This is a great little series I'd almost say :) looking forward to these videos What magical places these cities were. Straight out of a fairy tale. Marvelous
Thank you! The only one I have left to edit is the one that isn't Audrey-related, although I'm thinking of maybe making a brief one in Monte Carlo at some point. :-)
@@kendalbrenneman you should. These are really enjoyable on their own. Audrey bits are really insightful but these places almost tell the story themselves :) wishing you the best
I purchased Dutch Girl before I stumbled upon your videos. I have been able to live vicariously through your videos the life of Audrey I was reading in Dutch Girl. Thank you 🌹
@@kendalbrenneman The book is fantastic, there is a lot written about Audrey after Roman Holiday but very little before. I think this the first book that give an in depth view of what her life was like as a child growing up during the war. When I read the book in my minds eye everything was in black and white but with your videos by going to the actual places Audrey lived in Arnhiem and Velp added the color. Her passion like many young girls was to be a ballerina. Her acting career it appears was wasn't something she was pursuing. She was just in the right place at the right time with the right look. But that's true with just about every star in the movie biz isn't it?
i love these little European towns/cities! they are setup for people! a large sidewalk with a lane for bikes and motorcycles. I live in AZ/USA and bikes, pedestrians, and motorcycles get hit by cars regularly. i don't ride my bike on the road but the sidewalk. was already hit once. how i'd love to live here and switzerland for awhile. just love the atmosphere. it's charming and lush. enjoyed the video very much thank you! i plan to read dutch girl soon.
It really should be more common, it's much safer to actually set things up for bikers. My gosh though, Switzerland must be a terrifying place to ride a bike though. haha. We passed some while driving into the mountains. eeeek!
Great dedication to visit all those places I live nearby arnhem In the city of nijmegen When i visit arnhem i always think a bit of audrey i dont know why. she had some magical thing around her that nobody has since her I hope you had a great day in velp That firetruck scene😝 Sitting in front of luca dotti You deserve that honor🌹
I don't know how I'm missing all these comments! I've been in Holland for the lockdown but I'm heading back to France soon. I'll be back again soon though! And yes, Luca and the rest were very kind to let me ride along, I wasn't expecting that!
I admire you tremendously for your dedication to the craft. Now since you live in Paris, I think you would benefit from a short trip to Chateau de la Reine Blanche, Coye-la-Foret, France. It’s the location of the scene in Funny Face where Audrey dances with Fred Astaire in the wedding dress. Spend the day there, particularly in the back of castle where the bulk of the scene was shot.
Thank you! Now that my summer travels are over, I have to focus on her mannerisms and speech and all of those things. I keep asking myself, "if they were to audition you tomorrow, would you be ready?" Answer is still no. lol. I have heard of that location as well, but I live in Cannes now, so it's not easy to get to. I'm not sure when I will really be spending more time in Paris, although I know that's another one of her favourite locations. Someday I'll get over there, though!
This place is truly a heaven. I'm from Mumbai, India and for us it is literally a heaven straight out of a fairy tail. I feel bad that none of Audrey's sons become successful or become an actor, unlike here in Bollywood where nepotism only works.
I'm sure parts of India are magical as well! I haven't been there yet but I hope to visit at some point. Her sons, well, I'm not sure what exactly they're both doing, but neither seem to have a desire to get into film. Sean did briefly, but gave it up. But it's good, I'm sure you have a much healthier lifestyle outside of Hollywood!
