First rule of dealing with deadly wild animals is to not be the slowest person in the group... We visited the Southwest (Yosemite, Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, etc) in June/July 2020. Some things were closed but crowds were non-existent. We think we lucked out.

Yes, definitely traveling to those places during Covid was great for a low crowds! We experienced that during that time too.
