So much control! Wow, and her leaps have really improved. And that triple at 1:05 perfect, I love the sassy look she gave. She has matured so much and is really listening to the music and not just doing the choreography now. I love watching her career blossom because she will be a force to reckon with.
This girl would have had potential to be a great dancer had she not been put on pointe too early. It is sad but if you watch her feet she has clearly sustained deformation and will not be able to have a career of any length, if at all. Shame
That is not from going on pointe too early but from not being corrected with her technique. It sometimes can be not the right shoes or she may need a wider shoe.
People in Russia put the girls on pointe when they are 8 and they end up in the Bolshoi, just look at Svetlana Zarkhovora... Truly beautiful! I'm not asking for an argument or hate but I think enough people have commented about how young she went on pointe. Just let it go!
Most people aren't arguing whether or not Amanda looks 'pretty' on pointe. We're talking about severe problems for her feet when she's older - she will most likely have severe arthritis in her feet. Really, you're not supposed to go on pointe until you're 12 or when your foot muscles begin developing.
That's fine if you get the proper support. When I went en pointe, I hated it, one because the teacher fitten us into the smae make of shoe which fits like a sailboat on me now. (I was doing pointe for around 8 months around age 11 as well, I am 20 and the shoe is still humungous on me.) and also the standard to start pointe was only to be in grade 4 for a couple of months, I don't think my feet were strong enough and I couldn't releve onto pointe either, and because the vamp was too long for me, I did almost all centre work flat footed as i couldn't get onto pointe away from the barre.
Athena - this isn't exactly true. Russian top schools - Vaganova, Bolshoi, Perm - accept kids at 10.5-11. Some of the kids take lessons in various hobby or private studios before that and some are en pointe, but not all of them, some are beginners (think Olya at their audition documentary). Vaganova and Bolshoi pre-entry courses for 9-10 year olds are not en pointe - you can watch the videos of this courses here to see for yourself, even final exam. There is also a Vaganova video with first exercises en pointe, and it's from the second half of the first year by which time they are 11-12. Sure, some first year olds have been en pointe before, and sometimes they are selected for roles because of that, but at the same time if you watch Vaganova school concert with 1st years, they don't dance en pointe in school concerts, only second years do. (edited to add) I am not judging or commenting about this girl one way or another, I am not qualified, I am only taking about what I know about Russian state schools and what you can easily see on videos here.
+xSimpleIsLifex by damage she means sore feet and toe injury since her ankle wasnt properly formed when she started she will have ankle trouble in the near future
amazing I went to Pacifica Nw ballet and you are fabulous I have never seen someone so young in pointe shoes ...Wow I subscribed maybe u can come and see my beauty channel, I am thinking about getting back into dance miss it so much it gets in to your blood but you are certainly on your way Wow! Great video...Dayna T
Hi :) If you are 9 years old and not in ballet classes then you should not be wearing pointe shoes. I know they are pretty and fun, but doing pointe work without supervision could cause you to hurt yourself so badly that you can never dance en pointe again! Even adults that aren't in regular classes shouldn't wear pointe shoes! Practicing at home is a great way to prepare for starting ballet classes, but pointe work should only be done in the studio on a proper floor (never concrete!) with an experienced teacher watching. Good luck with dancing and I hope you will be able to start ballet lessons soon! Be good to your feet and put the pointe shoes up until a ballet instructor says you are ready!
lots people are saying that going en pointe too early is dangerous, and yes it can be. but what you're seeing here is not injury or damage... i noticed that when she jumps, her foot initially turns in a bit before she corrects it, so she might just not have natural turn out...i think theres something weird about how her shoes fit her feet. it makes it look like she's knuckling and sickling and thats the most distracting thing for me... maybe a higher vamp or a lower profile shoe might help. she may be brand-loyal to whatever she wore as a 9 year old although her feet dont seem to match anymore. wouldn't hurt to get refitted.

It gets better each time to you do it :-)
Same solo since she was 9, must get old
Savana Thorsen I know right
Savana Thorsen I know right
Savana Thorsen I know right she should change up
i think you train for the same dances so you can perfect the flaws so next time it won't be like it was last time :)
And?
I just think that this young dancer gets better all the time. Keep up the great work. Hope to see you on the stage of a major ballet company soon. :)
I'm sure she's improved since the same solo when she was 9☺️
It's amazing to see the improvement. Such a great performance!
She is really good for a 13 year old, can't wait to see what she does in a few years when she signs for a company.
she does the same solo since she was 7
I must say that the turn out has improved heaps which is great and is wonderful to see her grow every year, keep up the good work :)

happy to say i am a ballerina here in germany :)
I am happy it all worked out for you:)
Look at the improvement omg
Look at her poor feet. Look at the structure. Dance teacher is extremely irresponsible for putting her on pointe and nine.
Who came here since she was 9 years old?
I thought this was a women :-: don't kill me I didn't read the title.
She was better when she was 9

+uniquemonique I didn't say anything about how Amanda looks pretty on pointe, I said svetlana was truly beautiful.
+uniquemonique and also, I do dance and am on pointe I was 11 when I went on pointe, I went to a professional therapist who specialises In ballet.

I agree, she is amazing! But her ballet teacher put her en pointe WAY too early and I can already see the damage being done.
+scrafts tv What's the damage? Sickle feet?
+scrafts tv I agree
+xSimpleIsLifex by damage she means sore feet and toe injury since her ankle wasnt properly formed when she started she will have ankle trouble in the near future
Amanda Rose Hall
She needs to straighten her back leg when she leaps.
Isabella Rose she did but her hyper extension made it look like it was bent.
Amanda, you're amazing! Good luck ;)
Wow Amanda you are really good😊☺️😉

you know you cant dance that good.
i know. T.T
one day I am going to ballet class
She is much better!
isn't it boring that she does the same solo since she was 7?
And 9... Its like giving Mackenzie Ziegler the infamous Cry solo that Maddie Ziegler had in season one. So ironic...
OMG! You are not a dancer, no? A real dancer never will be boring. Ballet class is the same thing every day, and will be for ever
And she improves each time too..
she pretty good
Nothing New?
Beautiful
Amazing
Doesn't it hurt her hand when she hits it with the fan?
Eileen Zhu No
GORGEOUS!
so beautiful!
