Let Yourself Be Helped - July 4th 2024

Mt 9:1-8: "'But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins'- he then said to the paralytic - ‘Rise, take up your bed and go home.’" Which character will we be in this gospel scene: the friends helping the paralytic get to Christ, or the paralytic allowing himself to be helped? We need the humility and docility to allow ourselves to be helped. If so, Christ will cure us too, whatever form of spiritual paralysis we might be suffering from.
