drowned" is a luna (cursed) item, "N'kuhana's Retort" is the aspect you can obtain from killing malachite-elite type enemies, "Mercurial Rachis" is another luna item. Not saying these were intentional (and some of my examples are kind of a far reach) but still kinda cool if it was actually intended.
Looks like Calamity devs caught that some other mods are far more creative with their approach to making weapons and other stuff, and decided to catch up. I like to see it ;D

Melee weapon just went from being really plain just shooting out projectiles to very unique and interesting weapons. Also the new looks of these weapons are amazing
In my humble opinion, this rework may be the best of all in most of calamity history. AotC is much more fun to use, as much as it's crafting ingredients are. Instead of just swinging the sword downside, now you can try yourself do some combos, to maximize your dps. Just awesome.
what combos? literally 99% of the people i see use the ark of cosmos reworked just spam the attack button while air parrying for the buff, anyway the Rework is amazing
@@ManuDelta1805 1st swing cycle + mid air snap, 2 attacks, after that parry and attack 2 times before using the right click dash. This is my personal best combo, able to deal 90k dps
Just Scorched Earth, Universal Genesis and Pumpler that i find it not very beautiful, they seem powerful but not beautiful ( also, it seems that the Clockwork Bow was nerfed, but its sprite is very beautiful )
A few things he didn't mention were true biome blade and galaxia's passives, galaxia has a set passive depending on the attunement used though, also for the one with galaxia and the circles around it, you can acually fling yourself by pressing attack again, same with ark of the cosmos but only on the parry scissor rift
Holy shit man you used Starbound music! I heard the first five seconds the nostalgia just hit me like a brick to the face. I have over 350 hours in that game but I haven't touched it in like 5 years. I remember just spending the entire day after school exploring all the worlds. I completely converted an ocean world into a healing water world once, I think that took around 10 hours. Sometimes I didn't even play the game, just sat there on a world listening to the music. The Starbound ost is one of the best I've ever heard. I don't think any other game has made me just stop whatever I was doing to listen to the music instead of playing. Thank you man for the nostalgia, I'm gonna go replay the ever living shit out of it now.

I was grinding for the before 1.5.1 biome blade and was 1 off for coral then i updated it and was sad then got bbb then saw its op I love the rework its amazing
some of the broken biome blades seem to be risk of rain 2 references. the elite equipment "Her Biting Embrace" for the snow biome's "Biting Embrace" as well as "Decay's Retort" for the corruption in place of "N'Kuhana's Retort" and the jungle being "Grovetender's Touch" after the boss called The Grovetender

There are only 2 places in progression where these weapons are not stronh enough, this being right before Moon Lord and from DoG to Yharon. For pre-Moon Lord I suggest using Daybreak (something like that) and for DoG Banshee's Hook does the job done
As a huge sucker for anything space related, The galaxia is so cool. Especially how it’s like different constellations and stuff. Also the ark of the cosmos looks super cool, Same with the universal genesis.
So glad the biome blade is getting some work done on it. It was a cool concept before but just used as materials for the AotC. Now it’s super cool and viable

in my opinion, this is a really top sword, if you remember that this sword was 5-4 years old when I first started playing with mods, and in principle I learned about calamity, once they made a new thing for a sprite and shells, which was cool and I was surprised in the sense that with the development of the character for a warrior, the sword becomes cooler, but whatever the different types of attacks and mechanics depending on the biome, honestly, the DPS is just cool, the main thing is that it would not be heavily nerfed in the future, but visually it looks simple divine if they do this with many things in calamity, then calamity can really be considered as in a new mod literally like a phoenix, you kind of know what's next, but it's still interesting to play around.
Now dont get me wrong the new biome blade is awesome but im still not on board with the actual biome specific effect gimmick and I wish the old biome blade wasn't removed
I hope stuff like this doesn't become common. Yes, copying too much from vanilla is bad, though going too far off the rails from what's been estsblished by your past is also weird. Seraphim especially and the Galaxia/Arc line look too flashly, which can be distracting and disrupt your gameplay.
@Zachary Chandra agree. There should be an option to disable or to lower the particals so the screen doesn't get too cluttered with flashy lights and stuff.

I am doing an only biome blade(and upgraded version) character and i didn't except the rework so when i updated the mod i was stunned by how beautiful the new biome blade was, and this vidoe helps me a lot so yeah.
I think that they are really cool swords, but from my experience i dont really like how they work, they dont feel as satisfying to use as the old ones, they look awesome but i just prefer using the old weapons more. In my opinion i feel like they should have kept the biome blade weapons and just made this a new set of weapons. New ark of the cosmos is awesome but RIP my favorite weapon

Ark of the Cosmos will always have a soft spot in my heart. I recently finished Calamity (I didn't really know what I was doing tbh) and Ark of the Cosmos is what allowed me to take down Supreme Calamitas when she was out of range of the Murasama.
@@lucklessfool A reminder that a lot of the bosses in calamity (I play on death mode minimum) will piledrive you into oblivion in 3 - 4 hits. Yes, the parry can someone negate that somewhat, but then it just turns into either "never get hit via parry" or "panic run away". As for originality, I see little more than a pile of references. Not kidding when I say I'll be dropping the entire weapon line (potentially the melee class as a whole) due to this.
@@lucklessfool Not just talking about Cal. Just about every boss after moon lord will murder you in a few hits. Cal just decides that number is 2, assuming you are at full HP. Even a weaker boss like dragonfolly still does a whopping 350 damage per hit, with its summons doing 250. Contact damage isn't bad, assuming you can avoid it. Which you can't at such close ranges.
Also, I’d argue that saying “the weapon is sick, the problem is the bosses” doesn’t work because the weapons from the mod should be able to reasonably kill the bosses in the same mod. Sure the visuals look cool, but if the weapons and bosses are incompatible then the visuals don’t really matter much if you can’t use them.
Same (I also think this the ark of the elements looks better than it’s final upgrade, just seems more visually stunning in sprite design when compared)

Even though I’m late to this, I honestly miss the old biome blade/ark of the ancients upgrades, because they were more simpler and easier to use.
Men the developers have the potential to make this mod better than anything, they just need to have more creativity and motivation and also patience

I remember being so friggin happy when I first found that they included the Levin Sword from Fire Emblem Awakening.
Even though these new versions are more interesting mechanically, I'll definitely miss the beautiful simplicity of the old ones.
Yea I think the same mean like the old one is very easy to use and straight forward I don't really like the new one I wish there is a mod that add the old biome blade

how, it was literally just point and shoot generic melee weapon #63631, nothing was special about it apart from the sprite looking cool

So the biome blade can now use the power of biomes.i like that change it kinda reminds me of kirby. The other weapon overhauls (like ark of the cosmos) reminds me of video game combat mechanic like in kirby, advent neon etc. Wich is sick
I am doing an only biome blade(and upgraded version) character and i didn't except the rework so when i updated the mod i was stunned by how beautiful the new biome blade was, and this vidoe helps me a lot so yeah.
This update makes me wanna do a full biome blade + ark playthrough
The yharon kindle staff also got changed it no longer summons son of yharon instead it summons a draconid

I think that they are really cool swords, but from my experience i dont really like how they work, they dont feel as satisfying to use as the old ones, they look awesome but i just prefer using the old weapons more. In my opinion i feel like they should have kept the biome blade weapons and just made this a new set of weapons. New ark of the cosmos is awesome but RIP my favorite weapon

Terraria calamity mod is something else, these weapons looks so op and so does the boss battles
Ark of the Cosmos will always have a soft spot in my heart.
I recently finished Calamity (I didn't really know what I was doing tbh) and Ark of the Cosmos is what allowed me to take down Supreme Calamitas when she was out of range of the Murasama.
Unpopular opinion. I preferred the original weapon line to this.

@@lucklessfool A reminder that a lot of the bosses in calamity (I play on death mode minimum) will piledrive you into oblivion in 3 - 4 hits. Yes, the parry can someone negate that somewhat, but then it just turns into either "never get hit via parry" or "panic run away". As for originality, I see little more than a pile of references. Not kidding when I say I'll be dropping the entire weapon line (potentially the melee class as a whole) due to this.
@@AccessTheGamer that’s more an issue of cals boss design being complete dogwater than it is an issue with the weapon line, contact damage is a plague
@@lucklessfool Not just talking about Cal. Just about every boss after moon lord will murder you in a few hits. Cal just decides that number is 2, assuming you are at full HP. Even a weaker boss like dragonfolly still does a whopping 350 damage per hit, with its summons doing 250. Contact damage isn't bad, assuming you can avoid it. Which you can't at such close ranges.
Also, I’d argue that saying “the weapon is sick, the problem is the bosses” doesn’t work because the weapons from the mod should be able to reasonably kill the bosses in the same mod. Sure the visuals look cool, but if the weapons and bosses are incompatible then the visuals don’t really matter much if you can’t use them.
I love how some of the broken biome blades and biome blades look like glass
