The pipe with chain you found at 24:04 is a light fixture. The pipe piece came down fom the junction box through the ceiling bezel and the chain held the fixture. The wire went throught the slot in the side of the pipe through the center of it and wrapped thorugh the chain to the fixture.

Yessir I can’t believe I dug 2 this year. They are not super hard to get your hands on but will set you back 125-150$ usually for an undamaged one.
The piece with the chain is part of a 1920s ceiling light fixture. The light hung from the chain, the tube end is where the bell shaped ceiling canopy would fit. The slot in the tube is to run the wires. Awesome dig! Congratulations on the cathedral!! You're the only digger on UA-cam that's dug 2 bottles of blood lol

To me in the U.K. it sounds really funny hearing you talk about “privy digging” 🤣😂🤣….I recall both sets of my grandparents having chemical privies whose buckets had to be emptied into a trench grandad dug. Who’d have thought one day people would enjoy digging through all that! My! How times do change! Love how you can recognise the manufacturer and what things were used for! I may have missed the story of this place, but your finding lots of hospital bottles, dispensaries, urine sample bottle, milk, ….are you digging in the grounds of a former hospital??? Was going to say that if you ARE, do keep those gloves on..they may have thrown away dirty dressings from infection, plus syringe needles from back in the day were large and bigger than today and were boiled to sterilise before using on the next patient! Wash your hand thoroughly as one germ can last years in the soil, that’s polio,after babies are inoculated with polio jab the first stool they pass can carry polio,and to day disposable nappies hold that germ and they don’t decompose for a 100 yrs( they aren’t biodegradable sadly)!! Wish mums would help the planet and go back to washable nappies! Sorry for rant but sussing where you may be working felt I had to warn you all! Anyway…. Just be safe boys! Your going to auction these things? Do you wash them all first so they look better? Love that blue glass!…that large blue bottle with like cathedral windows patterned was really gorgeous!! Will you keep that one?? You found a lot of stoppers which are pretty in their own right, but which or rather what bottles did they used to go with?? Saw them all beautiful and clean at the end!! Helen, sister lady you are spot on with it being an old hospital/hotel dump site. Lots of interesting things have been recovered this year. These items are close to 100 years old and some older than that. Have dug hundreds of dumps and privys and always try to be as careful as I can. Appreciate the concern sister lady, this is going on my 11th year as a bottle digger, adventurer. Have a fantastic day and appreciate the support. 😊

Thanks brother man I have really grown to favor that dump over all the others I still have to dig. So much variety and very spot is a bit different. Back in the 1980’s I was diggin in a college dump that was started in 1852 here in Illinois. Dug 2 of the quart n 1-16 oz clover inks. Sold them n never dug another.
Oh 😯 that’s incredible and congratulations on the dig. I mean yeah you sold them but nothing can erase the fact you dug them. I won’t sell mine unless I dig a duplicate 😂. I have sold several though that I have purchased.

I can't believe that you wouldn't keep all of the whole containers and sell them on E-bay
Literally millions of those types of bottles that were mass produced by machine. They are not that collectible or valuable to keep so I will just rebury them for future diggers. I dig mostly for the bottles that were hand blown and made with tools, but will certainly make an exception for a well embossed local med, milk, soda, or hospital bottle . 😊 not to mention a grueling hike out with whatever you decide to keep . They don’t magically appear at your house as nice as that would be.

Not very likely there is something contagious, maybe in that blood . Most any other contagion would not survive those conditions . I'd be more worried about chemicals an odd concoctions made by quack doctors
