I just discovered Unida today. It's not often new music can change the way you look at life, but these guys are just on a whole 'nother level. The songwriting is incredible. Stoner Rock is a misnomer. This music is complex and it transports you to another place. It makes you feel strong emotions. I'm a guitarist and their guitarist is my new favorite player. He is as heavy as it gets, yet he has a grin on constantly. I think the dude is just letting life/earth/god flow thru him, which is how he can be so in the pocket and SO FUCKING HEAVY. The grin is involuntary. He couldn't frown at those moments if he wanted to because he's not in control of his body, the life force and the music are. Just my suspicion. And the bassist is so good it's just stupid. The fills and solos he does are masterful. Vocals and drumming are the same. Transcendental. Brilliant. Bravo. And thank you.

No I’m not taking this all in at all. The band still sounding great! But then every time he comes in and he steers the other way so each verses doesn’t complete very well. Not sure if he’s trying to sound like JG or trying not to sound like him at all. Also his poise subtract large chunks of presence of power that the band gradually builds up. Once it’s there then he takes it down almost immediately. That has got to be worst version of “Nervous” ever.

I saw this version of Unida a couple of months back and it was not enjoyable. It was like some professional musicians picked a fan from the crowd to sing. I understand this guy was their original singer but I understand why he was replaced with John Garcia.
