  • The hibiscus flower has such a wonderful herbal smell and it is so easy to extract the beautiful, vibrant red color from the flower. 🌺
    The biggest pro of using hibiscus is its ability to promote hair growth. Hibiscus is rich in Vitamin C, which increases collagen production; which in turn strengthens hair. This means less breakage and more length retention 🙌🏽

    🤦🏾‍♀️I did NOT catch that when I was editing, but citric acid will bring DOWN the pH level of your products. This will make it MORE ACIDIC and LESS alkaline. I said it opposite in the video.😅 SORRY. The normal pH of our skin is between 4 and 6 (Which Is Acidic), so you want your skin and hair care products to have a pH that falls within that range as well. Also, the pH level can affect "certain" preservative's efficiency, so it is important.
    ✨We will talk more about preservatives, citric acid, etc.; but I did want to make that correction for you all 😊

    Lookx great. Glad it's something you can use. I was excited to see you posted this but if I wanted to try something like this I'd ha e to tweak it and cut out tbe preservatives and citric acid, vit e, panethanol, etc as those are all corn. I'll probably play around with it. I have a hibiscus vinegar rinse I made that works well. Took a couple,e weeks for it. Thank you for the ideas.

    • @YayaDIYCreations
      @YayaDIYCreations  5 років тому

      saxyroxy736 Thank you! 😊 And Yes, we have to tweak ingredients to make them work for our personal needs. That is what I love about DIY’s, you can add or omit whatever you like.
      As long as you have the base: Water, Oil, Emulsifier; the rest are just enhancers. Not “needed” at all 😊 You can always put your product in the refrigerator instead of using a preservative.
      I hope it works out for you if you decided to tweak it 👍🏽

    Hibiscus and black castor oil are my two holy grail, “holy hell I killed my hair” ingredients.
    It also makes amazing tacos and is a fabulous tea for battling those free radicals. It’s tart but you can add Cane sugar or honey to it. Double your benefits by using your left over hibiscus flowers to make tacos or tea. You can’t go wrong and you’re not wasting anything.

    Hi, loving your channel from the UK. We can’t get liquid germall plus or optiphen over here so I tried another preservative which I looked into to check whether it would work. I got all my ingredients together (twice) and first time I forgot to add the cetearyl alcohol and second time I got all the way to the preservative, it looked good but after I added the preservative, it got so thin and didn’t get thick again even after I left it for an hour. So disappointed. The preservative I used was ‘Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerine’. Any suggestions to make it work? I need this conditioner to deal with my thinning after medication and sickness. Thanks

      Denise Moore Hello, so there are a couple things that could be doing this.
      Number 1, citric acid can thin out your product. If you do not need to adjust the ph, you can skip this all together.
      Number two, you may have to adjust the thickener or btms 50. You may have to add more or double their quantity to get a thicker conditioner.
      Number 3, more butters. Butter will also add a thicker consistency.
      Number 4, I have never tried those types of preservatives but some preservatives can mess up the emulsification process if add at the wrong temperature or time. Some preservatives need to be added during the cool down phase while others need to be added during the heated phase.
      Unfortunately it does take trail and error which can get costly. I do my best to supply basic measurements but variations can cause it to change. Even when I repeat my recipes, i still have tweak something here and there.
      This conditioner was not meant to be thick but I do have a another recipe that is much thicker. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/ccq_sUK1Ibw/v-deo.html
      All you have to do is use the measurement from the link, add the ingredients that are missing from this one, and use the hibiscus tea to replace the water
      Please let me know if this does not work. I would love to help. You can actually email me at iamjustyaya@gmail.com and I will help you further. I can actually send another version of the recipe for you to try with measurements. 😊

      Great! Thanks for your prompt response. There’s a lot to try. I have bought some PH sticks so will check the PH balance and if necessary, remove the citric acid and will work my way through the list. I have a jar of hibiscus water that I want to get to before it has the chance to grow any nasties so looking forward to experimenting.
      I have also ordered some liquid germall plus from overseas - just hope the taxes are not too high!
      Thanks again 😊

    How do you know the measurements of each ingredient

    • @empressaura7736
      @empressaura7736 4 роки тому

      You use a batch calculator depending on how much you want to make and what percent your going to use of each ingredient then it will tell you how much is each ingredient google batch calculator. How this helps good luck.
