And that's exactly why I don't feel anything whenever I hear the song now. I went to ALL IN and it gave me back my love for Pro Wrestling. His NWA Title win over Nick Aldis and his entrance before that listening to that song, it was powerful. But now that he's back in WWE USING that same song, it feels bastardized to me. @@kennythetrend3688 nah, I think it's being looked at wrong. Cody never disliked WWE. At least not fully. He never really blamed WWE for his struggles. But he understood that he IS someone of value, regardless of whether he wanted to be or not (I say this because he talks about how there was an extended time when he didn't even WANT to be a Rhodes, because he believed it put a stamp on him that he didn't really want, or as he later realized wasn't ready for)
The song isn't really a middle finger to WWE specifically. It was a middle finger to EVERYTHING. And now that he is back, it's really a middle finger to his past, and how he is stomping it out to make room for his future 💯

@@wuthurer I mean...MJF was his "sidekick" but was obviously only putting up with Cody to make it to the top. I think it would have been cool to see Cody and MJF team up as heels. Also, Cody is a PG Babyface, which AEW has some, but he is literally the closest thing to John Cena since Roman Reigns when it came to how artificial his Babyface character was. But I do think he does fit well in WWE, but that's mainly due to it being PG, his character being a lot like Cena's, and because WWE fans haven't SEEN this version of Cody if they weren't watching ROH, NJPW, Impact, or AEW in the last 6-7 years before he came back to WWE. So he got that freshness to the WWE audience, but hardcore fans like myself have seen Cody be this somewhat 1 Dimensional baby face since 2018 and got sick of it, which is why AEW fans started to boo him. No hate towards Cody, but he just was getting too repetitive in AEW, especially with his promos.

Remember in his AEW run, people were hating on him so damn much. Saying that he was taking up spotlight, that he was bland when in reality Cody probably had some of his best matches in AEW. His matches with Sammy Guevara were some of my favorites because of how well they worked together. Fans are always gonna be fickle & can like
a wrestler today & hate his guts next week, just glad he’s finally getting that respect that he’s earned.

I rewatched AEW Double Or Nothing 2019 and it was weird to hear Cody's entrance theme without the crowd going "WOOOOAAAH!"

I admit it I didn't think Cody was gonna be more than a midcarder when he returned I didn't even care about him in aew but this wwe run has gone 1000x better than I could of imagined and he really won me over with that injury and hell in a cell what a tough sob to go thru that

Cody didn't start playing up the "Woah" spot until coming back to WWE. They know how much their audience like singing "woah woah woah" It's essential to getting their superstars over.

Cody is the man and he has one of the greatest theme songs ever. But we have to give credit to the one and only Chris Jericho for starting this trend because when the fans at aew sang the words to Judas, that was a truly awe inspiring
