How did you do 10:06
There is an invisible floor there. To get on to it, take off High Jump Boots, run through the door and push jump as you are going through it. Alternatively, you can come back to this one later when you have the Gravity Suit and Space Jump to get up there.
@@Tresonance thank you so much
@@TresonanceOr... I can also do a Gravity Jump (removing the Gravity Suit in the same frame I jump. This is very useful for getting many things before Maridia)
This video makes me want to go back and replay this game and test my memory of all the locations.
How does this video not have more views? This is super helpful!
And the time in the making
Oh I get it
Anyone else so mad that they got 98 collection rate because they missed one missile
Maybe because the game is round about 25 years old...?! :-D
@@matzeweber8892 The vast majority of the total amount of people who have played and finished this, have since Nintendo started to make it downloadable for their consoles.
Thank you so much for this, I love how organized the information is, all grouped by location, super helpful! I have never completed on 100% collection rate before.
Thanks! I'm really glad it is helping people find all the items throughout the game.
It's been almost 30 years. Super Metroid is great. Thank you for this video!
You're welcome!
This video told that there are only 230 missiles and not 250. Thank you!
I needed to go all through this because I couldn't beat Ridley yet
this was very helpful
Loved this game, being the first game I actually played of the metroid series
Just started playing Super Metroid, and I gotta say, this video is _extremely_ helpful if I hope to achieve 100% under three hours. Thanks a bundle. 🙏
I wanted to thank the person who originally left this tip but I couldn’t find it . You can bomb your way as high as you want by going into the rolling position and using the stock bomb 💣 tap to a metronome of 135 bpm .
I really appreciate the quality of your video.
Thanks!
He's probably using the new snes with star fox 2, but this quality is pretty good ; )
All upgrade, 170 missiles, 45 super missiles, 40 power bomb, 10 energy tank, 3 reserve tank. I have a lot of work to do LOL.
Thanks for the memory jog. Everytime I play this game 7 years in between I always forget like 3-4 missile upgrades. This time around it was the last one of this vid, two in the wrecked ship walls and the one with the turtle! Great vid
Same here I played through it last night and got 93% and 5 hours after a solid 4 year break
What an insane game
Thanks for this video I was so close to beating the game then accidentally lost all my progress. I was so lost trying to remember where to go next.
Thanks so much for the vid. I collected all the upgrades and i'm ready to fight Mother Brain now!
Thanks for this video! One day I'll be able to 100% this game from memory.
20:17 is so great! I never knew there was a Super Missile upgrade there!
The room is actually pretty famous for being one of the few "safe" rooms where you can use Spacetime Beam Glitch :D
They were missiles under where mother brain was in the first game?! How are you supposed to find that without a guide?
It's possible without a guide, you just need the X-Ray scope is all.
Tresonance or be really paranoid
If you play zero missions, you can actually find those same upgrades
I just spammed bombs if there is something on the floor
A lot of games of this era required you to pay attention to subtle details and abuse any item that gave you some kind of super vision there no paranoia in such a process. Doom/wolfenstein were the kind of games you were constantly paying attention to the wall because secrets were hidden behind walls that had a sublte texture change ( all walls sectionsin a room are brownish except one that tends more towards grey ) . In castlevania you whiped every wall to know if there was some healing items. In Megaman X since there was no map you did climbed any wall in hope there was some upgrade on top of it.
In metroid the game litterally gives you a tool that can help you see any secret passage so it's understable that they did hide a lot of things.
If you find the secrets in super metroid difficult to access, just don't bother beating metroid zero mission with 100% items since most of them are really well hidden and some of them require that you handle perfectly the shinespark extension ( charge shinespark then crouch to hold it then shinespark horizontaly in stairs to extend it's duration then crouch again to hold it etc... ) and don't get me started on the ones in metroid fusion ^^.
One of the best games ever!!!! PERIOD! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
best game ever made for a gaming console and one of the best games ever made ...period
Leaving a comment to remember to come back to 10:06 with the space jump
Finally, I'll finally be able to see why I always get 99% after years of not playing Super Metroid 😂
This guy deserves more subs
Thx so much 👍for this video I was almost lost .
Great video💯
I'm so bad in Metroid that I can only get a few items this is a great video
Exactly what I was searching to play again and not use the x-ray all the time.
Thank you for this video : )
Thank you! this video helped me find the one missile that I missed (32:48)
Thanks this is really helpful
Edit: 20:20 WOAH how were we supposed to find that one I never even knew that place was a thing and I've played it at least 3 times xd
thanks ao much for this cause i have the retro and it has this game on there so thank you
I didn't know there were that many things to find in this game
i have 160 missiles 35 super missiles and 40 power bombs a lot of work for me.
and 1 reserve tand and 12 energy tanks still a lot of work for me
Good work! Keep it up!
@@Tresonance thanks btw sub to my channel i have 82 subs
Hank Smashes why are you asking for subs instead of making videos
Hank Smashes I mean actually good videos
Merci beaucoup ❤
Excuse me, i can't find the plasma beam, in that minute in the desc, there were only a missle and a super missle upgrade
Seems I meant to write 35:33 instead of 33:33! Sorry about that! Thanks for catching that.
@@Tresonance alright, thank you
Almost all the doors at the wrecked ship are closed off and none of the enemies are moving. What do I have to do first? Any help?
You have to kill the boss of the Wrecked Ship (Phantoon) first before most of it becomes accessible. You can see that here: ua-cam.com/video/Xyj7XyBrF-4/v-deo.html
Bro tell me the hack that you're using to find all this I know you did not find this in first game
I got my 1st Power Bomb on Norfair '-'
same
Great vid bro
i’m playing on switch and i can’t get back the starting point of the map a door is blocking me off from getting back and now i’m stuck anybody got ideas
What area are you in? So long as you are not in Tourian you should be able to get back to the Ship.
20:43 I literally spent a whole hour trying to do that thing with the wall jump :(
help I'm stuck in the room featured in 38:46 and I can't get out do I need the space jump?
Sink to the bottom and run back and forth. Somewhere along the bottom, there's an exit.
@@Tresonance I ended up just restarting to before I went into the room and now I have space jump and the expansion.
Tell me why I got to the final boss with the ice beam just to find out there is 3 other beams !!
This is awesome, thanks
Hey some advice I wall jumped without using space jump
0:10 me when a blonde girl picks up a pencil
Fr
I don't know how you jump and become a ball so quick. By time I hit down twice it's to late
Amazing job you got here man, very helpfull, tnks!
you are incredible
10:10
What?!
10:10 yeah how did you make that jump. You disabled the high jump boots but as soon as you enter the door you already midair making the jump onto the invisible platform. As soon as i enter the room i fall into the water.
@@juanpablopappaterra8911 jump into the door transition
get the zero gravity suit first
33:56 How do you get to that room
If you are still stuck, you can check my long play video: ua-cam.com/video/-SPAKI1LQxU/v-deo.html
@@Tresonance I figured it out and beat the game a few days ago but thank you.
29:17 How do you do that jump, with what buttons? I'm from Nintendo Switch
You need the Speed Booster. While running at max speed, push down while running and Samus will begin to blink. Then, Stand up and push up and jump (or some combonation of this) and you should go flying straight up. It drains your energy so you need to make sure you have lots of it before trying it or Samus won't go flying at all.
3:57
W H A T R E T H O S E
13:29 How did you made that wall jump?
Spin Jump at the wall, then when you are against the wall, move away from the wall and press jump at the same time. Ex. If you are against the right side wall, push left and jump at the same time.
It can be tricky to get the hang of at first, but once you get it, you'll find ways to use it everywhere.
@@Tresonance Thank you so much, it's tricky, but I'm sure that I can get always the wall jump if I practice. Sorry about my bad English if there's any grammatical error, I'm Spanish.
@@ranula4622 You are most welcome. Your English is great by the way.
I know this is unrelated kind of but does anyone know how to do the dashing when jumping or super high jumps when Samie is blinking after running fast.....in another video a guy does it and he is blinking and stops looks up and jumps super high
You need the Speed Booster. While running at max speed, push down while running and Samus will begin to blink. You can then push jump and a direction (including the L & R angle buttons) to direct the Jump. You'll have to play around with it to get it just right.
9:55 How to make this?
crouch after building up speed with the speed booster, then jump
10:11 HOW THE FRICK DID YOU DO THAT?! I have been trying this for an hour and I can't understand how you did that. Did you glitch or something?
There is an invisible bridge there. If you have the X-Ray scope you can see it. It's also easier to get it if you have the Gravity Suit. Good Luck!
@@Tresonance how do you jump high enough to get it though? Even with the high jump, I fail to even reach it. Also, wheres the scope?
The way I do in the video is to take off the high jump boots so that Samus doesn't hit the ceiling in the water room, then I let go of jump part way through to land on the invisible platform.
If you still have trouble with this, you can always come back to this one once you obtain the Gravity Suit. Then you can jump up there without the water restricting Samus.
The X-Ray Scope can be found at 17:47 and the Gravity Suit at 29:28 (Though if you need more help with the gravity suit, watch from: 27:20)
Nice
What is happening at 10:05?
There's a hidden platform. If you run from the first room, and jump as you are going through the door, then let go of jump so you don't come to the full height of your jump you should be able to reach it. It's tricky time time, but it's possible.
Alternatively, you can come back later with the gravity suit, and jump up onto the platform.
thanks
Brutal yo
am it the only one who hates space jump? it is as hard to use and as cheesy as the wall jump, but it's a main mechanic. unlike space jump, there is no place in the game where i can get stuck in a room flooded with lava because i failed a sequence of wall jumps
I dont get 29:11 can anyone help me pls? (Samus stacks there and dont go up)
How much health do you have? It sounds to me that you might not have enough. If you do not have enough Health, Samus will be unable to Shinespark.
@@Tresonance ooooh ok thx and thx for the video it helped me really much (sry for this english)
I’m still confused at what u did at 10:04 :(
Either I. Can't get it to work. Maybe someone can help us on explaining this?
Has to be perfect timing
There is an invisible platform you can walk on
You just have to jump on it
43:05 and 43:19 Those both require you to walk through walls that the x-ray scope shows as solid. What the F x-ray scope?! Are the rooms I scanned really clear?! Who knows now?!?! The x-ray scope was my security blanket and now it's been TAKEN FROM ME!
How do you do the yellow glowy jump?
I thought there was an upgrade for it
That's called the Shinespark. It becomes available once you unlock the Speed Booster. Hold B and get Samus running at full speed, then hold down to crouch. She'll start flashing and you'll hear the loud charged-up sound, which is when you wanna press A to jump, followed by the direction you want to Shinespark. There's a part in the red soil area of Brinstar where a little alien ostrich thing demonstrates how to do it, if I'm not explaining it well enough. It takes some practice, but you can get all kinds of upgrades and take lots of cool shortcuts with it :)
@@iJerseyDevil thanks man
@@iJerseyDevil I've also seen a shouldee bash thing like a horizontal charge jump. How do I do this?
@@JohnHunterJohnHunter You mean where Samus charges straight forward? Right after pressing A once you're charged, hold either left or right, whichever is forward for Samus. You can also go diagonal up!
@@iJerseyDevil thank you
How to get to Noifair
How do I get out of the 39:21
There's an exit in the sand pit below
How did you get back to brinstar after going to norfair
You mean after you explore Norfair? You need the Ice Beam so you can freeze the enemies in Red Brinstar, and the wave beam to re-open the gate before Red Brinstar, or if you don't have the wave beam, you can go to the very top of Red Brinstar, and get the power bombs to get back to Crateria, and then back in to Brinstar.
I think that should help you, unless I misunderstood you.
That’s exactly what I needed thank you
You're welcome.
Tha ks you
Could you make a video all the items from Super Metroid Redesign?
The original, or the Axeil edition? I'm certain I have managed to get all 100% in the Axeil edition, but I cannot remember if I ever got 100% in the original. It might take me quite some time to do it, if I ever get the chance to.
@@Tresonance Axeil Edition, If you can record a video showing all the items in the Super Metroid Redesing Axeil Edition, I would be grateful and would help me a lot.
Okay. I'll look in to it, but it may take me some time.
@@Tresonance thank you very much, you have no idea how much this will help me.
Just to keep you up to date, I played through the game and got 100%, I'm in the process of now laying out how to best get the items which should take about a week and a half. After this step, I should be able to start recording it, which will take a few weeks.
I will hopefully have this out sometime January 2021, but no promises. Just wanted to keep you in the loop.
How u get out of 39:23 ?
Please i need help ;-;
To get out of this area, you just have to go in the sand and sink to the bottom, then if you run back and forth you should fall through somewhere. It might help to morph into a ball once you think you've hit the bottom and roll around a bit.
@@Tresonance yoooo tysm bro
Thank you
What does the Reserve tank?
When your health hits 0 the energy stored in them will bring Samus back to life. Kind of like the faeries in the Zelda series.
@@Tresonance oh. Thanks man!
That one at 31:13 is insanely difficult to get.

If you take off Highjump boots, and jump as your going through the door, you can land on the invisible platform. You can also get it with the Gravity Suit later on without needing to do this.

Because you have to find the power ups?
I fucking hate this game you know why is because I don’t know how these people are doing this!
