    I had been hearing, pun intended, quite a bit about the DCS LINA for a while now. I decided to pull the plug today… can’t wait to get it. Great review, by the way.

    Is always a treat when Sara does a review...Question also...can the Streamer and Master Clock be integrated into a non-headphone based setup? The form factor is the attention getter for me, and am not a headphone person. Thank you again Sara❤️🎶

      They can! The Lina DAC is a dedicated DAC. This does not mean dedicated for headphones. Same with the Master Clock. These can easily go into a 2 channel speaker rig! 🙂

      @@moon-audio Thank you for the confirmation; the specialty of some components come with assertions that while they can be used for headphones or home based systems, are optimized for one over the other. No literature or reviews I've seen have alluded to non-headphone based use, so great to hear that.

    But… if I like tube sounding, do you suggest this combo?

      I would still get the Lina DAC and Clock and maybe get the Auris Nirvana Amplifier:

    Could I use Lina Dac and clock for Hi Fi system connected to preamplifier?
    Can I connect a CD player to Lina Dac as well?

    dCS lost all respect in my eyes when they threatened a reviewer with litigation who did not give it a virtually perfect score.

    I'm interested in upgrading my headphone amp, currently I'm using cayin ha 300b tube headphone amp with DCS bartok & Rossini clock, would the bartok & clock be better than the Lina dac & clock and would the Lina amp be a good match for my bartok & Rossini clock?
    Many thanks.

    • @moon-audio
      @moon-audio  2 роки тому +3

      With the new Bartok 2.0 upgrades the Bartok is better than the Lina in multiple ways. Unless you have a source that has a Clock connection there is no reason to do the Rossini Clock. As the Lina Clock is the same but only has 2 connections. These will tie to the Bartok 1 & 2 clock inputs. And if you do add a Source with a clock like a CD player, you can use the 1 clock output on the Bartok to slave the source and the Bartok to the Lina Clock. Now the Lina headphone amplifier is better than the amp in the Bartok. That has not changed with the new 2.0 Bartok update. But starting with the headphone amp in the Bartok while your wallet relaxes makes good sense. 🙂 At the end of the day I could easily live with the Bartok or the Lina DAC the rest of my life. And I think 99.9999% of all the ears out there would agree.

      @@moon-audio sorry I didn't say, its the non headphone bartok dac that I have with Rossini Clock. I Stream with Quoboz and was looking to upgrade my current cayin ha 300b headphone amp. Headphones are Audeze lcd5.

    Thank you for this video. Is het possible to have a warmer sound instead of a too transparent/analytic sound with a McIntosh system (C12000 - MC462)? Is het possible to listen a Flac 24 bit/192kHz via USB from an external Hard Disk or USB-stick? Thank you

    • @moon-audio
      @moon-audio  Рік тому +1

      Glad to hear you liked the video! Changing the headphone amp to a tube amp will give you a warmer and less analytical sound when compared to the the Lina Headphone amp. Yes, up to 24bit 384kHz is supported by the DAC and even up to DSD 128 is supported if you have any DSD tracks on your hard drive.

    Almost 10k for an amp that gives 2W at 30ohms ?!

    • @moon-audio
      @moon-audio  Рік тому +1

      This is primarily a headphone amp, and most headphones don't need a lot of additional power. The Lina Headphone Amplifier aims to be one of the best sounding headphone amplifiers you can buy, but not necessarily the most powerful.
      If you need a lot of additional power we have other amplifiers available that you might be interested in!

    But there is a but you've got to remember it's just not the DAC.. I've heard one of the tracks you mentioned on the Sennheiser Orpheus £35,000 headphone..You have NO IDEA you have no grasp of what reality is. Yes the DAC does it's best as does the amp but when you're in this you realise everything else sounds rubbish 😞

    Did you make this positive review because if if you make an honest review being more negative DCS prosecute you,like they did whit others reviewers? I Tested this setup and the cost benefit is pure trash!! At least to my ears.
